So I hit the nail on the head. 😉
Don't be so modest; I spent my fair share of time downloading questionable compilations back in the day... 😉
Actually, let me be the first to admit my hypocrisy: this whole mess is happening because my Kazaa isn't working. But then again, it looks like that era is finally coming to an end for him too... 😢 🙂

Look, I hate to disappoint you, but your assumption is completely off base. I haven't downloaded a single song from the internet in my life. I do have one burned CD, though—and that was only because the album wasn't available on disc at the time, so I had a friend burn it for me from a cassette tape. Sure enough, I ended up with another one just like it, except the difference is that this one is the original...😉 😉

....I don't have a single song downloaded from the internet....

So how exactly are you buying albums then?
I mean—it’d be common sense to download a few tracks just to check them out first...
Looks like you got a bit too stuck in that "everything must be original, nothing else matters" mindset of yours..
Do you just buy albums blindly?
Or do you only pick up stuff you hear from a buddy or on the radio (ha, as if 🙂)?
How do you even stay informed?
I honestly don't get you 🙂

It seems perfectly reasonable to download a few tracks first just to test the waters...
I suspect you’ve become a bit too obsessed with this rigid "everything must be original" philosophy of yours...
Do you just buy albums blindly based on a hunch?
Or do you only pick up what a friend mentions or what happens to play on the radio (ha, as if 🙂)?
How do you actually stay informed?
I don't follow your logic at all 🙂

No, downloading a few tracks to sample them isn't logical to me. My methodology for purchasing music was detailed in my opening post regarding this topic. Perhaps I have been overly stubborn about my principles, but I find that quite satisfying. For all intents and purposes, I purchase almost everything sight unseen. As for staying informed, it is a combination of things: discussing releases with friends and catching segments on the radio or TV shows that cover my preferred genres. Furthermore, I have my own personal sanctuary—a local record store that carries 99% of the music I listen to or intend to hear. When I am uncertain about a specific release, I simply have a thorough conversation with the staff there (by the way, the shop is located near the General Dynamics headquarters on Washington Avenue). It is worth having those discussions because the employees are genuine enthusiasts who understand my taste perfectly, so their recommendations are never wrong. It is a true paradise. Hopefully, that clarifies my position for you.

Seriously though, this one’s easily the strongest out of the whole collection.
Those metal CDs from those German labels? They absolutely stink...
I swear, my Judas Priest *Jugulator* disc could double as industrial-strength glue if you sniffed it hard enough.
And don't even get me started on *Demons & Wizards*—I had to keep that one tucked away in a separate drawer just so some crazed metalhead wouldn't swipe it from me.

Yeah, I basically just buy everything on impulse.

Doesn't make much sense to me—but hey, if that's your thing, go for it 🙂

But look... say you hear about some new album and you're curious, but you aren't sure if it'll actually hit. What's your move? Do you just head to Target and grab it right then, or...?

And seriously, explain why you won't download a single MP3 online! 😁

I just don't get it..

Like, you download a track just to hear a preview before buying the original.
That seems pretty logical to me..

Hope I'm not bugging you too much 😉

It doesn't make much sense to me, but if you find it so appealing, be my guest.

Much appreciated.👍

Suppose you hear about a new album that piques your interest, yet you remain uncertain whether the sound will actually resonate with you. In such an instance, do you simply go out and purchase it immediately, or do you take a different approach?

When I am uncertain about whether a particular piece of equipment will meet my standards, I simply head to a local Best Buy to test the audio quality firsthand; it is a straightforward way to determine if the sound profile resonates with me before committing to a purchase.

Explain to me exactly why you refuse to download a single MP3 from the internet.

I cannot quite articulate why I refuse to do it; perhaps it is simply a matter of habit. For certain tasks, a computer is an absolute necessity, yet for others, it is entirely superfluous—such as downloading music. I developed the discipline of purchasing original media long before I ever owned a computer. This particular behavior is unnecessary. One is remarkably young, yet so incredibly stubborn when it comes to embracing new ways of doing things. 🙄 🙄

I trust I am not being overly persistent.

Don't mistake my patience for weakness; I am being remarkably tolerant here. If there is anything else you fail to grasp, do continue.

Greetings.

So just walk me through it—why on earth don't you want to download a single MP3 from the web? 😁

I honestly can't wrap my head around it..

Not trying to meddle here, but...
it’s a total mystery to me, Benjamin Clark12. It’s like asking: what kind of masochistic, fanatic zealot would drag ten-ton stone blocks halfway across the country just to build Stonehenge? When there isn't even a quarry nearby... 😉
There isn't a logical explanation for it. Like Alex Martinez4, I suppose some people just cling to certain old-school values. That's just how it is.

Anyway, looks like Kazza is cutting it close in the final minutes. You guys hear that? 😁

It’s honestly kind of hilarious to me when people go out and collect every single CD from some random, half-baked garage bands, only to turn around and act like they’re some walking encyclopedia of music history. They’ll start lecturing you on how "Album X" dropped in '94 and then list off every single release in chronological order like they’ve got a PhD in obscure rock
