Melissa Moore39 said:It’s like almost half the month—maybe two days out of every week—where I just feel... off. Most of the time things are fine, but now they're starting to suspect an autoimmune issue because my spine is acting up too. I have an appointment with an immunologist soon, and I'm just praying this stops hitting me like this. It’s enough to drive a person absolutely insane.

Good grief... I mean, is it even possible for you to get anything done or function normally when your temperature is spiking like that? What did your bloodwork show? Does it actually point toward something specific? I ask because my back is constantly killing me, too, yet my doctor just keeps pointing at my lab results as if they explain everything. He hasn't even sent me for a lung scan, which, honestly, is a relief since I'm a smoker. That would be a nightmare...

I hit a fever of 101.1 around 5 PM today and my head was absolutely splitting. It's down to 99 now, but I've got an appointment this Sunday.

My doctor told me my bloodwork should show something. My ESR is at 5, so there’s no way I have any kind of inflammation.

Has anyone actually talked to their OB-GYN about whether ovulation pain can be treated? Or are we just supposed to deal with this every single month?

I’m struggling just to get through the day... but I have to keep pushing because life doesn't just stop—even if doctors seem completely clueless about what's actually happening...😠

The idea that a standard blood panel would catch everything is honestly ridiculous. If I've been dealing with systemic inflammation for three years straight and my basic labs look perfectly fine, then maybe those doctors should actually step back and ask themselves why...
A simple CBC isn't the only indicator of inflammation. Everyone's body functions differently. People really need to seek out specialists—like an immunologist—rather than relying on general practitioners who, frankly, don't have a clue what they're looking at.

I only get a temperature spike during the second half of my cycle. Everything stays totally normal during the first half. Honestly, I haven't a clue why.

If you’re seeing those numbers only during the second half of your cycle, then you’re almost certainly looking at ovulation... mine consistently hits around 98.6–98.7°F... and I can tell the exact moment it crosses that threshold because my face starts feeling flushed immediately. It makes me wonder, though—what kind of specific testing can an immunologist actually run to pinpoint the issue? Give us the details! Who even referred you there? Was it your primary care physician, or did you just take matters into your own hands and book the specialist yourself?

Doctor, if we're looking at a combination of spinal pain and a fever—well, I suppose that might suggest something to him
how severe would you say your back pain actually is?
is it more of a muscular ache?

Good grief... I’ve been getting these sharp stabs in my back quite often lately—it feels almost like it's coming from my lungs, though that might just be because I smoked too much that day. On top of that, I’ve had this nagging pain in my pelvis for years now. It feels like it’s my ovaries or something, but every single gynecological exam comes back perfectly normal, my blood work is spotless, and even when the doctor listened to my lungs, she insisted everything was fine. Honestly, dear, I’m only 25 years old and I already have such an extensive list of ailments... it’s truly dreadful. Have you actually sat down and consulted with an immunologist yet?

Hey everyone, how are those temperature readings looking for you all? Honestly, I’ve stopped checking mine altogether because I already know what the number is going to be... 🙂 Melissa Moore39, have you managed to schedule those follow-up appointments with the immunologist yet? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything turns out fine.......

I got this one two days ago. Today is day four, so my period is basically wrapping up, yet I just had some spotting today. So much for my little theory on ovulation 😁
I am officially done tracking this crap!

Day 3 of my period. My temp is sitting at 98.2, but I woke up with those hot cheeks again... honestly, it feels like it might be higher. It’s probably for the best that I don't have a thermometer within reach right now, otherwise I'd be spiraling... 😬

You can maintain that temperature throughout your entire cycle until progesterone finally bottoms out... nothing unusual about it.

I finally had my appointment with the immunologist, and his takeaway was essentially that this is all stemming from systemic inflammation—apparently, I’m dealing with some kind of rheumatic autoimmune disorder. It might be a bit premature to pin down an exact diagnosis just yet, I suppose, but for now, they've just handed me a mountain of prescriptions and told me I need to be patient...

Good grief, at least someone is actually getting answers... maybe I should go see an immunologist myself. This constant burning sensation in my cheeks is becoming unbearable. What kind of tests do they even run? Is it just standard blood work, or something more intensive?

Everyone is still kicking and breathing... though, if that temperature isn't actually bothering you, I suppose there's no real need to exhaust yourself digging through all those searches... personally, my back and neck are absolutely killing me—to the point where I can't even get a decent night's sleep—and it’s certainly not just your typical lower back pain, so I'm not entirely sure what kind of discomfort you're dealing with myself.

Melissa Moore39 said:Everyone’s out there living their lives, even if they're feeling under the weather... but honestly, if the fever is the only thing bothering you, don't go down a rabbit hole of endless medical searches and stress yourself out. I deal with back and neck issues that are so brutal I can't even sleep at night. It's not just your typical lower back ache—I don't know what kind of pain you're dealing with, but mine is relentless.

Well, in my case, the lower back pain is tied directly to pelvic pain. I’ve gone through the whole gauntlet—OBGYN appointments, urology specialists, everything—and all my tests came back perfectly fine. I even had to undergo laparoscopic surgery to have a benign tumor removed, and despite that being successful, the pain persists. At this point, I've just accepted the chronic discomfort as part of my reality, but the fever is what really has me worried... Have you been prescribed any antibiotics or anything like that yet?

Just wanted to check in and report... my doctor ended up sending me for a chest X-ray because of this fever. The results came back mostly clear, though they noted some mild hyperinflation in the lung fields—which, honestly, sounds like Greek to me. Apparently, it's nothing to lose sleep over, but the damn fever just won't budge. It’s like trying to put out a kitchen fire with a water pistol. How are you ladies holding up?

🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 Just wanted to share a little victory here. I finally tossed my thermometer out the window about a month ago. I’ve officially decided to just accept those 98.6 readings 🙂 🙂 🙂

Joining the club here. 👎
After every bad bout of the flu, I’m left with a lingering low-grade fever around 99.5°F. There was one stretch about a year and a half ago where it just wouldn't budge; I went through every test imaginable before it finally cleared up on its own. 🙂
It's happening again this year. I spent about ten days sidelined, but the temperature is still hanging on. Then there's this cough—it makes me worry about something going on with my lungs. My doctor listened to my chest and told me there's no need for an X-ray, arguing that I shouldn't be getting unnecessary radiation exposure every single year. Still, I can't shake the anxiety. I'm terrified of some underlying complication surfacing later.
At this point, I'm at a loss. 😕
