Don't stress too much about the swelling. It’s just part of the process... I was dealing with swelling for an entire month—honestly, nobody else even noticed, but I certainly did. I'm approaching the three-month mark post-op now, and everything looks fantastic; I think I've finally hit my stride. Some people need a full six months before their nose settles back to normal. It really varies from person to person.

Regarding nasal massages, please, for the love of god, do NOT attempt that unless your surgeon specifically instructed you to!!!
As far as I'm aware, those specific techniques are only used at Dr. Glušac's office. The whole point is to help the skin adhere to the bone more effectively and quickly. That's how you get the swelling to subside faster.

ugh, okay, one more question (I know, I know, I'm being such a pest already), but what's the deal with sex?? like, I was scrolling through some random American health blog and it said you should avoid anything that spikes your blood pressure for like 3 to 4 weeks... and they actually listed sex on that list. so... does that mean I'm still on the "no-go" list for intimacy??!😕

lonemason10 said:Yeah, everyone seems to have a different take on it... Look, my surgeon is a bit eccentric. Most of his patients come to him because they already have totally botched noses from previous procedures, so he spends most of his time fixing other people's massive mistakes. But honestly, you've gotta hand it to him—I've never met anyone who talks about noses with such genuine passion. To him, every single nose is like a masterpiece.🙏

In my opinion, it's best to just stick to what our own doctors recommended, even if their advice differs from others. That being said, that paraffin oil is meant to prevent internal scabbing; it isn't a traditional nasal spray, so it shouldn't cause any harm.

Which doctor did you end up seeing? And are you scheduled for a cleaning yet? Oh man, those are painful... yikes.😱

"every single nose is like a masterpiece" 🤣🤣🤣That’s exactly how I felt too, but trust me—he’s really not that great.

Oh, give me a break!!! You'll be totally fine... I honestly thought my nose was going to start throbbing, but nope... you can go ahead. I just meant don't keep your head hanging down (you'll end up bruising your nose if you're looking at the floor). 🙂 🙂

Hey, Jelena Vuco and Kimberly Robinson55, how’s it going? What’s the deal with your noses—are you seeing any changes yet?? I noticed mine looks a little narrower near the bridge, but the tip feels the same... at least I think it is... if it actually shrank, it's barely even noticeable... but here's what I just realized—my whole nose is tilting to the left. Like, the entire thing! When you look at it from underneath (or when I tilt my head back), you can totally see it's not centered; it's leaning to one side, kind of like the Leaning Tower of Pisa—it's awful. I’m really praying it’s just because of the swelling... because then the nostrils look different too... and the tip is asymmetrical... when I touch the left side, it feels pointy, but the right side feels rounded... ugh, it's so hard to explain, you’d honestly have to see it🙂 oh, and I already pulled my first stitch out myself... I just picked at it

I’ve noticed that my bridge has narrowed slightly at the top, though the tip seems to be exactly the same... or at least I think it is... if it actually did shrink, it isn't really obvious yet...But what I *have* just noticed is that my entire nose is tilting to the side (the left side).... I mean, when you look at it from underneath (or when I tilt my head back), you can clearly see the nose isn't centered; it's slanted to one side—it looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa! It's honestly terrifying. I am desperately praying this is just because of the swelling...because even my nostrils look different now... and the tip is totally asymmetrical... when I touch the left side, it feels pointy, but the right side feels rounded... Ugh, it's so hard to explain, someone really needs to see this visually.🙂Oh, and by the way, my first stitch already fell out—I actually ended up pulling it myself...

Well, I feel a bit better now after reading that...🤣
To me, it feels like it's leaning a little to the right... but no, that's just the swelling, since it's much more swollen on that side, and the tip is still puffy too. I went in for my checkup yesterday and everything is fine... the doctor told me I won't be able to breathe properly until after the summer... and that the nose will finally look the way it's supposed to in three or four months. So, there we go. My profile looks great, but the swelling is still there; other people don't notice it, but for heaven's sake, *I* can see it!🤷

My first stitch came out too. The doctor pulled one out yesterday, and the rest should just fall out on their own eventually...

