Once you've tagged them all, just click the regular Quote button on that final post. Everything should automatically wrap itself in those quote tags, giving you the freedom to clean up any fluff, bold the parts that actually matter, or slide your own commentary in between the blocks of text. It's pretty straightforward, really.

Where am I missing the mark? If you could provide some more specific guidance, I’d appreciate it.

My current process is a bit of a cumbersome workaround—I tend to hit Quote, copy the entire block, strip out the parts I don't need, write my response, then paste the whole thing back in just to prune it again, and repeat the cycle indefinitely.

Alright, so how do I break a single post into several different pieces so it looks just like those ones above?

Then, simply click the Quote button on the final post you want. All those posts will automatically be wrapped in Quote tags, allowing you to
remove any unnecessary text, bold the important parts, or insert your own comments between quotes.

and so on.[/I]

and the Oscar

still isn't going anywhere.
Hmm, what's missing up there?

Click the rectangular icon (you can also find it under the Quick Response section).

An extra quote?🙂>

got it

Click the button to the right of the Quote button for all the posts you want to include, then simply hit the standard Quote button on the final post you want to cite.

right

All those selected posts will be added automatically.

okay, I'm still a little confused

And then once they are individual quotes, you can move unnecessary parts, bold the important stuff, or add your own commentary between the quotes.

The issue is when I type something underneath a broken quote block without adding text after the entire quote section. It won't let me post because it claims the message is too short.

Plus, look at this. The last quote from Spectre and the first one are still visible. Somewhere along the line, the brackets got lost. :S

Alright, let me try this again... I'll quote both your post and mine using that method. Only mine should show up. Watch this 🤣:

...................

jadetrucker43 said:It’s working perfectly fine for me. I just click on , it turns into , which effectively means the number of quotes you want minus one. Then, once I'm done, I just hit on the last one and boom—everything is bundled into a single post. Simple enough, right?

jadetrucker43 said:I’m betting the issue lies somewhere within the browser itself. If you've got an ad-blocker running—something like NoScript, for instance—you’ll probably need to whitelist the site to get things moving properly.

Otherwise, it might just be a matter of tweaking your settings to allow cookies or adjusting some other privacy restriction in your browser options.

You can also do it 'manually.'
AltGr + F = [

And then what?

AltGr + G = ]

Should there be a space between the original quote and this snippet? Right now they are touching.

At the start, you write:

Why does quote123456 still show up?

(without the period)

The end of the post looks messy like this.

At the end, you write:
(without the period)

Fine, this isn't working either. 🙂
Why is everything bright blue?

Now?
All those posts will automatically be wrapped in quote tags. From there, you can easily delete unnecessary text, bold important sections, or insert your own commentary between the quotes.

For every post you want to include except the last one, simply click the standard Quote button.

???????????

Then hit the button on the final post you want to cite. All those posts will automatically be wrapped in Quote tags. From there, you can easily delete any unnecessary text, bold important sections, or insert your own comments between the quotes.

You have to do this manually. Select the specific section you want to isolate, then use Wrap Quote
That applies to every individual part. You’ll also need to delete the excess, which consists of one [ quote ] at the start and end of the text.

I just took a look. I removed that last quote from the original post and moved it to the end of the section with my name so I stay credited as the author.
I'm not quite sure which other quote you're referring to that I need to remove.

kvakvakva

You also need to delete the extra bits. That means removing one [ quote ] from the start and end of the text.

The part you moved 😁
Generally, if you hit >, it inserts two tags—one before and one after the selected text. If you want to keep the original author's name, just delete that first tag, since having two won't work. You should leave the second one intact, because when you used the quote function on the post itself, it also added two tags: one at the start and one at the end.

edit: I see you figured out 👍

It turned out that way, though if I had to explain the reasoning, I honestly wouldn't even know where to start.
Anyway, I'm just going to reserve a few more pages. 😬

Normally, when you hit Wrap Quote, it places two tags—one before and one after the selected text. If you want to keep the author's name, just delete that specific part.

Can an author write in front of every section of a post?

Use the first quote (since you can't have two) and keep the second one—the original one from when you clicked quote on the post, which also added two tags, one at the start and one at the end.

edit: Looks like you figured it out. 👍

Now I'm missing two quotes again. 😁
Like I said, there isn't a quote tag over the last part of your post. 😬
No, I entered the quotes myself. I could have highlighted it and used Wrap Quote, but I thought since it was the last part of your post, I wouldn't need to edit it.

Hahaha, oh man, it turns out you actually answered my question. Look at the first part of the quote. 😁 Jesus.

The point is this isn't automatic. You have to figure out which brackets go before and after the text, then it's simple. If you want the author listed for every single section, you have to copy and paste the bracket containing their name before every select.
