Personally, I'd give it a 6.5/10. That ending absolutely tanked the whole experience for me...
I mean, seriously, how does an "expert" fail to implement basic security protocols when someone is literally opening a bag containing a bomb? It's just ridiculous...

😁 Look, whether he pulled it off through some sci-fi logic or he actually has an accomplice on the outside doesn't change the core issue. The immediate assumption is that he’s maintaining contact with an outsider and/or plotting an escape—which means he needs supervision. I’m not necessarily saying the guy is definitely breaking out of prison right this second, but...😁

Gle, they put him in solitary confinement. How exactly is he supposed to maintain any contacts? It's not like he had a cell phone implanted in his body, nor would anyone expect that. I believe the authorities acted realistically, behaving like people in the real world who understand that sci-fi scenarios only exist in Hollywood movies.

It’s a really solid film—right up until the moment you start questioning who actually pulled the strings and how. Honestly? They should have handled the ending differently; it felt way too cliché for my taste. I’ve never been much of a fan of Butler—actually, I’m even less of a fan of movies he stars in—but I have to admit, his performance here is excellent. There are definitely some plot holes scattered throughout the story, but the filmmaking is tight enough that I didn't even catch them while watching. A respectable 7.5/10 for me.

I’m totally with you on this one—the movie itself was an absolute blast, just non-stop action from start to finish, but man, they completely butchered the ending. It felt like such a letdown after everything else. I’d give the whole thing a solid 7/10 if I had to.

Why on earth would that guy—the one who managed to slip away—start spraying bullets at the police from the roof and basically broadcast his exact location like that? It's fake.

My apologies, I misspoke—he actually did utilize the bone to take out his roommate, rather than some utensil like a spoon or fork.

But let me be clear: this isn't some fabricated bit of trivia. He specifically requested a particular cut from one specific restaurant, which meant he knew exactly what would land on his plate.

The movie kicks off with some decent energy, but then things just... drag. It feels like Foxx spends the entire runtime—seriously, probably twenty times—asking why Butler is doing any of this. Like, WHY? Because his family was murdered, obviously. But the deeper "why" behind it all?
It just meanders until it hits a total garbage ending. Foxx is actually great, though. 6.5/10

EDIT: Does anyone know how they translated "fork" in the dub? I swear, it made my whole day—it was so bad I actually had to write it down in my phone. I think they said something like "forklet," or some other ridiculous nonsense. 😂

Look, it starts off okay. The plot is actually decent enough at first, I'll give it that. But then? Then they reveal how the whole thing actually functions—you know, that specific location—and the entire movie just completely goes down the drain. It’s a total disaster.

Well, I can tell you from firsthand experience that the translation they settled on was "spork-fork." It’s quite fascinating, really, because in standard American English, we don't have a single, dedicated word to capture the essence of being spork.

It was an okay movie, nothing special, but there are definitely some plot holes where things just don't quite add up. The ending felt cheap too... it’s a shame it had to wrap up like every other typical American cliché, with the flag waving proudly and the day being saved, blah blah blah... I didn't feel even a shred of sympathy when those lawyers and judges were getting taken out during the film. Honestly, if those kinds of people met a similar fate in real life here in the States, I wouldn't feel sorry at all.🤷

I really enjoyed this movie from start to finish. 😬 I'm crossing my fingers that when the Blu-ray comes out, they include an alternate ending. 😁

And oh my god, the subtitles at AMC Theatres were this insanely bright, neon green color that was just blinding. 🙂

Is it not curious how we often overlook the subtle mechanics behind our cinematic experiences? You see, those subtitles aren't actually etched onto the film print like your standard, old-school captions; rather, they are projected in a distinct yellow hue. While this method offers the undeniable advantage of superior clarity and a much more seamless integration with the visual aesthetic of the film itself, one must wonder if the trade-off is worth it? Indeed, the primary drawback remains that frustrating lack of legibility during particularly bright, washed-out scenes.

Honestly, I thought they were pretty terrible. If this becomes the new standard for every movie from here on out, you won't see me at the AMC Theatres anymore. 😬

As far as I can tell, those subtitles have been limited strictly to AMC Theatres—and even then, mostly just at the Millionaire location on Main Street, though certainly not in every single auditorium. Between those spots, Synecdoche, and New York, it seems to me that such subtitled releases remain much more of an exception than the rule for now.

I actually think this yellow subtitle style is fantastic. It might be a tiny bit more intrusive than others, sure, but it stays perfectly legible through most of the movie, except for those few scenes where the lighting is just way too bright...

Solid movie. Honestly, the ending was pretty stupid, but overall... it worked. Those two hours just flew by.

Just another Hollywood disaster. Bad script, amateurish directing at times, acting that feels totally fake... yeah, the whole nine yards. Mia Khalifa and Butler are everywhere right now, so I guess it was inevitable they’d get shoved into a mess like this. What really kills me is how much the movie tries to pose as Se7en 🤦

It feels like they’re just shoving Butler into every single movie these days. At this point, he’s clearly just chasing a paycheck. 👎

The plot itself is also a bit bizarre. I found the incompetence of the police and investigators to be particularly grating.
Butler and Fox fail to sell the whole cat-and-mouse dynamic. There was none of that tension or intellectual sparring I was actually looking for.

6/10 for me.
