Does anyone have a solid recommendation for an aesthetic surgeon? Specifically looking into nipple reduction and dealing with some mild gynecomastia. I stumbled upon Dr. Ostojić’s website and the Barbel clinic online, which looks interesting. I'm currently based out of Chicago, so I'm trying to figure out my options.

If I decide to switch my primary care physician, am I expected to go pick up my physical medical records from my old doctor and hand-deliver them to the new one?

Last year, back in September, when I switched dentists, I didn't have to deal with getting my files from the previous office at all. I guess I'm just wondering if the process works the same way when you're changing general practitioners.

Try Dr. Basio at the local clinic near downtown... he was fine with me. But since it’s a private practice, I don't know if you're looking for that.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a solid dentist in San Diego? I'm fine with someone covered by insurance or a private practice... just as long as they actually know what they're doing!

Check out our fellow member Susan Rodriguez4. From what I know, she's based in San Diego and hangs out in this Reddit thread about dental stuff.

Thanks for the tip, man, but as much as I dream about living by the coast and soaking up the sun, it hasn't happened yet. I'm still stuck here in Chicago.

My bad 😁 clearly I totally misread the situation

Who should I see in Washington, D.C. to get a dental crown? It’s not exactly cheap, so if anyone has a solid recommendation on where to go, let me know.

And just when I was starting to feel hopeful 😢

Unfortunately, we live in a country where mental health is still treated like some kind of dirty little secret. People tend to look at anyone struggling with their mental state through this dark, judgmental lens, even though—let’s be honest—pretty much everyone deals with something. Some people just deal with it occasionally, while others are fighting a constant battle.

I'm pretty sure I fall into that chronic category, and I think it's finally time to actually do something about it. I've been dragging around this depression (self-diagnosed) for ages now, and its roots go all the way back to my childhood and some of my earliest memories. I always had this nagging feeling that everything would eventually catch up with me, and well, here we are. It’s been simmering under the surface for a long time.

After reading through the entire "Depression?" thread, it really hit home how many people are going through this. It seems like there's finally a shift happening, where mental illness is being viewed more like any other physical ailment. It feels like people are starting to realize that given the state of the world right now, having mental health struggles isn't exactly weird.

All this context is really just leading me to one thing: I need recommendations. Does anyone know a solid psychiatrist in the Washington, D.C. area or the surrounding suburbs? I’m curious about what private sessions cost and whether it's actually worth paying out of pocket—is there a significant difference? Or are there better specialists available through Medicare? I’d really appreciate any advice or leads, specifically regarding treatment for depressive states.

I honestly think I fall into that chronic category, and I’m starting to realize it’s probably time to go out and find some professional help. There's one guy who's fantastic. His name is Ivan Bojanić and he practices over at Salat. To be fair, the waitlist to see him can be a bit long, but he's truly excellent. As for private practice options, I honestly don't have any info on that.

So what? It’s not like you have to walk in there acting like you have a broken leg just to talk to him; you can just vent about your life or whatever problems are weighing you down.
I mean, honestly, does it even matter if he's a psychiatrist or an orthopedist?🙄

Where in Washington, D.C. can I go for a private consultation and expert advice from an experienced Type 1 diabetes specialist?

Why does it have to be private? You can handle all of that at the Vuk Vrhovec clinic. They specialize in diabetes, and you can probably just pay out of pocket if you don't have a referral.

I'm from Canada and I don't have American insurance, so I'm wondering if I can see a dermatologist at Shalatt privately?
Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a good dermatologist in Washington, D.C.? I have a rash on my chest that they couldn't fix here in Canada. Has anyone had experience with the Phoenix clinic?
thanks!

I bet everyone takes cash, so why wouldn't they at Shalatt. Just try seeing Dr. Kostovic there.

I’m looking for a recommendation for a specialist at the Mayo Clinic—specifically within the clinical immunology and pulmonology departments.

The issue is quite specific: I'm dealing with inhalation allergies and am interested in exploring desensitization treatments.

I appreciate any insight you might have.🙂

I was wondering if anyone might be able to point me toward a reliable dentist or perhaps a dental clinic in the Indianapolis area—specifically one where the practitioner possesses an abundance, and I mean an absolute mountain, of patience? I am quite desperate to finally address my ongoing dental issues, but I find myself completely paralyzed by a truly profound and overwhelming fear of dentists. Thank you all so much in advance for any guidance you can offer.

So, here’s the deal... it feels like finding a gynecologist in Chicago is actually impossible. I’ve been calling everywhere for two days straight now, and apparently, nobody is taking new patients.
Laguinina, Mirogojska, the area around the cathedral—I even checked out places near Newark.
Today, while I was dropping off my records at my doctor's office and asking her if she knew anyone else I could see—since I'm honestly at my wit's end—
Just as I walked into the exam room, there was this elderly lady being seen, and she overheard everything. She tells me she has this amazing gynecologist and would love to recommend him, except—of course—he isn't accepting new patients either.
And I’m just standing there thinking... how incredibly convenient that an older woman, who can barely walk and probably doesn't even have a uterus anymore 🤷 still has a gynecologist, while I—right when I actually need one—have to scramble around, pay for private doctors, and throw money down the drain because the whole system is just so broken...
I have to admit, today really got under my skin, so here I am, venting.
And just a heads-up, I’ve rewritten this three times already because I kept typing things out, deleting them, and getting way too sarcastic and biting for a public forum.
😳
If any of you happen to know a gynecologist who is actually accepting new patients, please let me know. I’d be so incredibly grateful. Thanks in advance. 🙂
