You mean bacteria?😉
I honestly don't get why we have to be so cynical about every single thing that hits the market. I highly doubt dentists would even touch ozone therapy just to make a quick buck if they didn't believe it actually did something. Over in the US, ozone is already standard practice, and my own dentist tells me the results are killer. Honestly, I feel like dentistry is one of those medical fields where we're seriously lagging behind compared to the rest of the world, especially America. I’m not talking about basic fillings here since I'm no expert, but just look at the average American smile versus the average person back home. We barely have any cosmetic specialists, whereas over there, aesthetic dentistry is literally on every street corner! Porcelain veneers are such a huge thing, yet only a handful of people in NYC even touch them. It makes me wonder what kind of materials they're even using. I spent way too much time searching online for American dentists who work with Empress ceramic—you know, that high-end, metal-free aesthetic stuff—and I found absolutely nothing! NOTHING!👎 (btw, if anyone knows a dentist like that, shoot me a DM, thanks😉).
Look, I'm not trying to trash American dentists, but I'm genuinely worried this is the state of things here...😢 I really hope someone proves me wrong...

I mean, I guess medicine here in America is just kind of... subpar overall... 🙂

I heard there’s a way to handle dental work over at some clinic near the University of Chicago...
but apparently they charge about $133 per tooth—or at least, that's the word on the street...

Yeah, honestly, that sounds way too pricey for me right now. Looks like I'll just have to go visit my uncle and his power drill instead.

Here’s the link if you want to take a look... I don't think they have a price list posted online, but I guess that's what having a phone is for, right? Anyway--good luck!

Anyone got a solid recommendation for a good physiatrist in the Washington, D.C. area? Ideally looking for someone who’s actually been in the trenches.
I’m dealing with a pretty nasty trimalleolar fracture in my left lower leg—basically a displaced break—so I’m going to need some serious expertise and heavy lifting when it comes to rehab.
If you know any top-tier rehab centers, medical spas, hospitals, or even private clinics with programs that actually deliver results for stuff like this, let me know.
Thanks in advance.

So, there’s this physical therapy clinic over at the local aquatic center near the sports complex—it’s part of the Saint Jude Medical Center network... they absolutely worked wonders on my leg. I’m talking top-tier expertise and incredibly kind people, too. They really know their stuff.

The clinic on Savska 23

kind
attentive
patient
takes his time treating you
he actually cares about the little things...

takes pictures of every single step of the process...

seems fine to me so far

Jucer was at my first checkup, so we'll see how things play out 🙂 Scaling and polishing$100, just hoping my wallet survives, though if the work is solid, I don't really care about the cost.
I don't usually trust private practices—always feel like they're going to rip me off like some kid who doesn't know better—but what can you do? Not much choice here.

Is that one from the Mediterranean clinic through Medicare? I'm wondering what their rates look like!

To be honest, I haven't had much luck with dentists up until now. They were all incredibly sweet and polite, but the actual work they did was just a total disaster! Every single one seemed to make things even worse than the last... and since I'm such a huge phobic about all this, it’s been quite a struggle for me 🙂

MARIJAN, DR. SC
DENTAL CLINIC
Washington, D.C., Jurišićev 21
Phone: 202-555-0144

If you’ve got the cash, he’s the real deal—though he isn't exactly breaking the bank either. He takes Medicare, but honestly, I think he’s mostly sticking to his long-term regulars and might not be taking on new patients right now...
I went to see him once and he was fantastic—my wife has been seeing him for years now.

Anyone got a solid recommendation for an ophthalmologist in Washington, D.C.?😘 I need to get new lenses sorted out ASAP, and honestly, I’m done seeing Dr. Bilić... I've been going there for a while now, but it's time for a change...

If you’re looking for a government facility, you can’t go wrong with physical medicine at St. Jude’s. They have some really great, highly skilled specialists and their rehab program is solid—definitely the best option in NYC if you're going through Medicare.

I honestly don't get why people bother seeing an ophthalmologist unless they’re dealing with a massive prescription or some actual eye disease—it feels like overkill. Usually, you just pop into an optical shop, get a quick exam, grab some contacts, and call it a day. That was basically the whole routine for my partner—she’s sitting at maybe a -2 prescription, so it wasn't exactly a medical emergency.

Absolutely not!!! 😱
If I had followed that logic, I’d be staring at a -5.5 prescription by now. Most of the eye specialists working in retail optical shops are pretty mediocre 😢 (...apologies to the exceptions). I once showed up with symptoms of an internuclear lesion, and the "expert" there told me to just stay home for ten days because he couldn't see any issue with my eyes! 😠 Let me be clear: I walked in there experiencing double vision (diplopia) and a killer headache. I ended up at Mount Sinai ER, where the specialist ophthalmologist spotted the internuclear lesion with one glance and rushed me straight to neurology. I'm not trying to scare you—it doesn't mean you're definitely sick—but I wanted to point out that you have every right to demand the best care for yourself. Unfortunately, those retail eye techs usually don't care about anything other than slapping a prescription on you and moving to the next customer. And don't even get me started on contact lenses... they treat you like you're at a fast-food drive-thru: "Tell us what you need, sit down... here's your lens, here's your power, now get out." Seriously, go see a real doctor. 🧐 Your eyes are your eyes, after all... 👋

My private physiatrist, Dr. Matthew Hughes over at Mayo Clinic, managed to sort out my herniated disc in just a few days.
You just need to have plenty of cash on hand, though.

Wonderful, thank you! Does anyone else have a slightly more budget-friendly suggestion? 🙂

Otherwise, could you provide an example of a price point just so I can gauge if it's actually steep... thanks!

And what specifically about his approach won you over so much?
