Mark Brooks87 said:Yeah, I thought of that too, but I’ve never actually felt that "ovulation" temperature before. If I took it, it would be around 99°F, but I wouldn't feel it. Now, though, I can feel it—like this weird heat in my head. I'm not sure what to make of it anymore. I popped some Tylenol today and Advil yesterday, but my temp won't budge from 98.4 or 98.6 until late tonight when it finally drops to 97.9. Usually, my temperature stays higher in the evening, but now it's dropping. I'm just lost at this point...

If you're in the second half of your cycle, that's probably it. I feel it sometimes and other times I don't. We aren't machines...

Here we go again... I’m sitting here at 99 degrees, and honestly? I am about two seconds away from losing my absolute mind!
I feel like I’m walking through a fog constantly—just zero energy, nothing but heavy eyelids, and my brain feels like it's stuffed with cotton wool.
And yeah, obviously, being the genius that I am, I didn't bother going to the doctor for blood work when this first started happening.🙄

If it helps, mine is still hanging in there too 😢 at 37 all day long... How are you holding up with ovulation? Are you in the second half of your cycle yet?

Yeah, I am, definitely in the second half of my cycle... but I'm on the pill. Honestly, though, I actually missed three doses this month... don't even ask... hopefully nothing crazy happens, right? Plus, I've never really "felt" ovulation happening. I actually used to think I didn't even ovulate at all, until—surprise!—I ended up getting pregnant.
But now, my doctor is basically warning me that I should probably get my thyroid levels checked... ugh...
Do you ever get that feeling where you just feel totally exhausted, sluggish, and just... blah?

For years now, I have been stuck with a persistent temperature ranging between 99.0 and 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit. I have gone through every single diagnostic test imaginable—doctors were throwing around theories about mononucleosis and urinary tract infections—only to eventually be told that nothing is wrong at all! Apparently, this is just my baseline. It’s absurd! I don't even feel "sick" when I hit 99.4; in fact, when I actually start feeling run down and assume I've caught something, I find relief when the thermometer finally drops to 98.2. I honestly haven't a clue what to make of it, but the specialists ultimately concluded it was just some neurological fluctuations and insisted that this is simply my body's natural set point.

I always hit 98.7 or 98.8 during my luteal phase. It drives me crazy because everyone insists it doesn't count as a temperature shift, but I know what I'm feeling. When I'm sitting at 97.5 instead, I feel completely wiped out and miserable. 😢

I’ve still got this 37 feeling lingering, starting right around ovulation. I guess we'll see how things look once my period actually arrives... but man, it really gets under my skin... 😠

So I went to see my doctor today because my temperature has been sitting between 98.6 and 99.1 for five days straight. She told me that if this were actually ovulation, I shouldn't be seeing these numbers first thing in the morning—they should be hitting in the afternoon instead. She also insisted I need to be measuring lying down immediately upon waking up.
Regardless, she sent me off to get blood work done tomorrow.

Honestly, I’m losing my patience here. My entire body aches.😢

Yeah, I was reading up on these temperature readings this morning while I was still lounging in bed. I checked earlier today and hit 98.2°F, then it climbed to about 98.7°F later in the afternoon. It was pretty much the same pattern yesterday—peaking during the day and then dipping down to 97.9°F by evening. Honestly, I feel absolutely wiped out, just totally drained and achy all over... plus, my period should be starting any day now...
The whole thing is just getting so frustrating...

It’s possible for that ovulation temperature to linger right through the start of a period until progesterone or estrogen levels 😕 finally bottom out.

I think I mentioned this before, but my own temperature spiked once just because of a sinus infection; I went in for scans and it turned out to be full-blown inflammation.

Man, I was literally just about to ask that! Isn't ovulation supposed to happen right around the middle of the cycle?
My period is due any day now, so there is zero chance I'm ovulating right now, even though... well, you know...
Anyway, I'm heading to my doctor tomorrow because I completely lost my voice today and I feel like absolute garbage. This whole situation is driving me insane and, honestly, starting to get a little scary...

In a standard 28-day cycle, ovulation usually hits on day 14, but that’s a simplification. My own cycle fluctuates—sometimes it’s 26 days, sometimes 29—so my ovulation shifts between day 12 and day 15. Even that "minus 14" rule isn't foolproof; some women have shorter luteal phases after they ovulate. Your temperature climbs during and after ovulation because hormones are prepping the uterus just in case conception happens. If it doesn't, the hormones drop, the temp falls, and the whole cycle resets. Did you lose your voice? Maybe ask her for a throat and nasal swab; you might be dealing with an infection 😕

😠 Oh, great. So what am I left with in a 28-day cycle? Just a couple of days with a high temp and then nothing else. What a wonderful life we lead as women.😠

I just had bloodwork done, so we'll see. I took my temp this morning right when I woke up and it was 98.6, now it's 99.1, and it drops by the evening...
We'll see, >, what happens once our periods actually arrive.😕

I went in for bloodwork, so we'll see. I checked my temp this morning right after waking up while still lying down and it was 98.6, now it's 99.1... it usually drops by tonight...
We'll see, Mark Brooks87, what happens once our periods actually arrive.😕

Mine drops in the evening too, clearly... 😕
Yeah, I'm also counting down the days until my period starts so I can finally begin tracking properly.😉
Just us women, obsessing over every little degree...

Honestly, I find this whole thing pretty hilarious... because my body does the exact same thing where my temperature just tanks once evening rolls around!
It’s kind of the same deal for me—I headed in this past Monday for all those standard tests, you know, bloodwork, urine samples, the whole nine yards... and the doctor basically told me that if my levels look fine, specifically my blood sugar and a few other markers, then these little temperature dips are usually just attributed to stress... hm...

Well, I suppose I’ll join this group too... for months now, I've been dealing with this persistent low-grade fever ranging from about 98.2 to 99.5 degrees.
It seems to follow a pattern where things feel fine in the morning, staying under 98.6, but then it climbs toward that 99.5 mark sometime in the afternoon, only to dip back down again by evening.
I haven't actually bothered seeing a doctor yet, mostly because, I guess, I don't really feel sick.

Welcome to our little group of weirdos 😉

I finally got mine, and I went straight to measuring: yesterday was a steady 98.2 all day, then I forgot to check this morning, and now I'm at 98.1... but considering my cycle was 30 days this month and my temperature started rising on day 13, this whole ovulation temperature theory isn't really adding up for me... 🤔 And now, it's dropped again right after I got it... honestly, why am I even overthinking this? I clearly don't have a clue... 👎

But still, I love seeing that 98.1 on the thermometer 😬

Got my results today😁.
Temp hit 98.6 today after peaking at 99.1 yesterday, so we're finally cooling down👍
. Bloodwork looks perfect👍
