I’ve always been a huge fan of that "soft rock for the hairspray crowd" stuff—you know, artists like Neil Diamond, Rod Stewart, Elton John, and all that. There's plenty more where that came from, too. Throw in Cher or UB40... though, I guess Chris Rea probably doesn't count as a total lightweight anymore. 😛

Is there anything more haunting than the hollow ache of Chris Isaak’s "Wicked Game," a song that seems to capture the very essence of beautiful, inevitable heartbreak? Does anyone else find themselves wondering if we ever truly escape the gravity of a love that was destined to break us from the start?
Is there anything more haunting than the way a melody can linger in the mind like a ghost, much like Falco’s "Jeanny" still haunts my thoughts after all these years?
Is there anything more profoundly bittersweet than the realization that true devotion often requires walking away? One wonders if Dolly Parton’s original sentiment or Whitney Houston’s powerhouse interpretation captures that specific, aching ache of letting go more authentically.
Is there any greater testament to the human condition than that desperate, aching yearning to truly grasp the essence of affection? One can't help but wonder if we are all just wandering aimlessly through the dark, searching for a light that might not even exist.

Perry Como, Doris Day, Dean Martin, and even the soundtrack from "My Fair Lady" have been on heavy rotation for me lately. 🙈
I suppose I also tend to stumble into the 80s quite often—think Dead or Alive's "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" or maybe some Taj Mahal...

Wait, did someone mention Fly Robin Fly? If we're going there, I’d certainly add Shirley Bassey's "Shame" and Sylvester's "Do You Wanna Funk" to the list.

There is enough of this music out there to actually become a cause for concern. 🤣

Queen is honestly such a cheesy band, but man, I absolutely adore them! 🙂
(I mean, I caught Killer Queen on the radio the other day, and let’s be real—that song is a total masterpiece and incredibly tacky at the same time!)

As far as more recent cheesy stuff goes, my absolute favorite is Mika (I actually hear some similarities to Queen in his style!)
Also, that last album from Scissor Sisters is pretty catchy too.

Oh, and I have to mention that the Depeche Mode tracks sung by Martin Gore are super sappy, but honestly? Some of them are just straight-up amazing.
