Aside from taking your medical history and chatting about why you were referred in the first place, they just order some tests. Once those results are back, you go back in to figure out the game plan.

Once they schedule the scans, does that actually happen on the same day, or is there usually a wait...?
thanks!

It really depends on what kind of testing we're talking about. In my case, the nurse was actually pretty cool—she went out of her way to draw my blood right then and there and sent it straight to the lab. I didn't want to deal with dragging a small child back to a hospital on the other side of town just to do it all over again the next day.

Does anyone actually have a leg to stand on when it comes to getting sick leave after an arrhythmia diagnosis—you know, those crazy irregular heartbeats...

Hey everyone! Does anyone know where I can get my thyroid levels checked without waiting forever? I have an appointment scheduled at the Vineyard hospital for August, but last time I went through them, I ended up stuck in the waiting room for two or three weeks... 😢

Los Angeles, you're heading there at 8:00 AM every single day? I’d suggest waiting until at least 9:00 if you want to actually move.

So, I finally heard back from St. Jude, and they told me there’s no way to pre-order anything... they basically said I can just swing by any day whenever I want between 7 and 9 AM! 👍

I need to get my testosterone, androstenedione, DHEA, estradiol, progesterone, prolactin, T4, T3, and TSH checked. Does anyone know if I can get all of this done at a single lab? And where’s the best place to go? My doctor suggested I head over to the local hospital, but it looks like they require appointments, and I really need these results by October 6th.

Does anyone happen to know what time they start accepting orders for scans at the Dubrava hospital—specifically over in the Radiology department?

My GP just ordered mine directly through her computer. I had my appointment the very next day.

Does anyone know if I can get all of this processed at a single lab, and more importantly, where should I actually go? My doctor recommended I head over to the Mayo Clinic, but it looks like they require appointments in advance, and I really need these results back by June 10th. Any suggestions on where I can walk in and get this sorted quickly?

Give Vuk Vrhovec a shot.

You know, if you're looking to get things moving, you don't even have to deal with the website. You can actually just place an order directly via email. Isn't that much simpler? It certainly feels more personal to me, don't you think?

Well, the absolute worst just happened. Both my daughter and I have had our health insurance expire. I was planning on making a quick trip down to Washington, D.C. to grab some enrollment confirmation from the university right after the upcoming holidays—we honestly almost never visit a doctor—but then both of us fell ill over the weekend. The fever keeps coming back, there's constant coughing, and we're just completely exhausted... I’m at a total loss here. I'm in no condition to make the trek to D.C. to deal with the university right now. Is it even possible to just see a pediatrician to get my little girl checked out?

Does anyone know the fastest way to get to... Can you get an MRI of the head and spine using just a referral...? I called Nemetov, but turns out they don't have a contract anymore—typical. I’m going to try reaching out to Neuron at 9:00... If anyone knows of any other options in NYC or the surrounding area, please let me know.

They’re running ads on Facebook claiming they accept insurance referrals, so you might want to check in with https://www.facebook.com/sv.katarina

Hey everyone in Springfield,
does anyone know which number I should call to schedule a thyroid exam and ultrasound over at the clinic on Nuclear Avenue? I’ve never actually gone in for a full checkup before—I’ve only ever had my hormone levels tested—and I heard they moved things around there back in the winter.

I need some quick advice from someone who knows the drill. I’m heading to Cedars-Sinai for a spinal X-ray, and I know the deal—fasting for 12 hours, nothing but water. But what does "fasting" actually entail in practice? Also, should I bring my recent blood work with me? They didn't mention anything about it in the confirmation email. 😢

And one more thing—do I need to book a full hour for this appointment?

Does anyone happen to know which specific hospital in the city would be able to run blood work for the chromogranin A tumor marker?

Is there actually some kind of administrative desk at the local community health center where I can find out which doctors are failing to log insurance numbers? Honestly, it feels pretty ridiculous because I’ve already gone to the nurses twice to ask about switching doctors, and they just keep insisting everything is filled out correctly. I’m not about to go running from office to office like a lost puppy all day.

Thanks
