Then you clearly missed that year at Spa-Francorchamps—it was absolute carnage right at the start. If I recall correctly, Hakkinen and Villeneuve were the only ones who managed to escape the wreckage unscathed.

My prediction for today's outcome: it's going to be either Felipe Massa or Ante Gumbel, though I find myself personally rooting for Gumbel.🙂

Those three things just don't go together. 😁

McLaren handles these situations in much more subtle, simpler ways anyway. And in any case, it's more efficient for the crew. Not necessarily a bad thing; quite the opposite, actually.

As for the British media? Don't you think they'd much rather have a handsome, tall, polished English gentleman as their champion than some rough-around-the-edges guy? 😁

Just look at him. 😳😁

Especially when talking about McLaren and their idea of being "subtle"—kind of like what happened during that summer back in 2007... 🍿🙂

Think back to 2008, at this very same track. 😉

Oh, absolutely, there was also that bus incident where everyone seemed to crash right before it happened.
What actually ended up happening with that situation? I know they had to redo the start, but how many drivers were even left in the running?
If I recall correctly, Michael took the win in that race, didn't he?

Ahahah... just like I said yesterday, Alonso is going to charm his way right past Fetl 🤣

Nice job, Lewis

Massa is leading 🤣 though God knows how he'll miss Alonso's move, or if the crew will just screw him over at the pit stop 🤣

I was actually thinking about heading down to the local sportsbook today to put some money on Massa to take the win.🙂

It’s such a shame for Gumbek; he was sitting pretty in fourth place for a bit there, but someone clearly played him, though I couldn't quite tell who.

Vettel is honestly just a joke at this point.😂

Man, Seb, what a total mess 😲

In his obsession with keeping Alonso from overtaking him, he ended up losing two spots instead of just one 🤦

Plus, that move to squeeze Nando out was pretty dirty... I guess the kid still hasn't quite grown up yet 🙂 😳

And it's pretty obvious that racing on home soil is still getting to his head 😬

I don't see why anyone is acting like he earned it. It's not like he actually had to fight for it 😬 It was basically handed to him on a silver platter 😁

Already yawning... honestly, nothing but rain can save this. Just five minutes of showers would do the trick.

Gumbek 😲 almost

I suppose the idea of a "home" track is somewhat subjective... historically speaking, Hockenheim has been one of Ferrari's most successful venues outside of Italy... though, I guess that was back when Hockenheim felt like a true racing circuit, rather than this modern version that feels more like a massive theme park 😁

man, what happened today was just heartbreaking....

honestly, there’s really no comparison to anything else I've seen, and I truly hope they get slapped with some heavy penalties for this absolute mess....

the only thing I can't wrap my head around is why that idiot Blaze was acting so clueless, like he thought Mass could somehow hold on for ten laps left in the race....

I don't think there's a single driver out there who underestimates the sport quite as much as he does...
I mean, if Vettel had been driving those hundred laps, there'd be zero chance anyone passes him unless they did it through the pits...

I haven't even sat down to watch a full race in like 5 or 6 weeks—just catching bits and pieces because honestly, I barely follow F1 anymore... and then today I'm thinking, "screw it, let me watch the whole thing" and I even tossed a few bucks on a parlay thinking Mass would take first place😁

and then you see Alonso putting up these insane speeds, not even five seconds off, yet he spent the entire damn race losing ground behind Mass🙄

if I were in Mass's shoes, I'm not even sure I'd have the heart to get back in the car after all that overtaking...👎

back when Schumacher was running the show, they'd make these stupid mistakes too, but at least everyone knew Schumacher was two classes above someone like Gumbek, plain and simple....

Give me a break. If Button had about 60 points right now and we were looking at this exact scenario over at McLaren, you really think they wouldn't do whatever it takes to ensure Lewis finishes first? Anyone who thinks otherwise is being incredibly naive. Whether it’s done through direct orders or some subtle coded messages, the end result is just as unfair. Though, I suppose you could argue whether it even counts as "unfair" when you consider the massive stakes, the money, and the underlying politics, much like what Blaze and Novak were mentioning earlier.

That whole fuel situation at McLaren is basically just a team order 🤷 wrapped in a slightly more sophisticated disguise, but it's still transparent to everyone watching. We all know team orders exist; it’s nothing new or surprising. The only difference is the method—at McLaren, they use fuel levels, whereas here they just tell Mass that Nando is faster, which he actually 😁
was.
So, what is the actual difference in the grand scheme of things? Let's not be hypocrites 😁
