Limitless (2011)

This is my third time posting about this. Honestly, after the fifteen-minute mark, my girlfriend started getting visibly annoyed because I was getting so worked up over it! I’ve been obsessing over this movie for days... DAYS 😢 A total disaster.

The plot was genuinely compelling; it’s what drew me in and kept my attention locked throughout, largely because I’ve toyed with similar concepts myself. If you're looking for a recommendation, this might actually be one of the standout gems from 2011, and there are plenty of other titles in this collection to explore as well... =)

So, I finally sat down and watched it the other day. Based on the trailer, you’re expecting this high-octane, fast-paced ride—you know, the whole vibe of sudden financial freedom and having a gorgeous woman on your arm thanks to some brain-boosting magic, which feels like a bit of a pivot from the original premise. But honestly? Compared to what the trailer was selling, the movie itself is kind of a letdown.

Still, if you’re just looking for something easy to zone out to—even if a few scenes get a little heavy—it’s a perfectly fine way to kill an afternoon or an evening.

It tries to juggle a bunch of different themes, sometimes feeling a bit unnecessary, like the whole debate over overnight success versus actually grinding for years, or those messy questions about morality and reputation... personally, I think the director should have just stuck to the lighthearted action, because once it tries to get all deep and philosophical, that's where the movie really starts to stumble.

Look, it's not going to be one of those cinematic masterpieces people talk about for decades, but it's certainly not something you should avoid at all costs either.

Movie so, I don't know, nothing special... it's watchable... felt like it would never end... but how he absolutely wrecked it at the end—INSANE. Seriously, just because of that one part, I could probably watch the whole thing again.😁

Based on the trailer, I totally thought it was going to be super predictable, and for the most part, it really was, but that ending totally makes up for everything else... seriously... 😁

The movie turned out to be actually fun and easy to watch. 👍

If you started nitpicking the details, you'd find a mountain of errors—but honestly, who cares?

I have to say, I wasn't particularly fond of it, if I'm being honest. I suppose you could say two-thirds of the movie was decent enough, but then it just sort of devolves into something silly and quite frankly, rather tedious. My rating would probably be a 5/10.

I finally watched this movie, and since I started this thread, it’s only right that I share my thoughts on 😁

I was looking forward to catching this, and once I finally tracked down the Blu-ray Rip today, I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't impressed either. The plot works, and the whole concept regarding the pill is incredibly cool, but the ending felt weak. While I'm glad Eddie didn't end up spiraling like I suspected he would early on, the conclusion felt hollow and unfinished. The cast is fine; Bradley Cooper is solid as always, but the execution could have been much sharper. Perhaps I simply expected too much from this movie.

If those pills actually existed, I'd kill for a few just to breeze through all my exams in one go. 😂😂
On a scale of 0 to 10, I give it a 6; maybe a 6.5 at most.

The trailer was surprisingly well-executed—really impressive! The movie is fun, too. All in all—it's a solid experience!

Watched it yesterday... honestly, I wasn't impressed; I was expecting way more. It actually starts off strong, but then it’s like they completely lost the plot halfway through and just rushed to some kind of finish line just so they could call it done.. 👎

But man, the lead actor 👍 😍

Out of the whole thing, the actual movie was probably the least interesting part for me... I was way more hooked by the concept that drove the whole story 🤷 The idea to be great is honestly just incredible 👍

All the best to this movie. It’s not quite hitting my personal top 5 all-time favorites or anything, but man, it is good. Definitely a solid watch.🙂

So, does he actually have other labs, or was he just bluffing? Based on his expression in the office, it looked like he didn't have any. 🤷

Also, what ever happened to that lawyer and the bodyguard/driver?

Definitely one of the more interesting movies I've seen lately...

I'm kind of wondering how Eddie actually dealt with the whole pill situation? Like, did they figure out the formula and fix the side effects, or did he just find something that provides a permanent fix? I'm also curious about how he handled those three murders in his apartment—I didn't quite follow the part about the previous tenant. And what about that bit with the hands in the safe? I guess he probably assumed someone would try to break in since both his old place and the one from Verna got hit.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:

It was a fun watch, though I guess the trailer might have looked even better than the actual movie, even if they didn't cram everything into the teaser, which was a good call. It’s probably one of the better movies I've seen this year, and I honestly felt pretty anxious right along with 🙂. I don't really see the point in making a sequel, personally. 9/10.

It was a decent enough flick, though I can't help but feel it missed its full potential if they'd just ironed out a few kinks and maybe stretched the runtime a bit... 8.5/10
