Susan Diaz91 said:I don't think you're pregnant. You had a period that was way too short. Usually, people with light flows just deal with more discharge, but based on what you wrote, it sounds like actual bleeding to me.

Was it two days of straight bleeding, or just some reddish-brown spotting???

Who are you asking? Me? I have zero clue. I just use Tampax and never even gave a thought to the "quality" of it. All I know is everything just stopped after two days. Honestly, it's not like I'm terrified of getting pregnant or anything. If it happens, it happens... I'll be happy. So I'm just gonna sit tight for a bit and see how things play out...

I was on Diane for a couple of years and honestly, I didn't have any issues at all. My skin cleared up beautifully, my periods were always regular, and my ovaries were perfectly fine. I actually only started taking birth control because of my skin. About two years ago, my OB-GYN suggested I switch to something else, claiming Diane was a bit too strong for me, so that's why I stopped.

Now I've switched to Yasmin, but I’m not really feeling it. I've noticed much more prominent veins on my lower legs and some cellulite that definitely wasn't there before.
I don't smoke, I eat pretty healthy, and I stay active... Basically, my lifestyle hasn't changed one bit since I switched, so it's pretty obvious to me that these new issues are being triggered by the pills.🤷
Once I finish this current pack, I think I'm going to stop taking them altogether.

Back when I was on the pill, I felt like I could predict my period down to the exact hour. It happened every single month like clockwork—same day, same time. It had the precision of a high-end Rolex watch. 😁

Donna Lee98 said:I’m not planning on taking them for another ten years, honestly. Of course I want a baby, but just not right this second. I’m just not ready yet, and I don't really have the means to get my life somewhat sorted out first. That's why I'm on the pill. I’d much rather deal with the side effects myself than be irresponsible and end up pregnant before I'm prepared.

So, which ones are you on? I guess I'm mostly worried about the whole thing with blood clots and stuff, so I've been having a hard time deciding...
And seriously, what's with the bigger breasts thing? I don't think I've ever heard women even mention that.

And seriously, why bigger boobs? Never heard a woman say that before.

I'm guessing it's the hormones. Those pills basically trick your body by messing with your levels... ugh, I need to remember that lecture I sat through once... 🙂
But nothing permanent. If they stopped taking them, things would go back to normal. (Assuming, logically).

But honestly, I don't actually know anyone who’s seen their boobs grow from them, and even if they do, how much can they really change?
It's actually kind of a curiosity for me. I personally know two women who have been on them for years and their chest size hasn't budged an inch,
it's almost like nothing happened at all. I mean, doesn't the pill basically trick the body into thinking it's pregnant so you don't actually ovulate?🤷

So, I was crashing at my girlfriend's place and ended up knocking back a couple of birth control pills with some beer... Now she’s telling me my chest is looking a bit more "buff" than usual, and honestly, I found myself checking out a cyclist's backside a little too hard... totally unintentional, obviously. What do I need to do to get things back to normal? I feel like a total wreck right now... what's the move?

I feel like a sweaty kangaroo covered in frog hair... help?

hahaha... if you aren't joking about swallowing those pills, then honestly, just relax. It's not permanent. Once you stop taking them, the effect wears off. 😂

I’m genuinely curious here. I know two women who’ve been on them for years and their chests haven't budged an inch.
Basically nothing. Don't birth control pills just trick the body into thinking it's pregnant so ovulation doesn't happen?🤷

Yeah, they trick the system, but it's all through hormone control. If you actually pay attention to your cycle, you know progesterone and estrogen levels shift constantly... so the pill just messes with that balance.
To be honest, I have no clue which specific hormone does the heavy lifting, but I assume adding one causes that slight swelling. Like, a friend of mine is a size A, and she told me straight up her chest definitely filled out once she started taking them.

I’m seriously on the verge of a nervous breakdown 😢. I took this Ergotermin and absolutely nothing happened—if anything, I feel worse. The bleeding hasn't slowed down at all; in fact, it's gotten more intense, and now I'm passing these massive clots. Does anyone actually know what's going on? My OB-GYN is only seeing patients in the mornings this week, and between my college classes and work, I can't make an appointment for the life of me. I am going to lose my mind by next week. I did a little Googling, and now I'm reading horror stories about tumors and the absolute worst-case scenarios. Please, has anyone dealt with something similar? Help me out.

