Is it actually possible to have glaucoma if my vision is still 20/20 and my eye pressure is sitting at 18?

Honestly, after what I dealt with yesterday, the way people are talking about doctors being on leave or filling in is just a total disaster—the whole mindset is off. At the end of the day, I just need someone with solid medical knowledge. Everything else is secondary. I need someone who will actually write me a referral when I'm in acute pain because they actually want to help. Ideally, they should be near a subway stop and someone who isn't afraid to speak their mind. If they happen to have an EKG machine in the office, even better; I know some places used to have them. I definitely don't want that one specific health center in Brooklyn, but any other one is fine. I think the real issue started when I spoke up while my immobile patient was already in a really bad state. The home health care service knew next to nothing; they were meddling in everything and making my life harder. It would be great if you could just walk in without an appointment and get basic referrals, because based on yesterday, I don't think anyone there gives a damn about me.

That’s why I'm pissed. She didn't give a single damn about me, not even a little bit. Plus, it's a trek to get there. And then to top it off, some totally unnecessary comment from them—nobody even asked me! My life is my business; they don't get to dictate what I do.

Since I don't want to deal with the ER near my place, she could've just given me a referral to see a cardiologist—someone I actually trust and have already seen before. That should be an option. Honestly, I've had good luck with those kinds of swaps in the past. She started lecturing me about some ultrasound, which I actually paid for privately back on January 7th, and haven't bothered with since. Like, excuse me? She doesn't get to dictate how I live my life. Plus, she made that same unnecessary comment twice now, acting like she makes my decisions for me. When my dad was in the nursing home during his last month, the doctor there wrote him an emergency referral and ordered medical transport without any drama. No issues at all. Even though he was technically registered under a different doctor, the guy assigned to the facility just handled it. He actually respected my input.

Honestly, I’m not picky at all—it could be someone you see privately or even through one of the big hospital networks, it really doesn't matter to me. I just want to find someone reliable, I guess! Any leads would be amazing, thanks! 🙂
