Look, I know there's a much cruder way to handle this—essentially brute-forcing it by copying the whole post and manually deleting what isn't required—but I have a genuine desire to master this more streamlined method...
Keith Rodriguez27 said:That’s because they stay trapped in that giant quote box since you forget to delete the original big quote you get when you first hit the quote icon at the bottom of the post. You gotta wipe that first quote out before you start adding your own commentary. But if you do that, you lose the person's name and the link back to their original post. So, here's the move: do what I always do—just grab thattag from the very end of the post and paste it right after the specific section you actually want to reply to, then use the "highlight and quote" method for the rest of your stuff.
Just grab the end of the post and slap it onto the bottom of the first part you want to comment on, then just use that "highlight and quote" thing for everything else.

To handle this, just grab that snippet from the end of the post and tack it right onto the conclusion of the first section you want to address. For everything else, stick to the usual routine: highlight the specific part and hit quote.
And now I’m just waiting for the warning to pop up... here we go!

Up until now, I've been manually copying and pasting the names and those annoying ID numbers, which is honestly such a drag. Is there a faster, easier way to handle this without losing my mind?
There you go.

For instance, how am I supposed to quote multiple posts at once? 🙄 What exactly is multi-quote, and what's the actual order of operations for using it?
So, I'm curious here... how does one split a single post into multiple parts?
What am I supposed to click first? Honestly, all these instructions are pretty vague, and I'm struggling to figure out, for example—
Good grief, why do they have to make things so complicated?🤔
quoting several posts at once 🙄 Regarding multi-quote: which order should I follow and when?

No, that simply wouldn't work.
To what end?Where exactly am I missing the mark? If you could provide some more detailed guidance, I’d appreciate it.
And why exactly is that the case?My process is a bit more convoluted than most—I tend to quote the entire block, strip away the parts that don't serve my point, provide my response, and then repeat the cycle by pasting the full quote again only to prune it once more.
Here is how I’m approaching this (I’ll provide as much detail as possible), From the very beginning....):
To quote a post, you simply hit the Quote button to trigger the quoted block; then, highlight the specific section of text you intend to address and click the icon—that little speech bubble symbol—to finalize your comment. Wrap Quote the designated portion of the text should be enclosed within quote tags at both the beginning and the end Wrap QuoteI will append my commentary following that Wrap Quote at the end; I’ll highlight the second section once more; add the icon again; and then follow up with another comment right after the quote.
It seems my formatting has gone completely sideways; everything—from my own commentary down to those smaller nested quotes—is getting swallowed up by one massive, oversized quote block at the end of the post. It makes sense, I suppose, given that my own remarks are nested within the primary quote block... wouldn't you agree?
I feel as though I am missing a crucial step in my process, or perhaps there is a fundamental flaw in my approach that remains stubbornly out of reach, yet despite my efforts, the error eludes everyone's perception.🤷
Everyone keeps telling me the same thing: highlight the text, hit the icon, leave a comment. So, I follow the instructions to the letter, but when you look at the actual results... well, the outcome speaks for itself.
Something isn't quite clicking, so I would appreciate it if someone with a bit of patience could take a look at my task list and help me pinpoint exactly where my logic is faltering.🙂
I've been struggling with this too.the highlighted text gets "quote:" tags added to the beginning and the end; I write my comment after that quote block at the end; I highlight another section; hit the icon again; and write another comment after that quote...
Is this doing it right?

That stays stuck inside a massive quote block because once you highlight and quote specific snippets, you inevitably forget to delete the giant container that pops up when you hit that quote button at the bottom of a post.
Aha.
So, you should probably just wipe out that first quote tag before you start typing your reply. Of course, if you do that, you lose the username of the person you're replying to and the link back to their original post. Personally, I always take the shortcut: I just manually cut out...
the end of the post and the
eeee
and then paste it onto the end of the first section you actually want to address. For everything else, just use the "highlight then quote" method.
Good luck.

Pangloss;23729165 said:That happens because once you highlight and quote specific parts of the text, you forget to delete the massive main quote block that pops up when you hit the quote icon at the bottom of a post. You should probably clear out that initial quote before you start adding your own commentary. If you do that, though, you won't see the username or the link back to their original post, so you can just manually build it.
Seriously, how did I manage to screw this up so badly?🤦Keith Rodriguez27 said:That’s because they stay trapped in that giant quote box since you forget to delete the original big quote you get when you first hit the quote icon at the bottom of the post. Fineredhawk76 said:You really shouldn't delete or remove that initial large QUOTE positioned next to your username... If this attempt doesn't yield the result you're looking for, I'll sit down and write out the entire process for you tomorrow, step by step from start to finish... I know how frustrating these technical hiccups can be.😉[/I]
Just write it down already... let's stop wasting all this time.😵
