Maria Diaz79 said:Thanks, Jerry Torres74. I actually just called an acquaintance who had this surgery, and she told me she couldn't see straight on day two or three. That’s a relief to hear. Did you still have some minor spotting for a few days after yours?

I sneezed pretty hard and felt my nose fill with blood at one point on the first day. Nasal tampons can only soak up so much, so if you were bleeding heavily during the procedure—which seems likely given how swollen you are—the tampons might be full, leaving some leftover blood to leak out. (Don't take my logic as medical advice; it's just my own theory.) Honestly, I don't think you need to worry unless you start heavy bleeding or feel it draining down your throat.

Yeah, that’s exactly how it looks to me too. The tampon just soaks everything up, and then, well, there's still a tiny bit of leakage.

For those of you who have gone through nose surgery, please tell me: on your second day post-op, were you still seeing a little bit of spotting? And how long did you actually keep that gauze held up underneath? I’ve been reading that bleeding after the packing comes out is one of those potential complications, and honestly, I'm starting to get a little spooked.😢

So, I stumbled upon this on www.mayoclinic.org regarding bleeding: A little bit of bleeding is actually pretty normal during those first few days following surgery, and you might deal with some stiffness for a couple of weeks. Your surgeon will likely tell you to avoid blowing your nose for a week or so while the tissue heals.

Maria Diaz79 said:Anyone else out there who’s had nose surgery? Tell me the truth—is it normal to still have a little bit of spotting on day two? And how long did you actually keep that gauze pressed up there? I'm reading online that bleeding after they pull the packing can be a complication, and now I'm low-key freaking out. Is this normal or should I be worried?😢

I was changing my pad constantly, which meant my tampons weren't even catching everything—not that it was a huge deal. But once I pulled them out, the bleeding just wouldn't stop. They had to pack me with gauze, so I was basically on lockdown for three days. Honestly? Not a big deal since you get used to it. And when they pull that gauze out? You don't feel a thing!

Has anyone here actually gone under the knife with Dr. Boric? If you have, please, for the love of God, reach out!🙄

I finally took my tampon out today. Nothing major to report. No bleeding at all. I can actually feel that swelling starting to subside, which is a relief. It was such a wonderful sensation when I could finally catch a whiff of my own scent 😉.

Have you looked at your nose lately? Does it look upturned? Did he mention anything about lifting it or whatever? And does Glumicic actually show off photos of his work?

He shows you some pictures. A woman who saw him before me told him she didn't want a Miss Piggy nose, and when I arrived for the final consultation, he proactively told me, "It won't look like this," while lifting his own nose with his finger 🙂to demonstrate. It seems to me that quite a few women ask him for this. For now, I still have my mold and I'm completely swollen, so I don't have a real picture yet. It feels slightly lifted, but isn't that how it has to be at the start? Every nose eventually settles over time.

I know what you mean—it’s like breathing for the first time. Even after eight days, I’m still getting used to breathing through my nose. Sometimes it's mouth breathing, sometimes nose. If it gets clogged, I just clear it myself. Are your senses hitting you that hard too? Honestly, my sense of taste feels totally off right now; everything tastes weird when I eat.
Now those stitches are starting to itch.

It’s been 9 days since my surgery and I’m still feeling this throbbing pain right at the base of my nose. It’s a bit red, too, so I’ve been using cold compresses on the area. Can anyone who had nasal bone fractures weigh in? Is this normal? Most of the swelling has gone down elsewhere, so I can't tell if I'm dealing with a localized hematoma or something else.

I’m constantly breathing through my mouth because my nose is perpetually stuffed up. It clears up for a split second, only to clog right back up immediately. I can't even blow my nose; I can only manage to clean it out slightly using some antibiotic ointment. I just have to hope things improve in a few days. As for me, they actually had to reset a broken bone—it’s been four days now, so I’m in no position to be of any help to you (the swelling hasn't gone down yet). I've stopped using the compresses altogether. Which Dr. Tony was your surgeon?

I had my surgery just a month ago. Believe me when I say this is all perfectly normal, especially during those first few days. I’ve been through this process quite a bit, so I know... even now, it still hurts if you touch the area, but that’s just part of the deal. It was major surgery after all 🙂

Did they take the splint off yet? How does the nose actually look—are you happy with the result?

They actually had to break a bone for me, too—today is day four, so I can't really be much help (I'm still pretty swollen). I've stopped using the compresses. Which Dr. Pepsi did you have your surgery with?

At Tony's. Honestly, when it gets really bad, I get so frustrated with the congestion that I just want to grab a Q-tip and gently clean it out, even though my sister strictly forbade me from digging around in there. My doctor mentioned that people who had both aesthetic and functional corrections need to keep things clean, but man, I wish I could just clean it from the inside out. Did you have a deviated septum or something that requires all this cleaning? And what kind of antibiotic ointment are you using?

Ladies, tell me—are you all living in constant fear of accidentally bumping your nose? From what I've gathered, you really need to exercise extreme caution for at least six months 😢.

My doctor told me that people like us, who have had procedures for both aesthetics and functionality, actually need to keep it clean. But if I had my way, I’d just clear everything out from the inside. Did you happen to have a deviated septum, which is why you need to clean it? And what exactly is that antibiotic ointment for?

I didn't have a deviated septum. At Glumicic's office, it's clearly stated in the instructions: a gentle cleaning of the nose using cotton swabs and an antibiotic cream—Geocorton.

Look, my nose looks great—honestly, it looks exactly like how I wanted it to based on some photos from when I was a kid. It's the sensation that's bothering me. It doesn't hurt enough to require painkillers, but it feels like there's a 10lb weight sitting on my face. I had a hard time sleeping last night because the feeling is so irritating. I messed around with it a little, and now there's this tiny bump you can feel when you touch it, and if you look really closely, you can see a slight protrusion. I know it should stay tender for a while, but did yours fade away completely? Please tell me more... I'm getting a little worried.

Thanks, heading straight to the drugstore now...
To be honest—and I mean this literally—my nose is the first thing to act up, then everything else follows. Kissing feels like I’m made of glass, and even just washing my face is a struggle. I picked up some cotton pads and some skincare stuff, so I'm taking it slow. I went to the movies yesterday, and let me tell you, putting on makeup took twice as long, and getting it off? That was a whole ordeal!
