shadowpilot8 said:Peter, it’s quite simple. Just highlight the specific text you want to address and click the "Wrap Quote" icon, then type your response after it. Repeat the process by highlighting the next section and clicking the icon again.tag at the bottom.
Everything ends up nested inside one massive quote because you aren't deleting the closing tag at the end. When you hit the quote button, the forum automatically adds the opening and closing tags; leave the first one so people know what you're replying to, but manually delete that
just delete

PHP Code:[ICODE] Peter, it's actually super easy. Just highlight whatever part of the message you want to hit back at and click the Wrap Quote button, then just type your reply right after it. Then you can just highlight more text and hit the icon, and so on... [/ICODE]
let's see
PHP Code:[ICODE] Everything ends up getting swallowed by one massive quote block because you forgot to close out the tags at the end. When you hit quote, the forum automatically drops those tags at the start and finish, so you leave the first one alone so people know what you're replying to, while that last tag keeps everything looking neat like this [/ICODE]

I’m relatively new to this forum—so please, be gentle—and I was wondering if anyone could walk me through how to quote multiple different posts and reply to all of them within a single response? I have a feeling this exact question has been addressed somewhere in this thread already, but honestly, trying to dig through everything right now would just lead to a massive headache and I’d probably lose my way before finding the answer.
My bad! Scratch that—this post is totally redundant. I figured out how to do it just now. Thanks anyway.

I’m relatively new to this scene, so I’m looking for some guidance from the regulars here. Is there a way to quote multiple different posts and then bundle my responses to all of them within a single reply? Any tips?

My bad! This post was totally unnecessary, and I’m officially retracting the question I asked. I figured it out on my own in the meantime. Thanks anyway.

How do I merge posts?🤷I just got flagged because I uploaded nine separate posts with images instead of combining all the photos into one single post...🙂😢
#269 ·
Look, you can't really split them up—just dump everything into a single post when you're putting it together. 😁

Just checking to see if I've actually learned how to do this yet😁
edit: looks like I have, finally!😉

jadedriver0 As shadowpilot8 once noted:
Well, bravo to me, I suppose. Just being my usual clumsy self.🤣😁
Anthony Barrett37 As shadowpilot8 once remarked:
You know, I was thinking about our communication here, and I felt compelled to mention that you might find it beneficial—truly, quite helpful even—to occasionally utilize the space bar or perhaps hit the enter key a bit more liberally. It’s a small thing, really, but I've always found that allowing a thought to breathe, much like how one might allow a quiet moment to settle in a busy coffee shop in Seattle, can make the entire experience feel much more cohesive and less overwhelming for those of us who tend to dwell on the finer details.
Ravine As shadowpilot8 once remarked:
Let me see if I have truly grasped the essence of what has been taught. 😁
I have finally managed to get it sorted out, at long last. 😉
Exercise. 😉

I'm dropping the question because I figured it out on my own. Thanks.[/QU

Keith Rodriguez27 said:That’s because they stay trapped in that giant quote box since you forget to delete the original big quote you get when you first hit the quote icon at the bottom of the post. You gotta wipe that first quote out before you start adding your own commentary. But if you do that, you lose the person's name and the link back to their original post. So, here's the move: do what I always do—just grab thattag from the very end of the post and paste it right after the specific section you actually want to reply to, then use the "highlight and quote" method for the rest of your stuff.
So just kill that first quote before you even start typing your reply. But then you lose the username and the link to the original post, so I usually just do my thing and cut
the end of the post and slap it onto the end of the part I actually want to talk about, then use that "highlight and quote" trick for everything else...
