Hey, does anyone know a really good GP in Chicago? I'm looking for someone solid. Ideally somewhere near Central Park, Saint Louis, or maybe around Petrov...

Thanks! 🙂

If you’re looking for top-tier private dental care, there are some great options over in Cleveland on Pomerio 21. You can see a dentist there, and Dr. Zoran Dimitrijević is a solid choice—really high-quality work. Plus, they have an excellent prosthodontist on staff, which is a huge plus.

Here's a link too; I'm pretty sure dr. Tamara Stradiot is exactly who you're looking for.

I was actually wondering about that clinic over in Siget (Siget 18a)
is it any good?

I am currently on the lookout for an endocrinologist—specifically someone who specializes in adrenal gland disorders. I’m really hoping to find someone with a warm, approachable bedside manner rather than a cold, clinical type.

On another note, does anyone have recommendations for where I might go for physical therapy using my Medicare referral? Is there a particular clinic in town that people swear by?

Additionally, I’ve started needing to see a rheumatologist as well.🤣

Thanks so much in advance for any leads! 🙂

And please, for the love of god, don't send me some sour-faced jerk. I can't deal with a doctor who treats me like a nuisance.

Also, I was wondering—if I’ve got a referral from Medicare, where’s actually the best place to go for physical therapy?

And I'm out here hunting for a rheumatologist too. Seriously. 🤣

Thanks in advance! 🙂

Honestly, if you end up at the trauma center, the physical therapy there is actually solid. Plus, you won't be fighting through a massive crowd just to get seen. It’s surprisingly chill.

So, I'm basically hunting for an aesthetic dentist who can handle some teeth whitening, but it’s a bit complicated because I’ve had some work done before—one tooth even had a root canal, so yeah, it's a little messy.
I've been doing a bit of digging online and scrolling through this forum, and I've managed to pull together this list. Now I'm just trying to narrow things down, so if you guys could please hit me with any pros or cons for these specific places, I'd really appreciate it:

Personally, I find http://www.studio-dental.com/ to be the most reliable option based on our email exchange. Good luck with the decision...

Either way, it would be great if you could check back in after the appointment to let us know how the treatment went and how you’d rate your dentist.

Hey everyone, does anyone have a solid recommendation for a dermatologist in Washington, D.C.? I’m dealing with some serious facial issues now because of some incredibly reckless steroid treatment I was given that I didn't even need in the first place. Since I'm asking, I also want to take this chance to warn people about two doctors, Lesić and Augustus Saint-Gaudens (the Lesić dermatology clinic over by Times Square, Washington, D.C.), who really did me dirty.

Thanks everyone.

If it doesn't strictly have to be a woman, you won't find anyone better than Anton Beaković (right across from the train station in Cleveland)... I've tried six different dentists in Washington, D.C., looking for that same level of skill and care, but nobody even comes close.

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to kick this thread off for anyone hunting for a decent dentist in Indianapolis. I'm 43, and honestly, I've been through the wringer with plenty of different offices over the years.
Zubarija: I’ve seen most of them, and my best experience by far was with Prpić Josip. He’s a younger guy and incredibly meticulous. He did a bridge for me and pulled three teeth, and I didn't feel a single bit of pain once. He even sent me to a surgeon for some stitching after the extractions to make sure there wasn't a crater left behind—which, frankly, is more care than most places bother with. That kind of $50stitching
makes a huge difference. The extraction ($33)
The bridge was $333 priced per tooth, which is actually only $67 a little more expensive than those basic clinics you find tucked behind a grocery store. His office has a waiting room with a TV, and they actually run on schedule; I never had to sit around waiting. Plus, they don't charge you until you're actually happy with the work. He's super conscientious and easy to negotiate everything with. The only real downside? He doesn't have an X-ray machine on-site, so if you need imaging, you'll have to swing by the local community clinic first.
I'm giving him a solid 5 out of 5 stars 👍