Jelena Vuco.😉

How did everyone’s stitches turn out? I was playing around a bit with a Q-tip and found some dark stuff—not sure if it's just thread or maybe a stray hair 🤣
The tip is still pretty swollen, too. The area above my lip has flattened out, but I can't really give a big smile yet—every time I try to move my upper lip, the tip doesn't budge at all, it just feels super TIGHT
Does anyone else feel that pulling sensation near the tip? And does it look like it's pointing upward?
Once the stitches finally come out, does the tip drop down and relax a bit more?

The tip of my nose is still super swollen, too. Like, the part above my lip looks totally flat, but I still can't really smile properly. And no matter how much I try to move my upper lip, the tip won't budge at all—it just feels tight, you know?
Does anyone else feel that tightness at the tip? Is yours pulled upwards too?

Man, mine is still swollen too. I still can't laugh normally (though it’s slightly better than it was a week ago, I guess)... but what you're saying about the tip—mine doesn't move either, everything feels super tight and it's definitely pointed up (total Miss Piggy vibes here).......
And hey, you might be onto something there... about those threads... I actually fished my own stitch right out of the left nostril... and now my nostrils look uneven. The left one is kind of loose, but the right one is still being pulled upward and looks narrow... plus, my whole nose seems to be tilting to the left now.🤣

Hey ladies, has anyone here actually gone through nasal polyp surgery? I've got my procedure coming up at Mayo Clinic, and honestly, I'm lowkey stressing. Does anyone know how long you have to deal with those nose tampons after? Thanks!

jadecrane3, my nose felt way too puffy right after surgery too, but it’s been a month now and it has finally settled down nicely, so things are looking great. Everything should fall into place within a month or two, so don't stress out—if you're still worried, just go see your doctor. I used Geokorton ointment applied with Q-tips, and I made sure to keep everything clean. They told me strictly not to blow my nose for at least a month and a half, and to avoid wearing glasses as much as possible.
It’s honestly wild how much advice varies from one doctor to the next.
As for smiling, I haven't really been able to smile normally until just now because my nasal area felt so tight and my lip was constantly swollen.

Peter Young, did you deal with much pain following your surgery? Honestly, after I put down my deposit for the Actress, I heard through the grapevine that Dr. Boric was actually the better choice, but now the damage is already done. What was your experience like with the doctor?

Hey everyone, I’m new here, so I wanted to drop in, say hello, and wish you all a very happy holiday season. As for me, I had my rhinoplasty about two weeks ago, and honestly, I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. My biggest fear was how the profile would look from the front, but it ended up looking exactly how I envisioned... so I truly believe you'll all find peace with your own results too. 😉

Scott Carter23, I’m glad you’re feeling better about it. Which doctor did you end up seeing? Was there any specific pain involved? (Those are really the only two things I care to know right now:-))

So, I went to see Dr. Žgaljardić up in Santa Barbara. I can't speak for everyone else, but he was incredibly kind. He understood exactly what I was looking for right from the jump. Honestly, when I actually showed up for the surgery, I wasn't even nervous... not even a little bit. The entire medical team is top-notch. I felt so at home that I almost felt bad leaving once everything was wrapped up, haha. As far as the pain goes, I didn't feel anything during the procedure. The only thing was feeling a bit groggy for a few days—probably just the anesthesia wearing off. About eight days later, he removed the cast and the nasal packing, then I just had some bandages on my nose for another three days. It’s still (naturally) a little tender to the touch and slightly swollen. Based on my experience, I’d do it all over again without hesitation... if you have any other questions, let me know. 🙂

I’ve never actually heard of this doctor before, but I see he’s been nominated for one of those "Top 100 Aesthetic Surgeons" awards. Does that even mean anything? Anyway, I have to ask—was your nose too prominent at first, too? Did it seem to drop or settle lower over time? Thanks for getting back to me.

So now you're up to speed on the doctor too,🙂...Yeah, honestly, during those first couple of days he seemed a little more prickly, but that was just because of the swelling. Everything is looking better and better now... Don't mention it. 😉
