A friend of mine is looking for a plastic surgeon to fix her earlobe, and I was wondering if anyone knows a good specialist at a hospital in Chicago who takes Medicare referrals? She’s got supplemental insurance, so she wants to go that route. Basically, her earlobe split slightly in one spot because she wears these heavy, oversized earrings all the time. It’s been over two months now and it hasn't healed on its own, so it really needs to be stitched up. She asked me for my take on it... My first thought was definitely a plastic surgeon, but now I'm thinking maybe an ENT might actually be the better call since, well, it involves the ear and the lobe area.

If anyone has a specific doctor they could recommend for this kind of thing, I would be so incredibly grateful.

I'm currently on the hunt for a decent dentist and a gynecologist around the New York City area, so I was wondering if anyone here has any solid experiences or recommendations?

The other day in Trnski, I stumbled upon Silva Babic's OB-GYN office. Does anyone actually have experience working with her?

Thanks in advance! 🙂

Hey! Yeah, I've been seeing her for quite a while now and I couldn't be happier. Honestly, you won't find a better gynecologist out there—she’s incredibly attentive, explains everything clearly, and will point you in the right direction whenever you need specialized care.👍

If anyone knows a solid dentist who’s taking on new patients under Medicare, I’d be so grateful if you could DM me their info! 😉
So, I actually got this "letter" from Medicare a few days ago saying my current dentist didn't renew their contract with them, so I have to find someone else. Honestly, I have zero clue who to go to or even where to look since I've been seeing the exact same guy since I was a kid 🤷
I live over in New York City, but location isn't really a huge deal for me—I just really need someone who's good and actually accepting new patients 😉

Look, I've got you covered. Give Reizinger Marina a call; she's an amazing dentist. Here's her cell: 091 7916119. Seriously, she's great.👍

Alex Hernandez922 said:I went to check in with Dr. Sigmund today, and honestly, the nurse caught me completely off guard—and not in a good way. I really hope the doctor herself is actually decent (I've heard nothing but glowing reviews about her), but since everything seems to run through the nurse here, I can't help but wonder... has anyone else had a rough encounter with her, or did I just happen to catch her on a particularly bad day? I think her name is George Tabak?

So, I was browsing another subforum and saw someone mention that Dr. Sigmund might be out on maternity leave—is there any truth to that? And if she is, are they even still taking on new patients?

Anyone have any leads on good gynecologists in Sioux City? I'm looking at Dropulić and Kos, but I’d love some honest feedback before I commit to someone. Honestly, I'm just looking for a solid doctor—someone professional and easy to talk to. Doesn't matter if they're male or female, as long as they know their stuff.
Also, has anyone dealt with Dr. Stepanić over at the campus health center?

Oh, one more thing—has anyone seen Dr. RAČKOG? He's based over on Runjanin. I heard their office has great equipment, but what’s his actual bedside manner like?

Well, you could always check out the "New York City gynecologists-Medicare" or just the general "gynecologists" threads in the women's health section—or simply give him a quick Google search! Honestly, the doctor himself is quite good, but his practice is absolutely slammed with patients. I am not entirely certain if they are even accepting new patients anymore, so if I were you, I might tread carefully. I recall trying to sign up with him back in April last year, only to be told my appointment wouldn't be until August—the crowds have been getting progressively larger, haven't they? It seems like someone is constantly trying to squeeze into his schedule. And the waiting room? Oh, you'll be there forever! You really ought to arrive before business hours start because they hand out numbers; if you snag a number, you can sit and wait, but if you miss out... well, you might as well just head home for the day. The women sitting in the waiting area look just like a swarm of locusts, all lined up and waiting patiently.

Anyway, I’ve been meaning to get some routine screenings done for quite some time now—and I’m the type of person who prefers a specific process, you know? My ideal way is to have my OB-GYN write a referral, then head to a private clinic to provide the sample, pay the fee, and take the specimen along with the referral to the lab. With this doctor, that particular workflow was supposedly never an issue; in fact, I managed to pull it off a couple of times myself. However, on one occasion, he informed me that I wouldn't be receiving a referral, but would instead need to come directly to him for the swabs. And frankly, I don't have the patience to sit there for hours like some poor soul!
👎 🙂
In any case, my interactions with him have been limited to paperwork and consultations—I haven't actually been on the exam table yet, so I can't speak from firsthand experience regarding his bedside manner during a procedure. That said, when I did a little digging, I didn't encounter any negative reviews specifically about the doctor himself. And believe me, there are plenty of gynecologists mentioned on this forum who have picked up at least a few criticisms! During our consultation, he was quite cooperative and helpful, though I suppose one wonders if the increasing crowds have changed his demeanor lately.

I know I’m probably going to get roasted for starting yet another thread on this topic, but honestly, the more I read through all these discussions, the more paralyzed I feel about picking a surgeon...
Some people swear by one guy, while others absolutely trash him... if you don't mind, I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually gone through this procedure or just has some solid advice on how to vet someone... maybe via DM if you'd prefer...
To be specific, I’ve been looking into Dr. Glush from Florida. Apparently, he can wrap everything up in a single day using the latest tech... since I’m based in New York City, I’d really rather not deal with the travel if things don't go perfectly, though on the flip side, it feels a bit ridiculous to have to walk around with a head bandage for two weeks straight...

Again, sorry for circling back to this same old question, but here we are... 🙂

p.s. My apologies to the mods if this is in the wrong section

thanks...