Dr. Polak over on European Avenue—also a younger guy, but I really wasn't a fan. I went in just to get one filling replaced, and without even asking me, he went ahead and gave me three injections, swapped out three fillings, and then slapped me with the bill for all of it. Total money-grabber who clearly doesn't care about patient comfort or what you actually came in for. I wouldn't set foot in there again.👎

Dr. Filipović—located right behind the supermarket—is your standard doctor who takes Medicare. She’s hit or miss; sometimes she's in a great mood, sometimes she isn't. If you're looking for someone covered by Medicare, she's probably your best bet.👍

Dr. Haring Vladimir and his wife—I've visited both of them, and while their office is really nice, I wasn't impressed. They churn through patients like they're on an assembly line, and it feels like they aren't truly invested in doing the job right. He’s slightly better than her, at least when it comes to actual skill.
By the way, Haring's wife is Dr. Polak's sister.👎

Siber—way too expensive. The wife is alright, but the old man isn't practicing anymore. I saw him once, and the guy loves to grind down your teeth without even offering an injection. To top it off, he and his wife will talk about you right in front of you like you aren't even in the room. The guy is a total moron. His son runs things now, but I haven't been in to see him yet.👎

Anyway, those are just my two cents. I know people are going to disagree, which is exactly why I'm starting this thread—so everyone can share their own stories and draw their own conclusions.

Mod edit:
Moving this thread to its proper home in the "Looking for a Doctor..." sticky. We shouldn't be opening individual threads like this because they quickly turn into either massive ad campaigns or venting sessions that stretch on for dozens of pages.

Man, I honestly can’t even with this. Look, I’m a dentist, and I swear I’ve never heard anything stupider. First off, you don't pay for stitching—that's just not how it works. And what Rekoti said? Total nonsense. You aren't going to be left with some massive crater after an extraction. Also, about that bridge... you're throwing out prices without saying what you're actually getting. Just pick a doctor based on who you vibe with and who does the job right, you know? All these biases you're pushing feel like a cheap commercial for Osijek dentists. I'm not from that area, I don't know any of those doctors, and I'm definitely not out here trying to plug anyone, but people are seriously talking nonsense.

ps Regarding that metal-free ceramic thing—it has to look great because there's no metal backing, which gives it that "translucent" look. It's not actually transparent, it just has transparency, which you can't pull off with metal. There are basically two options: E-max or CAD-CAM (zirconia). E-max almost always cracks within two years, but if you go with zirconia, I'm telling you, it's probably the most perfect restoration you can get. But yeah, that's why it's so pricey.

I need to get some bloodwork done—basically a full panel. Does anyone have a recommendation for a private clinic that’s easy to reach by light rail? I’m still getting my bearings here in Washington, D.C., and I’m not exactly a pro at navigating the transit system yet, so the closer to a streetcar stop, the better. Thanks in advance!

I’ve just been handed a referral for an abdominal ultrasound, and I am curious if anyone here has firsthand experience getting this specific scan done at a private clinic. My primary care physician informed me that the wait times at local community health centers are currently stretching to two or three months, and frankly, I have no intention of waiting that long to get answers. I did a bit of preliminary research online, and it seems that $100 the cost of seeing a private specialist can vary quite a bit... If anyone has gone this route recently, I would sincerely appreciate your insights. Thank you in advance...

Honestly, forget dealing with private companies; just head straight to a government agency to get this sorted out.

You can get an abdominal ultrasound done at a private clinic, sure, but honestly? You better do some digging first. Make sure you find out which major hospitals actually work with them or take their referrals, especially if things turn south and it becomes an emergency.

Last year, I actually went to Dr. Cavka’s private practice—he's a primary care physician there. Back then, they were still accepting insurance referrals, though I suppose things might have changed since then? It might be worth checking in to see what their current wait times look like if you're going through your provider's referral process. If you decide to just pay out of pocket, though—well, you can usually get seen within just a few days.

Medikola also accepts insurance referrals.
