Susan Kelly95 said:I tried explaining why some people get local with sedation while others go full general, but I totally messed up my explanation...

They told me at first I’d just be under local anesthesia, but then they switched to general. The anesthesiologist said there'd be too much blood draining down my throat for me to handle it without being out cold. Apparently, they only do the local stuff for super minor cosmetic tweaks, and even then, it's rare...

Has anyone besides Gie actually had nose surgery with Tony Bennett???
Mine turned out great, but I read somewhere that he likes to just wing it, and now he's lecturing me. I went in for a consultation, but he basically told me he doesn't know exactly how it'll look until he's actually doing it—like he has some "internal computer" or whatever. Ugh, I just wanted a rough idea!!! He just said: it'll look better😁. So useless, I really wanted him to show me on a computer, or even just sketch it out!!!

Honestly, I’d be worried if a surgeon told me they’d make my nose look exactly like a photo or some computer simulation... I'd run for the hills immediately. Believe me, they don't truly know what's possible until they're actually in there; that's when they see what works best for you. Personally, I just have them sketch a quick outline on my nose before surgery, kind of like a guide...

Computer simulations are a total waste of money.

is this just a glitch or is it forever?
I actually think it's kind of cute when their nose twitches while they talk....

First I've ever heard of audio cutting out like that. Doesn't sound like radio to me... but does their nose really twitch when they speak? Lemme go check... mine doesn't move...🤷🤣

Hey Laura Castillo7, my nose looked pretty much the same both before and after that last photo on her page. Honestly, that’s exactly what I was going for because that specific shape just fits my face best. It wasn't like I set out with some grand plan to copy someone else; it was just one of those coincidences where she and I happen to have similar noses. Now that I'm looking at the video, it looks like she has a nose just like mine too...

If you want my two cents, I’d probably lean toward Glumac.👍

It wasn't even like I had some grand plan to go out and copy someone else; it just so happened that she and I happen to have very similar noses. Now that I'm looking back at the photos, I see she’s got a similar nose too...

So, are you happy with how everything turned out?

Thanks! How does Glumac handle consultations?

Believe me, they don't really know what they're doing until they actually get inside your nose—that's when they figure out what works best for you. All I need is for them to sketch something on my nose before the surgery, just as a rough guide...

Computer simulations are just a waste of money.

But you know, lonemason10, I was kind of hoping they'd show me something approximate... since my nose is wide, I have no clue how much he intends to narrow it🤷... plus, I'm terrified he'll lift it too high and I'll end up looking like a cartoon character. Just thinking about the worst-case scenarios: what if he makes me look like Hargrove😲? Or Tina Turner😲?? 😁My mom tried to comfort me, but she just said, "Yeah, that's exactly how it'll look if he shows up with a 0.1% blood alcohol level"😁 All I know is he plans on breaking bones on the side...😲

Jesse Taylor7—regarding local vs. general anesthesia, Tony Bennett told me he prefers local because there's less bleeding🤷, and obviously, because the risks associated with general anesthesia are higher.

Maria Diaz79 said:Apparently, you shouldn't take any medication at all for about ten days before surgery (at least, that's what I was told). Has anyone else had their procedure pushed back because they caught a cold?

Well, I actually had a cold right when I was headed in for my surgery, and it didn't cause any issues at all. You definitely can't touch Aspirin or Advil, obviously, but something like Tylenol should be fine if you need to bring a fever down. My doctor actually suggested I take some B-complex vitamins for about two weeks leading up to the big day.

Laura Castillo7 said:thanks! so, what's Glumac like during the consultations?

He’s actually pretty alright! He stays patient and keeps his cool, plus he answers just about everything you throw at him.

Laura Castillo7 said:Go ahead and ask him, I’m dying to know. And are you planning on going to his office? Did you actually sit down for a consultation yet? Also, does he offer any kind of financing or payment plans?

Yes, and this girl I know had general anesthesia for her procedure. But honestly, she told me she wouldn't even touch local anesthesia because she's terrified she'll hear something happening. It's irrational, isn't it? Usually, they just use local for minor tweaks, like a quick nose tip adjustment, but for anything else, it's full general anesthesia.

Glumac is absolutely top-tier during consultations. He stays completely focused and isn't pushy at all—meaning, the final call is always entirely up to you.

Laura Castillo7 said:And why won't he offer financing? It makes zero sense. He’s selling the most expensive items in the shop, yet refuses to provide installment plans. Why? There is no logical reason for it. Purely arbitrary. By the way, Peter Young, are you actually happy with the quality of the clothes you bought from him? Is the stuff you're wearing actually comparable to what he shows off on his website?

Dr. Zgaljardic out in Palm Springs is quite a bit more expensive—and I mean significantly. Though, if you ask me, Glumac isn't actually that much pricier than the specialists over in New York City. We're talking about a difference of maybe $90 compared to the usual $100 range. When you are dealing with your health, does that kind of margin really matter? Not in my book.

You have a point—it isn’t necessarily overpriced, but I’m just a little short on cash right now. I can’t seem to scrape enough together fast enough, so I’d likely opt for a payment plan. By the way, have you actually been to his open house yet, or are you still planning the trip?

Well, lucky you!!! Best of luck with everything!!!! How long did you end up waiting for those consultations versus the actual operation?

You don't have to wait at all for consultations, but for surgery? I’d say you're looking at an average of about a month. Look, once you're actually in my shoes, you'll probably realize it wasn't even that big of a deal 😁

Look, I know this isn't just some minor thing for you—I can tell you care—but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly! Please, reach out and let me know how it turned out once it's over.

Regarding those cures you were using during surgery—did any of you actually have them on hand while the operation was underway, or did you just give them a call to come pick you up once everything was wrapped up?

Jesse Taylor7, how old are you, and what was your family's reaction when you mentioned heading out to Palm Springs? I’m bracing for impact here—any advice for someone expecting a total war zone?
