After a certain point, you lose the ability to delete or even edit your posts. If I recall correctly, once someone else replies to your thread, the option to delete disappears entirely, and the editing window shuts after about 30 days. Honestly, my memory of the specific site rules is a bit foggy on the details.

You can actually edit (and delete) things for five hours after they go live.
After that window closes, only a moderator can touch them.
Your IP address or how many people replied after you doesn't change anything...

I'm having some trouble accessing my messages—specifically, I can't seem to click on any discussion threads because they aren't even appearing on my screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

This user has already started at least five identical threads about the server crashing after the ISP went totally offline!

Is there no way to fix this? I have them saved in my older files but I can't actually open them—I'm stuck only being able to read the new ones...

I recall once attempting to edit an extremely old post, only to be told the thirty-day window had closed. I couldn't make any changes. That's where this comes from. 😁
