Bronchitis finally caught up with me. I first dealt with it back in early January, and then just ten days ago, my doctor gave me the diagnosis all over again. 😢

I’ve noticed that humidity and steam—like when I'm boiling water for pasta—really mess with me, but it doesn't really hit until later in the evening. Right before I try to crash for the night, I start wheezing and coughing like crazy.

On top of that, I had some sharp pain on the left side of my chest yesterday. Please tell me I'm not having a heart attack at 27.😁

I honestly can't find any solid info online about whether I should be staying cooped up indoors or if it's okay to head out for a light walk?

So, what did your heart and lung X-ray actually show?

Did they run an EKG or check your blood work, maybe for something like a high CRP?

And what was the doctor hearing through the stethoscope? Like, were there extended expiratory phases, wheezing, or crepitations?

Also, do you have any mold growing on the walls in your place?

If you've been coughing for a while, that chest pain—especially when you're breathing deeply—could just be a side effect from the constant coughing.

CBC/Differential, Chris Rock levels?

What were the lung sounds like during auscultation—specifically, were you hearing prolonged expiration, wheezing, or crackles...?

Also, have you noticed any mold growing on the walls of your apartment or house?

If you’ve been coughing for a while now, that chest pain—especially when you're breathing deeply—could just be muscle strain from all the coughing itself...

The X-ray came back fine; there aren't any changes in my lungs or heart—everything looks clear.

The CRP is normal too... pretty much everything is okay, except for my granulocyte count, which is running a little high.

So, I headed into the clinic today because my shoulder has been absolutely killing me—apparently, I’ve got some calcification going on—and I was there to get a referral for a physical therapist.
Anyway... she does the whole exam, and then out of nowhere, she starts listening to my lungs and tells me she hears wheezing and that I have bronchitis.
I don't even cough! And yeah, okay, I am a smoker... but now I'm freaking out, why on earth am I being sent for an X-ray???🤔

Seriously though, I'm not coughing at all. I might deal with some mucus here and there, but nothing crazy, mostly just stuff from my sinuses acting up... since when do you send someone in for a specialized exam for bronchitis if they aren't even coughing???
I'm actually getting pretty scared here...

Opening this thread because I’ve been out on medical leave for five weeks now. It started with a sinus infection—bacteria came back positive for Klebsiella pneumoniae. I took some Augmentin, but then the extreme fatigue and chest pains kicked in. Had a Ventolin test and spirometry done; results were underwhelming. Bloodwork showed normal CRP levels, so they're calling it bronchitis.
For treatment, I was prescribed two different inhalers—one for my nose and one for my lungs. Now I'm just inhaling and resting. My primary care physician isn't keen on starting another round of antibiotics yet; she'd rather keep me on disability so I actually rest.
I went back for another nasal swab, and Klebsiella wasn't there this time. Instead, it's Citrobacter koseri/amalonaticus.

What worries me is whether it’s possible to have bronchitis or even pneumonia if my CRP levels are fine. I’ve been stuck in bed for five weeks. I feel slightly better, then the heaviness and chest pain return, along with this total weakness. My doctor listened to my lungs and says she can still hear something, so I need to stay off work. My sinuses are still mildly inflamed.

Should I be worried that this might actually be pneumonia? I haven't had any imaging done on my lungs yet. And should I be pushing for another antibiotic given that I've been out for five weeks? I'm feeling marginally better, but my chest is still sensitive and I have zero energy. Has anyone dealt with something similar? I'm following my doctor's advice, but I can't help feeling anxious.