I was wondering if anyone might be able to point me toward a decent dentist who accepts Medicare over in the West Side of New York City, specifically somewhere around Baruna Filipovica street if possible? 🙂

Just checking in to see if this thread is still active... Does anyone know which orthopedic specialist or clinic has the shortest wait times right now? Ideally, I'm looking for someone covered by Medicare rather than a private practice. I used to see Dr. Bojanić over in Seattle, but his schedule is completely packed—I'm looking at a five-month wait just to get an appointment!😲

ironsurfer10 said:Just thought I’d breathe some life back into this thread... does anyone happen to know which orthopedic specialist—and let's be clear, I'm looking for someone through insurance/Medicare, not a private practice—has the shortest waiting list right now? I used to see Dr. Bojanić over in the city, but honestly, his wait times have become absolutely ridiculous—five months! Can you believe that? Who has the time?😲

My dear, sometimes you just have to be patient—good things take time, right? I was actually just out grabbing a salad the other day, thinking I might finally place an order with those gourmet catering folks over at Panera Bread, but then my sister chimed in to tell me they aren't even taking new orders until September or October! Isn't that just typical? 😂 I didn't quite have the nerve to push for an earlier slot—honestly, I think waiting it out might have been the wiser move anyway. So, they finally scheduled me with Dr. Berg—I don't actually know anything about his reputation or his practice, mind you—but my appointment is set for March 24th. That means a two-month wait... can you believe that? As for how I'm feeling right now, I wouldn't exactly say I'm doing great, though perhaps "better" is a bit of a stretch. This is actually my first time visiting this facility; up until now, I’ve only ever seen an orthopedist at a private clinic.

I’m not entirely certain which other clinics in the area follow that model—it seems like such a specific niche—but I know for a fact that Medikol accepts patients with referrals from Medicare. Their website is, frankly, a bit of a disaster—quite clunky and lacking in detail, really—so you might find it more efficient to just pick up the phone. Why bother clicking through broken links when a quick call can settle everything? You should ask them directly if they have an orthopedist on staff—what their name is, of course—how frequently they actually visit the clinic, and, perhaps most importantly, what the current wait time looks like for someone coming in with a referral. It’s always better to be certain, don't you think?

Has anyone been to Runjanin's office to see the dermatologist Dinko Kaliterna?
Any feedback? I had an exam today and I'm on the fence about continuing my treatment there.

I had an appointment today and now I'm second-guessing whether I should stick with the treatment plan he gave me.

Wait, why isn't Dinko at the Gundulic clinic instead? And what's making you hesitate about staying on the treatment?

Not quite. It's because his fees are astronomical, he's pushing a treatment plan that's completely out of sync with what other dermatologists recommend... and frankly, I'm just not a fan of the guy 😳, so I'm curious to hear what others have experienced or thought about him.

I was actually just at the clinic looking to book an appointment with Dr. Bojanic, but my sister told me they aren't even taking new patients until September or October. 😂 I didn't even dare try to look for a specialist because I figured I'd end up waiting forever anyway. So, they referred me to Dr. Berg, whom I don't know anything about, but I'm scheduled for March 24th—so, two months from now. Honestly, you can't really do much better than that right now. This is my first time navigating this system; I've only seen an orthopedic surgeon once before, and that was through a private practice.

edit: I'm not sure which other clinics offer this, but the Medicol clinic does accept referrals. Their website is a little clunky, so your best bet is to give them a call and ask if they have an orthopedist on staff, what their name is, how often they visit, and what the current wait time is for someone using insurance.

I called Bojanic’s private office, and the exam fee is $200!!!! Good grief!

In the end, I called Medicol, and they scheduled me with a physiatrist—they don't have an orthopedist available—under a Dr. Cetinić in two weeks. I explained my situation to the receptionist, and she mentioned that seeing a physiatrist is perfectly fine if the wait for an orthopedist is too long; it shouldn't hurt to go to the physiatrist first.

Thanks for the info.😉

My mother lives with asthma and relies on a CPAP machine.
She manages her chronic condition with a specialist we’re incredibly happy with.
That said, she really needs a reliable primary care physician—someone who understands how to handle the frequent infections and viruses she picks up, especially since her medications tend to suppress her immune system.
The biggest issue is the waiting rooms. She can't afford to sit for hours in a crowded clinic. Nowadays, if she runs even a slight fever, she almost always ends up in an infectious disease ward at the local hospital, and in about 90% of cases, she ends up being admitted.
So, my question is: is there a general practitioner out there where we can get her seen quickly when she develops a fever without her having to endure hours in an overcrowded waiting room? We are more than willing to pay for private care to ensure this happens.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the heads-up.😉

If you really need an orthopedist and can't wait, Dr. Mladen Miškulin at the Etela clinic on Palmotić Avenue charges $133 for a visit, while Dr. Saša Tiefenbach over on Petrinja Street seems a bit cheaper...

I highly recommend the first one, though the second is perfectly fine...

I live on the west side of town, but I’m making the trek out to Central Park today—heading over to Broadway to see Dr. Smith - Jones. Honestly, she is just wonderful. If only I could find a gynecologist who is half as good as she is!

About six months ago, I headed over to Madison Avenue—I can’t quite recall the doctor's name right now—but I didn't have to wait even a month to start my therapy.

Speaking of private specialists, I haven't really had the best luck with them personally.

As for me, I'm currently hunting for a solid gynecologist covered by Medicare, honestly doesn't matter which part of the city she's in.🙂
