Metal Fest

Would anyone even bother telling me this
like, could I actually go to Metal Camp, and where on earth is it located?

Check the page right above this—it’s the exact same thing I was asking about a few days ago.
Anyway, there's this festival happening in San Diego that's supposedly a total waste of time...

We're calling it off... those highway vignettes have definitely tipped the scales too far against us. 😠

So, a buddy and I are heading out to Metal Camp in Canada... looking for some folks to join us to help split the costs. Btw, the car runs on propane... would be cool if we had some girls coming along, or at least some girls dressed the part 😉)))

Besides, you can probably just take the backroads to get to Aspen, and since Canada isn't even that big, you're really only looking at maybe an extra 30 minutes of driving from wherever you're starting. 🤣

In my experience, those passes aren't strictly for the major highways; they cover all those high-tier state routes too. And those dusty little rural roads? Those are basically the bottom tier. We actually sat down and mapped out our route, and the verdict was unanimous: you absolutely have to grab a pass. 😠

If I had to go crawling through god-knows-what backroads and side streets just to end up getting slapped with some fine anyway... well, absolutely not. Honestly, we probably would have missed out on the MC Hammer show regardless because the funding meant for it never actually hit our pockets—it just vanished. But this? This is pure defiance at this point. I’m not handing over my hard-earned cash just so they can waste it.

Aw. I was actually hoping to make it out there last year... but I suppose it doesn't matter much now. 🙂
I've pretty much stopped listening to most of those commercialized bands. Lately, I've been digging into groups that the masses have never even heard of—the kind that aren't exactly planning on playing at Metal Camp anytime soon... 🙂

A buddy and I drove about four and a half hours from Chicago to Aspen—no toll passes needed. We caught the Flames and Iced Earth sets, and man, they absolutely crushed it!