A coworker at my office just dropped the bombshell that she's 21 weeks along... we all started teasing her about what she was hiding, and she told us she had regular periods until three weeks ago. Since she didn't have any other symptoms or weight gain, she didn't even panic until she felt those "butterflies" in her stomach—which turned out to be the baby kicking!

That's actually what I love—knowing down to the minute when I need to grab a pad.

I was on Yasmin for years. Now I'm taking Loestrin.

It's just interesting to me; I know two women who have been on them for years and their breasts are tiny.
I mean, doesn't the pill trick the body into thinking it's pregnant, so there's no ovulation?🤷

Look, your breasts aren't going to grow like you got implants. But do they get bigger? Yeah, they do. How or why? Who knows.

Hey, is it actually normal to have constant discharge without any other symptoms? I finished treating the yeast infection, but now I’m just stuck with this clear discharge—kind of like what happens during ovulation. Except, for me, it’s happening every single day now...

Ugh, tell me about it. I feel like I'm dealing with constant discharge too. My doctor told me it's totally fine as long as it isn't cloudy or has some weird, gross smell, but still...😁

Same here... though it isn't constant. It fluctuates. Sometimes it hits right during ovulation—like right now—which is actually helpful since I know I'm fertile. Other times it lingers after ovulation is over. Honestly, it’s never really worried me or made me think anything was wrong.

I’ve managed to get through one perfectly normal pregnancy without any drama.
A few months back, however, I started dealing with these bleeding issues.
After my period—which had always been completely regular—I began experiencing daily spotting. It wasn't heavy, per se, but it was accompanied by these absolutely debilitating pains and a sense of total exhaustion. Every single test, including my ultrasounds, came back perfectly fine; even the Pap smear showed nothing out of the ordinary. Eventually, it just stopped on its own.
And now, here we go again.😠
My lab work is fine, the ultrasound is clear, and the gynecologist says everything looks normal. There’s no UTI, no bacterial issues, and they’ve already ruled out an ectopic pregnancy. Yet, despite all those clean reports, I am still bleeding.
The pain is almost constant, and when the bleeding actually starts, the discomfort becomes borderline unbearable.
This non-menstrual bleeding has been dragging on for fourteen days now, and I can feel myself slowly losing my mind.😠
The doctors keep insisting they can’t find a physiological reason for the bleeding; all they’ve given me is a mountain of painkillers, but the underlying issue hasn't budged.
What am I supposed to do?
Has anyone else gone through something similar, or does anyone have any advice?

Maybe you should head back to the doctor and tell them the pain is so intense that they need to perform a much more thorough investigation.🤷 I find the current situation a bit suspicious.

I went through something similar a few years back.
About 15 days after my period ended, I started bleeding again, and it just wouldn't stop for 10 straight days.
I saw my OB-GYN, and they put me on some medication that finally cleared it up.
It hasn't happened since, though I did start birth control afterward, so who knows—maybe it would have returned if I wasn't on it.
My doctor never even bothered to explain why it happened in the first place.

But here’s the main difference: I didn't have any pain. That pain you're describing sounds suspicious. You're clearly hurting from something.

So, here’s the deal... my boyfriend and I were sleeping when a condom actually snapped on us, which was a total nightmare. We rushed straight to the ER and they gave me those emergency contraceptive pills—the ones where you take three right away and then another three twelve hours later. After I downed the first set of three, I felt totally fine, no side effects or anything. But then, when I took the second round of three in the middle of the night, I ended up throwing up about an hour later. The instructions say if you vomit, the pills might not even work, so I didn't want to risk taking another set of three immediately just in case they hadn't stayed down and I ended up overdosing. So, I waited out the full twelve hours and finally took the last three. Everything seems okay now, though.

I'm wondering, how many days should I expect my period to show up?

Has anyone else dealt with this kind of mess before?😉
