Hey everyone... I had my rhinoplasty last week. First off, thanks for all the info you share here; it really helped me realize that I’m just a regular person getting cosmetic surgery and that everyone makes it through 🙂. For those still on the fence, I want to share my experience. Regarding the decision on which surgeon to pick, I agree with what one girl said about the importance of getting multiple consultations. Assuming the surgeon is highly skilled, the real key is finding someone who actually understands what *you* want. Since everyone perceives beauty differently, I think that's why some people end up unhappy with their results. To put it bluntly, maybe they just weren't on the same page. It’s tough to choose because online forums always have a mix of glowing reviews and bitter complaints for the exact same doctor. My main criterion, besides him being an ENT, was finding that "click" during the consultation. First, I saw Dr. Ostojic. He’s a very prominent guy—clearly brilliant and extremely polite, providing tons of information. My goal was simply to remove the hump on my profile and make it smaller without changing my front view too much. At first, he agreed, but then he started suggesting other things... like cutting the muscle between my nose and lip because apparently, my nose "talks to me" or whatever. (I noticed later that most people operated on by him had this done, which is weird—apparently, we all need it. Looking at Instagram, I see plenty of beautiful girls whose noses "talk to them," which I never even realized before). I didn't vibe with that, so we looked at photos of his previous work instead. While looking at the photos, he started explaining the elements of a "perfect" nose 😳like how it should look like a perfect triangle, or how the tip to the upper lip should be at a right angle, and so on. Look, the guy is a perfectionist, which isn't bad, but I don't want a "perfect" nose. Also, commenting on one photo, he mentioned there wasn't much to fix there. He probably sees plenty of noses that even a plastic surgeon can't improve. The clincher was when he commented on a certain nose, saying he wasn't happy with the result because while it wasn't a "pretty" nose, the patient insisted on keeping her original shape. I had a second consultation with Dr. Tony. Even though the talk was brief, I felt like he truly understood me. I liked that he wasn't overly sweet or acting like a servant. I'm having my cast removed tomorrow, so we'll see if my theory holds up. Anyway, the surgery was done under local anesthesia. I felt the injections in my nose—it hurt like hell. Then came the bone breaking; I remember tears starting to flow. It wasn't pleasant, but I prepared myself mentally. Some people feel nothing, and some... well, some feel everything. After the surgery, I got home and was totally mobile—cooking, eating lunch, etc. I wasn't in pain and had no bruising. On the second day, I had some minor bruising, but otherwise, everything was great, except sneezing was a nightmare; it happened almost every half hour. As for removing the packing, I prepared for that too—it feels like someone is pulling something out of your brain. Again, it didn't hurt, just felt awkward, but I guess that's individual. So, to everyone still undecided: don't be afraid. While you should listen to others' experiences, let your final decision be guided by your own gut feeling. I want to be clear: I'm not trying to praise Dr. Tony or trash Dr. Ostojic. Regarding Dr. Ostojic, I still get the impression he is a top-tier expert; I just believe that during our first meeting, he had one vision in his head and I had another. Right now, reading your posts, my biggest worry is whether I'll get bumps, cartilage growths, or breathing issues, but hopefully, everything will be fine. Cheers everyone, and sorry for the long-winded rant...
