Actually, it’s a really interesting movie—definitely one of the better ones I've seen lately.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:

It was a fun watch, though I guess the trailer might have looked even better than the actual movie, even if they didn't cram everything into the teaser, which was a good call. It’s probably one of the better movies I've seen this year, and I honestly felt pretty anxious right along with 🙂. I don't really see the point in making a sequel, personally. 9/10.

Since Stan used to own a gun shop, everyone assumed the attackers were just disgruntled customers.

Verna was actually killed by that henchman who attacked eddie's girlfriend—basically, he was an employee of Adelman who was desperate for more NTZ.

A solid piece of work, likely sitting somewhere in that typical range on IMDb.

I watched it. There were certain sequences that absolutely blew me away, though I have to admit there were moments where the performance felt a bit over-the-top—almost too much melodrama for my taste—but overall? I think he captured that character perfectly. 😁

You can't really expect anything groundbreaking from the basic premise, but you at least hope for some entertainment value.
The issue is that with movies like this, the tension and fun should be ramping up as you get closer to the credits, but instead, it’s the exact opposite—the movie just gets progressively stupider. It feels like the director completely lost the plot halfway through and had no clue how to actually steer the story toward a coherent ending. 🤷

Gives you plenty to chew on. The cast, the soundtrack, the concept—everything just works. I didn't find myself checking my watch once while watching this. 😁

That was one hell of a movie... honestly, it makes me want to get my hands on one of those tablets myself :🙂))

I didn't quite wrap my head around the ending, and honestly, I don't really have the energy to sit through it a second time. Did he actually stop taking his pills at the end?

Yeah, we were actually chatting about it last night. He mentioned everything is fine—just dealing with some sinus pressure if he overdoes it, but nothing serious.

But man, he also told me his stomach is basically a disaster zone right now, like he's dealing with crappy bathroom issues every other day.😬

That movie was awesome, honestly one of the best things I've seen in a long time.🙏

That’s exactly the point, though. It’s designed so you think de Niro totally crushed him and that's how the movie ends. After everything he went through, he’s going to "lose" it all, and then—boom. He played de Niro, he played us, and it's a complete reversal. The movie is great, and I guess you can't expect him to just lose everything right at the finish line, or wait until he sees a car crash coming. I think the ending works for the film as a whole. If they aren't planning a sequel, they don't need to wrap it up with some massive woow effect or leave it hanging like Inception. Usually, those dramatic endings just end up being annoying.

I watched Vanilla Sky and remember feeling like time was dragging so slow; it was hard to follow certain parts. With this one, time actually flies by. You don't get that feeling where you're confused or wondering if you even understand what's happening, because you're just totally sucked into it. 🍿

Personally, I’d say this was one of the absolute best films released back in 2011.

Total masterpiece!! I caught this in theaters and then immediately went back for a second viewing once it hit DirecTV. It was just too good to pass up. Such a gripping concept, an incredible cast (especially 😍 Bradley), and a killer plot—honestly, I can't find a single thing to nitpick. You seriously need to see this!

I’m not usually a big fan of Bradley, but he actually kills it in this one.
Honestly, the whole movie flew by—felt like it was only thirty minutes long. One of the better ones out there. 👍

Yeah, it was a great movie.

I used to avoid this movie because I can't stand Bradley Cooper's attempts at acting, nor can I stomach how much Robert de Niro has let himself go, but I finally decided to give it a shot today. Honestly, what can I say? The plot is somewhat engaging and functional during the opening act—where the core idea feels decent enough—but then it steadily loses steam until it hits an ending that I personally found repulsive due to its sheer naivety. They never actually explain how he managed to keep producing tablets while simultaneously functioning on them. The film is riddled with logical gaps and gets particularly messy once you bring in that guy who’s supposed to sign the contract (Atwood?) who turns out to be using the tablets too... no, I can't even finish that thought. The presence of Bradley Cooper and a Robert de Niro who sells out his acting legacy far too easily is only tolerable if you're looking for ninety minutes of mindless entertainment to switch your brain off. For me, it's about a 6/10.
