Heh, most people probably don't even remember this, but for me, it was the concert of a lifetime—every single second is burned into my brain. The absolute highlight? That intro when a totally wasted Tabata stumbled onto the stage, grabbed the mic, and blurted out something like, "Anyone got anything to get high?" in a mix of Japanese and English...

Anyway, after pulling a 40-hour marathon this weekend where eating and sleeping became non-existent, it’s no surprise I did absolutely zero prep for tonight’s haymarket riot—not even touching the pre-sale...
So, tickets will be available only at the door for the pre-sale $8.25... 😳

man, I just can't seem to learn my lesson about never buying tickets during the pre-sale window...
it felt so surreal when some kind stranger handed me a pass for $8.25 right outside a sold-out venue. It’s moments like that which remind you there are still genuinely good people left in this world. 🙂

No, wait, don't jump to conclusions immediately. I wasn't being entirely serious when I suggested I had no clue about it, $12 not really. It just seemed appealing because they were playing at Entrance 25, and since my budget is a little tight right now, it felt like a good fit. Maybe I phrased that a bit clumsily, but honestly, it doesn't matter.

Anyway, anyway, they cleaned up the club afterward 😁
Supposedly they were better than the first time, though I wasn't there to see the previous set. They actually really cheered me up; I hadn't heard them before, and they turned out to be exactly what I was looking for—loud, intense, nothing overly intellectual, but just great. I'm finishing up my thesis right now and my head is spinning from all the drawing, so their music was the perfect way to unwind.

Does anyone else think that guitarist in the green shirt looks exactly like that guy from Just a Fire? He’s a dead ringer, though I couldn't tell if he has that same kind of growth on his arm. 😁

They were great. But honestly, maybe my first time was just a little bit better... I can't quite put my finger on why.

The drummer and the guitarist—who also handles vocals, apparently—were so loud on stage that the PA system was practically irrelevant... That lunatic behind the kit wired up our drums the second he stepped on, because we realized pretty quickly his own gear was complete junk. Once he hit the snare for the first time, it all clicked—we’re now looking at 5mm deep craters in our tom heads. Even the kid from the opening act (yeah, seriously) said the head was totally shot 😲
And then you're expected to mix someone like that 🙄

The opening act was... uh... pretty rough 🤔

They had one or two hits that hit the mark, and everything else was decent enough, just nothing mind-blowing. I mean, they’re all super talented and really nice people, but they're missing that "it" factor—aside from those few highlights. But man, the sound quality? Absolutely killer! 🤣

But honestly, the real issue was that the bass guitar was basically non-existent because the kick drum signal just completely swallowed it up... though I guess it doesn't matter much. Personally, I thought they sounded pretty good, even if they weren't playing anything like Technicolor Bombs... actually, you could only really hear the bass when he stopped hammering away at that same beat.🙂
