Mark Brooks87 said:Just logging my temp from Sunday: 98.2... as long as it stays under 98.4, I'm good.😬

Logging mine too. Yesterday was a standard 98.6.

Oh, I can definitely feel it today... but we're already on day 18, so we've pretty much settled into that pre-period phase. That means our temperatures are starting to climb again 😬

I find it hard to believe we're actually out here... personally, I've been hovering between 98.6 and 99.5 degrees for nearly three years now—which, I suppose, remains a total mystery to my doctors. My temperature tends to peak in the afternoon, though it stays slightly elevated in the evening too; plus, during certain parts of my cycle, it’s noticeably higher than it is during the first half...
and I know this isn't my baseline, since I sit at a steady 97.8 when I'm actually feeling alright.
Whenever it climbs above 102, I deal with exhaustion, general malaise, and these nagging muscle aches—does anyone else experience something similar?

Exactly, Melissa Moore39. I just woke up feeling like I went twelve rounds in a boxing ring. My temp is sitting at 98.3 right now, but I know damn well it’ll be hitting 99 by this afternoon...

Here goes me too. Just woke up, and she woke up right along with me... My head feels like it's burning, and of course, I'm sitting at 98.4 degrees 🙄

At least you’ve got someone to hold onto, while I’m just out here fooling myself.😁

Regarding this condition—how long have you actually been dealing with it? I mean, are we talking about a few months, or has it been years now?
And just to be thorough—have you noticed any other symptoms or any sort of localized pain accompanying it?

Well, I suppose I’ll finally weigh in on the actual thread... I’ve been sitting here with this nagging low-grade fever—somewhere around 98.6 to 99 degrees—for years now. It’s constant. I had my tonsils removed three years ago, thinking that might be the culprit, but no luck; the sensation remains unchanged. Just a few days back, I went in for a full panel—CBC, electrolytes, coagulation studies—and everything came back perfectly normal. Absolutely textbook. So, what else is there to test? My doctor is just giving me the blank stare, offering zero answers or direction... yet I can still feel it, this persistent, localized heat radiating right through my head.

When it comes to running a fever, even a hug won't help much 😉

I’m right there with you... that constant heat in my head... I absolutely hate it 😠

I have a question for the group. I went to see my doctor regarding this persistent fever issue, and honestly, the whole encounter was maddening. At first, she seemed completely baffled by why my temperature stays elevated like this. She even ordered blood work, but since the results came back perfectly normal, she basically told me to just accept that this is my "new normal" and move on. Just deal with it. That's it. No further questions asked. It feels incredibly dismissive, like being told to ignore a smoke detector just because there isn't a visible fire yet. It’s like when someone tells you a rattling engine is fine just because the car hasn't broken down on the highway yet—you know something is off. I was reading online about how even high-profile figures, like Tom Brady, had to seek out specialists and immunologists for similar issues. If the blood work is clear, doesn't that actually necessitate *more* digging, not less? Surely we shouldn't just stop looking simply because one test didn't flag anything. I'm hoping I'm not just being paranoid... but what have your experiences been like with doctors? Does anyone else feel like they're hitting a brick wall when the standard tests come back clean?

frozenbison122 said:Hey everyone, I need a sanity check. I went to see my doctor because of this constant low-grade fever, and honestly, she seemed pretty stumped at first. She couldn't quite wrap her head around what "constant temperature" even meant. Since my blood work came back totally normal, she basically just told me to accept it—told me this is just my baseline and move on. But then I'm reading online about how people end up seeing specialists like immunologists for the exact same thing. If the basic labs look fine, shouldn't there be more digging to do? I really hope not... anyway, has anyone else dealt with doctors being dismissive like this?

I’ve been down this exact same road. I’ve been dealing with this weird temperature issue for maybe five years now. It started out around 99 degrees, then after my blood work came back clean, my doctor just shrugged and said, "That's normal for you." Then it crept up to 99.5, and now she has the nerve to tell me that 100 can be my "normal" temperature. They never actually find anything. To be fair, all she ever did was run some standard blood panels and an X-ray—since apparently, they think everything revolves around your lungs.🙄

My doctor just listened to my lungs and basically told me there’s nothing to hear, so there's no point in wasting everyone's time with more tests... Honestly, I've been dealing with this feverish feeling for four or five years now. Even though my back feels like it's being stabbed constantly—but hey, I am a smoker, so... I guess there are plenty of us out there dealing with similar issues.

Guess there are plenty of us dealing with the same thing.

But honestly, 100 degrees Fahrenheit feels a bit high to call "normal," even if I don't feel particularly terrible. Then mono hit me out of nowhere, and the fever stayed exactly the same before and after... maybe it's better not to overthink it. Every time I start scrolling through those "medical" websites, I end up finding ten different terrifying diseases that could be it. 😲.

Mind if I jump in here? For about four or five years now, I’ve been dealing with these little low-grade fevers every few months—just hovering around 99 degrees—and honestly, it’s been a whole thing. I’ve done the full routine: blood work, scans, every specialist you can think of, even seeing an infectious disease expert, and everyone just shrugs. My brilliant doctor basically looked me in the eye and suggested I should probably just stop checking my temperature altogether. 🙄
I don't know...

Dennis Lee68 said:but personally, I feel like 100 degrees is still pushing it for a "normal" reading, even if I don't feel particularly terrible right now. To make matters worse, mono just hit me out of nowhere, and my temperature hasn't budged an inch since... actually, let's just stop there. Once you start falling down those "medical advice" rabbit holes online, you'll find enough terrifying diagnoses to keep you up all night. 😲 .

Exactly. Honestly, once you start digging through textbooks or scouring the web for symptoms, you'll end up finding some catastrophic illness that just serves to freak you out for no reason. If you say you feel fine at 100, then that’s what matters. Besides, I trust my doctor—she says if anything were truly wrong, it would show up on a standard blood panel. It's like those people who run a fever of 95 and don't even blink; if you aren't panicking, why should you?

I suppose there are some people who feel perfectly fine even when their temperature hits 99.1 or 99.5—and they just shrug and accept it as their baseline—but for me, things are different. The second I cross that 98.4 threshold, it’s a disaster. I deal with muscle aches, exhaustion, and this general sense of malaise... it's been going on for two years now, and I know for a fact this isn't my "normal" temperature, because I feel absolutely terrible and completely drained.

If you say you feel fine at 100 degrees, then fine, believe it. My doctor told me if there was actually something wrong, my blood work would show it. Honestly, some people run a 95-degree fever and don't even blink, so what's the big deal...

So, are you consistently running above that mark every single day? And what kind of diagnostic tests have they actually run for you so far?

It’s almost like... I don't know, maybe two days out of every month, I'm just not feeling like myself at all. It happens enough that it's becoming a pattern—and honestly, most of the time things are fine, but this is different. Now they're starting to suspect some kind of autoimmune disorder—which is just great—because my spine has started acting up along with everything else. I have an appointment with an immunologist coming up soon, and I'm really hoping this whole ordeal wraps up quickly. It’s enough to drive anyone absolutely insane, I guess.
