2. That Dr. Dre track is a catchy little tune; I found it pretty funny, even if it isn't my style. But hey, it's fine for walking outside; people will literally Rage if you don't have something decent on. Honestly, I rarely even hear stuff like that since I mostly stay isolated from that kind of music (😁)

Regarding the US—I might complain about being stuck in a rut, but even then, smart guys like you just start talking trash for no reason.
As for college—I never actually said sex was terrible, so you're just making things up again... I was talking about other stuff entirely.
Philosophy—I don't recall being treated poorly there; we actually got along quite well.
And if we are discussing certain genres of music, naturally the conversation will drift into religion and politics eventually, because unfortunately, some music is an expression of exactly those things.
As for why I stayed up late, it was simply because I went to bed too late one night.

I definitely agree with you there. But honestly, it’s just as foolish to blast music that sounds like pure screaming and chaos (I’m not even sure if that’s the specific track you guys are talking about).

If they’re going to insist on playing music at school—which is pretty silly if you ask me—then they should probably stick to something "neutral" that won't offend anyone's ears.

I’ve never really been able to get into gospel music myself, and I think I know why. Back when those two gospel singers joined Jennifer Lopez on tour, they actually ended up throwing off the whole vibe of her songs. 😁 It really doesn't matter what we talk about, but I was just sitting here wondering what would happen if they actually started playing gospel music in public schools. Honestly, wouldn't that be incredibly awkward and just totally out of place?
Honestly, I think we should just scrap music programs in schools entirely and call it a day.

Personally, I prefer to listen to my music at home, and I have never once requested that anyone play the stuff I enjoy because that music is meant for my own ears and maybe a few people with similar tastes, but it’s definitely for my soul and not for a school setting.
My only real issue is that I don't want to be forced to listen to foreign genre music that doesn't really belong in an American high school, neither that nor anything overly commercialized, though I certainly don't have a problem with standard pop or rock.
Honestly, the best solution would probably be for them not to play anything at all.

In my school, the group in charge of the intercom is basically a bunch of hippies, and honestly? It was a total blessing the day they enrolled. They play music that is damn good without being some pretentiously underground stuff—just the other day I was listening and heard Red Hot Chili Peppers followed by... well, you'll recognize us by The Dandy Warhols. ruggedjackal46, look, I don't go around hating on anyone, but if I had to pick the most difficult group to deal with, it would definitely be those ultra-religious Muslims because of how extreme their fanaticism can get. I think there are plenty of people out there who might celebrate Eid or feel a connection to their heritage, but they aren't hitting up the mosque every single day, they aren't fanatics, and they aren't out there glorifying Jihad and all that stuff.
I have two female friends and one guy in my circle whose fathers are Muslim, yet none of them are religious or primitive in any way; they are just totally normal, grounded people.
Then you have this one guy from my school who is a hardcore Muslim, he's at the mosque every Saturday, he has entire pages of the Quran memorized, he's constantly speaking Arabic, and he won't stop preaching about Islam and Jihad and all that nonsense.
As for whether certain types of Islamic music are inappropriate for this part of the country... honestly, let's not even go there because it's just not worth the argument.
