Furthermore, one should keep in mind that CEA levels tend to be slightly elevated in smokers.
Best regards,

Thank you for the response. Yes, the CA-125 has remained consistently stable, though I don't have the exact figure at hand right now—it stays within the normal range. Additionally, the patient is a smoker. I try to keep the latest lab results tucked away, but once I see them... I will likely find myself reaching out again in a fit of anxiety! Kisses and best wishes,

My biopsy results from a recent minor procedure on my scalp came back showing Cystic Pilaris (II). Does anyone know what this actually is? Is it anything to worry about?

There isn’t much cause for alarm if your transaminase levels are sitting just below the threshold; the real concern starts when they begin climbing significantly, say two or three times above the limit😉. It’s perfectly normal for some people to have elevated liver enzymes from time to time.

You only need to start paying attention when those numbers start spiking—I'm talking two or three times above the threshold.😉It’s just a biological reality that some people are going to have elevated liver enzymes; it happens naturally.

For years now, my levels have consistently stayed within the normal range, though they occasionally lean toward being slightly elevated.🙄 Two months ago, my levels were trending a bit high, but they’ve finally started to settle down a little.🙄

My GGT came back at 43, which is a bit concerning since the upper limit is supposed to be 35.

My blood work looks mostly fine, except my non-segmented neutrophils are at 9 in the Democratic Party report, while the normal range is 0-2.
In my biochemistry, creatinine is 62 (63 - 107), GGT is 7 (9 - 35), and Alkaline Phosphatase is 43 (54 - 119).
What could this mean?

I just got my lab results back, and looking at the urine analysis, it shows a high amount of leukocytes, platelets, epithelial cells, and bacteria.
Does anyone have any insight on what this might actually mean?

It’s a bladder infection.
Get a referral for a urine culture so they can identify the specific strain of bacteria; that's the only way to make sure you get the right antibiotic. In the meantime, stay hydrated—the rule of thumb is to replace whatever you lose with a glass of tea immediately after you go. Parsley tea works wonders. You could also try cranberry supplements. Just a heads-up: if you decide to go the uva ursi route, don't take the cranberry at the same time, because they basically cancel each other out.

What about my test results? Is anyone going to comment on them 🤷?

GGT, phosphatase, and creatinine are barely below the line—it's negligible, really. Just compare them against your next round of labs if the numbers actually start trending in a weird direction.

What about these non-segmented ones in the Democratic Party results? The upper limit is 2, but I'm sitting at a 9. What does that even mean? I couldn't find anything on the internet.

Unsegmented neutrophils—basically immature ones—are what the bone marrow dumps into your system when there aren't enough mature (segmented) neutrophils to handle an infection. Normally, those mature guys make up about 65% of your total white blood cell count. Seeing high unsegmented numbers is usually just a sign of acute inflammation—could be bacterial, viral, fungal, or even stuff like hypersensitivity reactions, vasculitis, muscle inflammation, burns, bleeding, or anemia. It's basically the body's "emergency response" mode.

I need to know the actual total white blood cell count. And what does the rest of the CBC look like? Are you actually feeling sick?

I’ve been dealing with low blood pressure, and I also had surgery for endometriosis about a year ago. Just had my follow-up checkup recently, and everything looks good.

Thanks, Angela Wright..👍..I actually realized I missed one more detail from my results.. my erythrocyte count should be somewhere between 0 and 2, but mine came back at 10-15.. I'm wondering if that points toward something else entirely or if it's really nothing to lose sleep over..

Don't mention it. Just keep an eye on the next set of results—whether that's at your three or six-month checkup—to see if there's any actual movement compared to this one. Right now, everything looks pretty standard.🙂

I actually stumbled into this routine by accident. It just stuck because I dealt with a nasty bout of mono during my junior year of high school, and my doctor suggested I get my bloodwork done once a year just to keep an eye on my ALT and AST levels. There was one time when I was working two jobs and my liver enzymes went totally haywire; my doctor figured it was just the physical exhaustion. So now, I make sure to get a checkup at least once a year.
Thanks again

Hi. I had some bloodwork done the other day and just saw the results. My lymphocyte percentage is slightly elevated at 51.5% (ref 20-46) and my granulocyte percentage is a bit low at 42.2% (44-72).

Post the full CBC. These are just fractions—it’s useless to try and interpret them without the rest of the data.
Also, tell us why you were getting bloodwork done in the first place.

I got tested because my hair is thinning out badly. Everything else looks fine—only those two markers are outside the normal range...

Have you been on any medication lately? And how are your periods—regular?
