My schedule is tight and I'm worried about having enough time if I have to redo triage again before the second appointment.

You only do triage at the first entrance.
Just make sure you have your paperwork on you and you're good to go.

Kevin Morris12 said:Do I need a negative COVID-19 test for a "minor surgical procedure" at the Mayo Clinic? I mean, would they even bother performing it if I don't have one handy?

I've been calling them all day—just total radio silence—and even my primary care doctor doesn't seem to have a clue.

Just send an email to the clinic's administrative office.

Has anyone actually been in for a checkup at the hospital lately? From what I’ve been reading, they aren't even asking for anything at the entrance anymore—no tests, no COVID-19 clearance... hmm.

I was right there, and honestly, they weren't asking for anything at all. They didn't even bother checking temperatures.

They’re just messing with the staff's heads.
Everyone else walks right in however they damn well please.

I was at the Mayo Clinic last week. They asked if I had documentation, and since I didn't, they just noted it down, checked where I was headed, and took my temperature.
But that was just for routine exams and blood work.
For more invasive procedures, their website clearly states what requirements you need to meet.

Anyone know what TBN stands for when it comes to a general practitioner's office?
Like when a clinic uses the TBN label, for example here:
Thanks!

Usually, those kinds of reviews are for clinics where they keep rotating the doctors for some reason.

(Personally, I’m not a fan of that—I much prefer practices where I know exactly who I’m seeing and can count on seeing the same person every single time.)

I haven't even heard of anything like that existing. If they don't get back to you via email like they usually do, do you just call them up? I guess I feel a bit awkward about calling, though... I'm worried they might be swamped dealing with the elderly population and all the vaccinations, especially since the flu shots have started rolling out now too.

Do I actually need a referral for a standard eye exam with an optometrist, or can I just book an appointment directly?

1. Does anyone happen to know where I might find the shortest wait times in NYC for allergy testing using a referral?
2. Also, is there anywhere in the States that performs testing for polyethylene glycol (macrogol)? I wouldn't mind a private lab if that makes things easier.

Thanks in advance!

Hey there,
I actually just sent out emails to various hospitals and picked the appointment time that worked best for my schedule. Everyone I reached out to got back to me—places like Vinogradski, Holy Spirit, Rebro, and the Pulmonology department...

Medicare waiting lists, just Google 🙂 the search terms and it'll spit out all the facilities offering that exam, plus how many days you'll be stuck waiting...

Basically, here's the deal—I got a referral to see an immunologist, paid my co-pay $3.25 directly to my primary care doctor. Everything seemed fine, so I went through with the appointment. Fast forward seven months, and suddenly a bill shows up at my house for that exact same day, specifically asking for the co-pay again $9.25.
So, I gave them a call to figure out what on earth was going on, and all I got was some "blah blah blah, you have to pay" nonsense. I'm genuinely lost here...

Don't you have supplemental insurance? I'm guessing those initial 10 were just for the outpatient visit, whereas these 28 actually represent the charge for the full exam.
