Why should I force myself to listen intently to something that pushes me away from the very first note? How many Manic Street Preachers albums would I have to slog through before admitting they just aren't my thing? I don't care if some superfan thinks I "don't get it." It doesn't click. Period. And how many Britney Spears albums did you guys have to suffer through before deciding she wasn't for you?😬
I'm with you one hundred percent, except for that tiny window of possibility Jose Miller17 mentioned. He said:

Eventually, I spent a few years pretending they hadn't even released that album... now, that record feels like my own kid.
Man, look what I went through...
But hey, people sacrifice everything for love... 🙂 😁
Basically, if I don't like music, I'll give it two or three spins. Maybe I'll find two decent parts in two songs, and that's it. I can't do it. It doesn't work for me.
Then, about six months to a year later -> 😲 😍
Of course, it doesn't always work. I could wait eight years for Britney and it still wouldn't hit. 😢 😁
Oh yeah, like Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible 😍 😁
