Lies we love

Chris Debru and the Lady in Red — they were actually going at it on another forum recently... Chris Debru—is he some kind of genius, or just a total loser?🙈

except, in my estimation, Perry Como and Dean Martin do not qualify as mere crooners.🙂

😘

Indeed, one constantly hears commentary in films regarding unknown being far too sugary and catered toward housewives; perhaps I have simply watched too much television, allowing such tropes to seep into my subconscious.🍿 🤔

And then there is Dean Martin and that distinct Italian-American accent of his.😍

"When tha moon hits your eye lika a big pizza pie, that's amoreey!"🙂

Garbage is trash?😲 😕

Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love😢
Back in the day, Robbie Williams
And some of our old favorites from those classic US pop compilations

I listen to nothing but 80s hits. 🤷

Michael Jackson - (Billie Jean), New Kids on the Block, Mariah Carey, Scorpions, Roxette, Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias Jr., Tony Bennett... Oh, and Toni Braxton and... Jasmin Stavros

Man, what a year—it was heavy, just soul-crushing. Every time I'm sitting here alone in the dark, my heart just aches knowing she's gone.

And someone just brought up that classic ballad—Tonight those eyes see right through the walls, tonight sorrow builds its nest for me, the wind carries the scent of longing... man, it hits hard.

Roxette, seriously? 🙂

Roxette 🙂

Roxette 🙂--seriously--

You've got to be kidding me.🙄

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, isn't it?🙂 😂

Yeah, absolutely—just like how people feel about Taylor Swift😍... strange that nobody else brought him up...😁

I have a massive weakness for Portuguese lyrics. There’s just something about the way they sound—so powerful and soulful, never cheap or tacky. 🙂

My love, my love
my body in motion
my voice searches
for its own lament.

🙂

hiddenskipper59 said:It’s the same vibe as when Kit Richards grabs the mic. I mean, alright, let's be real, it's not like Mike is some kind of songbird or anything. 😉

but at the end of the day, what actually matters is whatever it is that has kept them going for forty-five years now. And honestly, if you're asking what's missing from Mike's vocals, please, spare me.

Jessica Sanders89 said:Mate Mišo is definitely NOT a poser

Well, if Mate Mišo isn't a poser—then I guess Black Metal is basically a steamroller

David Nelson74 said:But honestly—the most important thing is that they've managed to stay relevant for forty-five years now. And besides, what exactly is wrong with Mike's vocals? Please, let's be reasonable here!

Look, Mike is a decent enough guy... but the Stones have basically become a glorified, traveling jukebox at this point. It might just be time for them to finally call it a career.

Hey! What a joke!
Love ya!
Come on, John, just get it together!

🙂

😂😂😂

So, "You Spin Me Round (Dead or Alive)" was already brought up... man, that track is such a cheesy classic, but I still love it. Same goes for "Big in Japan - Alphaville," "Vienna Calling - Falco," "Hungry like a wolf - Duran Duran," and "Don't You (Forget About Me) - Simple Minds." Total gems. ☕

The 90s—and especially the 2000s—are just stuck in this muddy, tasteless sludge that I absolutely can't stand. Everything from '89 and earlier? Pure, elevated musical genius, if you ask me.
