Honestly, if she’s actually broke, then I guess I might be even worse off than she is! 🙂

Hey everyone, please, let's stop honking at cyclists from behind on open roads; it’s genuinely terrifying.

Every single time I catch sight of some road rager laying on the horn like an elephant that just stepped on a thousand hedgehogs, I feel a sudden, slightly irrational urge to toss a grenade at their car.
It feels like people who have never even seen a day of sunlight somehow ended up behind the wheel, driving without checking if there's a living soul nearby, assuming they can just peel away if they hit someone.
Then you have the spoiled kids of the ultra-wealthy, who represent the complete opposite extreme—they act like it's perfectly acceptable to turn unsuspecting pedestrians into omelets.

That's just not how you say it—seriously! 😁
And honestly, where did this idea come from that I'm some kind of high roller? If I actually had the cash, I'd have a brand new Trek by now, but I can barely afford my old beat-up Ford. 😢
Instead, I'm still riding this ancient Giant. 😳

I honestly couldn't care less about those pedestrians on the road. It’s actually hilarious watching a packed Greyhound bus 😁 when it's 95 degrees outside, but inside it feels like 105 with all the fumes and heat rising. I tend to ride quite fast (especially compared to walkers), and since I always have my headphones in, I don't hear any of the complaining. I also find myself cutting off cars at crosswalks all the time. If someone parks illegally and blocks my path, I’ll just squeeze my bike right past them—I really don't care if I scratch their paint; they should just be glad I didn't call a tow truck. We cyclists are basically the kings of the road; pedestrians and drivers are just beneath us. 😁

I don't care who you think you are—if I caught you scratching my car, there'd be hell to pay! 😬
That's just pathetic 👎

Honestly, anyone parking like an idiot over in downtown Chicago deserves a little lesson with a crowbar—though I guess most people like that never actually learn their lesson anyway.
Disclaimer: I’ve never even scratched a car. I’m just too much of a sweetheart 😳

Well, you might want to give some extra thought to your parking strategy next time. If you follow the local ordinances and make sure there's plenty of room left for wheelchairs and cyclists, you really shouldn't have anything to worry about.

northerntrucker42, you’re basically the guardian angel of parking spots. Look, if it bothers you that much, why not just grab an officer by the sleeve? If scratching people's cars is your way of protesting, maybe rethink that. Thank God there are actual fines for illegal parking that go up to $267.

In fact, it’s almost hilarious watching a crowd of twelve people shuffle along 😁 when it’s a blistering 95 degrees outside—and inside the bus, it’s pushing 110 with all that exhaust and heat haze. Personally, I tend to fly down the road—well, fast compared to any walker—and since I’ve always got my headphones in, I don't hear a single word of anyone's complaints. Plus, I have zero qualms about swerving right over the crosswalks. And if someone parks illegally and blocks my path? I’ll just squeeze past them anyway. I don't even care if I scratch their paint; they should just be grateful I didn't call the cops on them. We cyclists are basically the kings of the road—pedestrians and drivers are just living in our world. 😁
Oh yeah? Why don't you tell us what kind of bike you're riding so I can prepare myself to kick your ass when you zoom past me! :2up:

and honestly, there are cops on basically every corner just waiting for someone to grab their sleeve 🙂

Can someone please just close this thread? It drifted away from the original point ages ago—unless we want to move it to a subforum where insults and gutter language are the standard mode of conversation...🙄

what? don't be so fuckin' emo 😁

Just call 911 if they aren't around. It’s free. Look, if one little rule violation bothers you enough that you're ready to break another one just to get even, please—just make the call and let an actual officer handle it. Don't be a vigilante. There is a specific kind of gut-wrenching feeling you get when you see a car keyed by a stranger; it's indescribable. You women just don't get it. 😁 It's like being slapped in front of a hundred people and feeling like you can't slap them back. That's the vibe.

Look, my colleague tried to soften the blow here, but I’m stepping in to be the blunt, realistic one: this is more like being publicly humiliated in front of two thousand cheering fans who are all just waiting their turn in line. 😠

Zachary Thompson2 said:There’s just no way to describe the feeling of filing a report after finding someone keyed your car. I guess you ladies just wouldn't understand. 😁
Wait, what? Since when do women not drive cars? 😁

It’s just a completely different way of perceiving things.
Me: "Watch out, you're going to scrape the side mirror."
Her: "I won't."
Me: "Seriously, watch it."
Her: "Why do you always have to critique my driving? I'm not going to hit anything."
...and then she scrapes the mirror...
Her: "Oh, whatever, it's just a scratch."
Me: "Are you kidding me right now?"
Her: "This is actually your fault."
Me: 😁
