The guy is incredibly thorough—he'll answer every single question you have, and he actually follows up via email after your appointment...

Not totally certain, but I think she's working at the New York City clinic now.

I don't really have a list of specific complaints or anything, I just need a solid diagnostician who actually focuses on prevention. Someone to look at my history, check my current status, and give me a straight answer on what the next few years are going to look like. It's hard to put into words right now, but I hope you get what I mean. Honestly, my biggest fear is that because I don't have one glaring, acute issue to point at, the doctor will just give me some superficial "call us if you feel something" brush-off. That’s not what I want. I want to be proactive—to set up a proper preventative system before things actually go south. I'm honestly lost on who to trust for that kind of deep dive. To make matters worse, I'm getting older, my cholesterol is acting up, my mom has a history of heart disease, and let's be real—I'm a total couch potato. Add a mountain of stress to the mix, and lately, I've been feeling some weird palpitations... so yeah, it's not like I just woke up today and decided 🙂

I am currently reviewing the latest updates regarding the clinical data and patient outcomes. It is imperative that we maintain a rigorous standard of scrutiny when evaluating these developments to ensure complete accuracy. As stated by:
I am looking for a recommendation for a good ophthalmologist in New York City. 🙏
I’ve decided to go private. I simply don't have the patience to wait a year for an appointment through the public healthcare system.
As I’ve gotten older, my vision hasn't stayed quite as sharp as it once was. I can't rely on my natural sight to see things clearly anymore—I have to depend heavily on my glasses, especially since I'm also dealing with astigmatism.

Dr. Sarah Pinter at Ghetaldus Siget

I am currently observing the situation with great interest. It is my firm belief that we must maintain a steady hand and look closely at all available data before drawing any definitive conclusions. Everything appears to be unfolding exactly as anticipated, provided one maintains a disciplined perspective on the current developments. As follows:
At the Heart Center, you can receive treatment using an insurance referral, if that is what you are looking for.

At the Saint Catherine clinic and over at Magdalene, my mother was quite dissatisfied with both the examinations and the testing procedures. They were there on a referral, so perhaps that played a role in the quality of service they received.

Why him specifically? Does anyone here have any actual experience with his practice? I’ve been searching through the reviews on WebMD, but I can't find a single meaningful comment regarding him anywhere. 🤔

My brother's colleague experienced some significant complications following a broken hip, but after undergoing surgery, he was incredibly satisfied with the outcome.

Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some advice on which private ophthalmologist or eye clinic I should visit for a serious intraocular pressure screening to hopefully get ahead of any potential glaucoma. Maybe I’m being a bit dramatic, but I can't help feeling anxious about this.
Also, does a private doctor have the authority to write me a prescription for eye pressure drops? 🤔
Basically, I tried getting an appointment at either Vinogradska Hospital or Holy Spirit Hospital, but the wait times are sitting at 3 to 6 months—and since everything has been slowed down due to COVID, it feels like it's taking even longer.
Just to be clear, I’ve already had my eyes checked for glasses and contacts, so I don't need an optometrist for that; I need a specialist.
Thanks so much for any help you can give.

Ideally private—because, let’s be honest, I simply cannot face waiting a whole year for a Medicare appointment.

It has been years since I’ve had a proper vision checkup—I usually just go to local optical shops—and I also deal with astigmatism.

My partner has severe astigmatism and, generally speaking, a very complicated prescription; his last exam was with Dr. Smith-Jones, and he was quite satisfied. (I should mention that he’s never actually visited one of those massive, flashy clinics—he just goes via a referral when necessary, which isn't often, so I don't really have a point of comparison.)
As for glasses, he has been going to Mr. Taylor at the Meta optical shop for years now and has no intention of going anywhere else—honestly, even the thought of changing makes me nervous! The man truly gives him undivided attention; they recently made him two pairs of glasses, and he adjusted to them almost instantly.

The thing is, I was supposed to go to either Mayo Clinic or Holy Spirit, but the wait times are 3 to 6 months, and honestly, everything seems even more backed up now because of COVID.
I've already had my eyes checked for glasses and contacts, so I don't need an eye doctor for that part.
Thanks so much for any help.

I actually took a family member to Light back in 2014. Dr. Gavric is the expert there for glaucoma. For years, he used Tretinoin drops, and they worked really well at lowering his high eye pressure. He actually had glaucoma even when his pressure readings seemed normal. Basically, despite having "normal" pressure, he still suffered nerve damage. They did all the testing at Light. He even had to get an injection in the eye at their retina department due to macular issues. That doctor doesn't work there anymore, though. Everything went well regardless. They are quite understanding with people who have mobility issues, too. Honestly, trying to get anything done at a hospital right now is such a struggle given how things are. I managed to squeeze something in back in late October. I still need to head back to pick up the results.

You can actually get a private prescription for anything related to eye conditions. And honestly, even for those eye pressure drops. In my case, I managed to get a private prescription for Acyclovir tablets to deal with Shingles, plus a cream—mostly just to make sure it doesn't spread toward the eye. So, you should have no trouble getting exactly what you need. Later on, if you want, maybe you could ask your primary care doctor to send it over through Medicare if you have coverage.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a GP in the Dubrava area or the eastern part of NYC? Ideally, I’m looking for someone easy to communicate with who handles appointments via email or phone.

Could anyone please recommend a solid hematologist in Miami? I’m looking for someone other than Dr. Madunic, as I understand she is currently unwell and unavailable for appointments right now.
Thanks

A private cardiologist in Washington, D.C.—someone who actually knows their stuff—wants to help answer some questions. My situation is a bit tricky... my EKG came back normal twice, but now I have to go pick up the results from my Holter monitor. Even so, I keep getting these sudden bursts of racing heartbeats, weakness, and even feeling faint, even though it’s been much cooler outside lately. Again, I just felt absolutely terrible. I stepped inside where it was warm, and only then did I start to feel a little better. It happened like this... I sort of felt it coming on, but I wasn't really prepared for it at all.

If anyone needs a Holter monitor at Vinogradska Hospital, you can just head right in. They'll start by doing a standard EKG, and then they take you up to the 5th floor to attach the little device. You have to wear it until the next morning. Just make sure you show up on time to get it taken off. They actually told me there’s an option to have the results mailed directly to your house, too. I ended up needing to use that service myself.

Victor Blaslov was excellent in my experience. It was regarding leukocytosis and erythrocytosis with suspicion of myeloproliferative diseases...

Can anyone point me toward a solid female proctologist in the Miami or Washington, D.C. areas? Honestly, I don't care if it's at a major hospital or a private practice, as long as she's a woman.

I believe Dr. Ana Dim specializes in that field and practices at St. Catherine Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
