That’s kind of how I feel when I see someone parked right in the middle of the street—there are way more people like that than there are people who would scratch a car with a key. I'm saying I've never done it and wouldn't, obviously, but I still don't really care if someone gets their car keyed.
Which doesn't mean I think it's better than having a tow truck haul it away or getting a ticket, but unfortunately, we all know how things work around here.

I honestly don't know where people find these spots to park right in the middle of the street. I mostly get around town on my bike, so parked cars don't really get in my way.

If Americans actually started thinking that scratching a car with a key was a better solution than calling the police, things would change overnight. Maybe then the cops would actually take these calls seriously. Right now, we’re just stuck.

One more thing I should mention...

UNDER AMERICAN ROAD SAFETY LAWS, IF THERE ISN'T A DESIGNATED BIKE LANE, CYCLISTS ARE REQUIRED TO RIDE ALONG THE RIGHT EDGE OF THE ROADWAY!

So, whenever you spot a red-faced, shouting humanoid waving a blunt object around while lecturing a bewildered—and clearly traumatized—cyclist, just know that’s probably me. 😠

Honestly, so many drivers out here don't even realize they’re legally required to yield to pedestrians at crosswalks. It’s frustrating—really. Once I finally make it big and buy myself a high-end custom ride, people like that are going to get a little .45 caliber "reward" right in the back of the head!

Well, I never said I was scratching them with my keys, or even that I actually scratched one... I simply meant I wonder if I might. You know, while I'm passing by... if I could just zap their tires with my pedals... 😁... unfortunately, my bike is too narrow, so I haven't had the experience of being unable to squeeze through yet. I did have to get off my seat recently because I had less than 20 inches of clearance. And it doesn't occur to me to waste my time hunting down some local cops... they're usually busy driving over the sidewalks in Brooklyn 😁 anyway, just to avoid any confusion.
