Maria Nelson2 said:Give me a break, sure, Jarno Trulli overtook him under the Safety Car, but I doubt that changes anything... so don't start bringing up the FIA and all that now.

My bigger concern is Vettel; once you hand him a fast car, we'll see exactly how much chaos he wreaks on the team's dynamic. 🤣 🤣 😉

Didn't realize. I honestly thought someone had just messed up the car again.

Seriously though, 😁 it's brilliant that someone actually thinks it's a good idea to try and overtake a guy who's three seconds faster per lap.😬

Everyone's going to think twice before trying that stunt again.😬

I'm not even worried. Vettel is still going to finish the season ahead of Massa, Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton, Heikki Kovalainen, Fernando Alonso, and Robert Kubica.☕

If anyone should be sweating, it's you guys.☕

And man, I can't wait for the race in Sepang.😈

What are these guys even rambling about?😲 Jenson Button had a massive 47.7 second lead during the race when it was 😕

And they’ve completely lost their minds over "Force India"—it's just a cash grab to mess with people's heads.🤣 😂 This has to be something Bernie Ecclestone cooked up.😂

Seriously though, when are we getting a wet race? Go ahead, give us a prophecy...😁

Why? I don't get it. I'm just messing around. What else am I supposed to do, cry about it now?

No clue, but let's say Suzuka😁

Ferrari would've been the best if they hadn't dropped out of the race.

Man, what a race—if this is how the rest of the season plays out, I am going to love watching it. It’s honestly refreshing to see the field shake up like this; we've had way too many years where just two teams fight for the top spot while everyone else basically just cruises along. It feels like the new regulations have made overtaking a bit easier, though they haven't gone overboard—there's still a real challenge there. Also, judging by today, KERS seems to have been a bit underrated. People kept saying it might shave off maybe 0.3 to 0.5 seconds per lap, but they didn't really mention the tactical advantage you get from using it strategically. It makes things especially interesting now that only a handful of teams actually have it...

Brawn fans! Honestly, they’ve stacked up so many mistakes already that it’s a miracle it hasn't all come crashing down on them—I'm looking at you, Rubens Barrichello. Based on the testing sessions, we really thought they were going to dominate, but instead, we ended up with a situation where even BMW actually had a shot at winning (more on that later).
Red Bull It’s pretty intense—Mark Webber just can't seem to find his rhythm when he's driving in front of a home crowd. Honestly, his first season was the only time he actually managed to finish a race looking decent. On the other hand, Vettel drove a super smart race right up to the limit, so he absolutely earned that podium spot.
Robert Kubica I feel for him—it was clearly a brilliant strategy, especially since those super-soft tires were absolute garbage after just three laps. Honestly, Lewis Hamilton didn't impress me nearly as much as the rest of you did; he just got lucky with everyone else's retirements. And if you think his performance was phenomenal, then Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock’s results were basically miracles considering they had to start from the pits due to penalties. Meanwhile, Alonso is struggling with that car and squeezing out every bit of potential he can—I bet he’s counting down the days until he can finally head over to Ferrari...
Williams There is still so much more to see from them—they basically handed it away through that clumsy mistake by Nakajima, the botched pit stop during Nico Rosberg's first stop, and what looked like a questionable strategy relying on those medium tires. Honestly, they should be happy just to scrape some points, but I truly believe they have much more to offer. Last year, Rosberg grabbed a podium early on only to see his performance slide later—this year, I’m hoping for the exact opposite: a bit of a rough start given their actual potential, followed by an absolutely stellar season.
Toyota She managed to pull off an incredible result, so I honestly think they have a real shot at fighting for the top spots now. It seems like they were the only ones who didn't struggle with the soft tires—and man, that could be a huge advantage for them.
Ferrari It’s been a disastrous start—their reliability seems pretty questionable right now—but hey, a wounded animal is always the most dangerous, and they still have plenty left in the tank to show us.

Yeah, hats off to Sebastian Buemi—absolute masterclass driving considering how much he was struggling with that car. 🙏 🙏 🙏

Does anyone actually know how much Brawn paid for Honda?

For a single pound—definitely a solid investment. 😬

Morgan Murphy7 said:Honestly, folks, all these recent changes haven't actually addressed the core issue

If we hadn't dealt with two SC periods, this would have just been one of those predictably dull races where nothing really happens.

It feels like we were all watching the exact same race... That last Safety Car really killed the momentum and prevented an even more intense battle for position. I honestly can’t remember the last time we saw this much overtaking in Australia.

techno_maniac Asks:
Sep and that Rosberg guy—honestly, they’re just mediocre drivers.

I wouldn't say he messed up—he actually drove those first two stints brilliantly. Honestly, I think they just botched the strategy by sticking with those soft tires. He clocked the fastest lap right at the end, and considering how easily he shook off Kimi Raikkonen at the start, it was a killer opening move. Are you sure you weren't thinking of Nakajima?
Zachary Thompson2 said:Yeah, Kubica played that one a bit amateurishly too, but he was chasing a win—he probably just got carried away in the moment. Sebastian Vettel should have realized there was no way he was staying ahead of Kubica and shouldn't have taken those risks in the first place. But hey, it's easy to be a critic after the fact.

On another note, what's the deal with these tires? Are we going to see the same super-soft to medium combo at the next race, or can they change it up?
Tires that only last three laps... honestly, who even came up with that idea? 🙏🙏🙏

These tire compounds will be available to the drivers for the first four races:

They totally screwed over Nico Rosberg in the pits😉 they spent 20 seconds just changing his front tire🙄 Williams clearly has massive potential; honestly, their car looks better than the BGP, they just haven't had any luck, much like Toyota😲 going from the pits straight to points, or even a podium. And it's not like a bunch of cars retired or that they somehow got lucky with the SC compared to everyone else🤷

Jarno Trulli got slapped with a 25-second penalty for overtaking under the Safety Car—so he drops down to 12th. Meanwhile, Sebastian Vettel is facing a $50,000 fine for that collision with Robert Kubica, plus a 10-place grid penalty for the Sepang race because he kept driving after hitting the wall instead of pitting when told.

izvor

I’m with you on those ten spots—what he did was honestly dangerous and just plain stupid—but I don't think he's solely to blame for that collision with Robert Kubica.

Zachary Thompson2 said:Look, regardless of how much you root for Vettel, you have to admit the kid made a massive blunder. He saw that Robert Kubica was significantly faster and was going to blow past him. It was only a matter of time before it happened in that corner or the next, so risking a podium like that was just reckless. Oh well, hopefully he learns from it.

The Ferrari drivers are both idiots. 😍

Congrats to Brawn, Jarno Trulli, and Lewis Hamilton. 👍

I’m not some F1 "historian" who keeps track of every single crash, and I don't really root for anyone specific—I try to watch F1 with total objectivity. But what does stick with me are those insane driver moves that clearly come from desperation, rage, jealousy, stupidity, or just plain ignorance. Especially when one person's blunder ends up costing another driver or their entire team everything.
Now, Sebastian Vettel definitely isn't part of the "unskilled or untalented" crowd, but this isn't his first year in the game, and it certainly isn't his first slip-up like this. That's probably why he went on record saying he felt like an "... idiot and was so, so sorry." Most likely, his engineers were barking at him from the pit wall to stop fighting with Kubica because their tires were shot and he didn't stand a chance.
In fact, Brawn probably warned Button about 5 or 6 laps before the incident that his biggest threat was actually Kubica (who was about 10 seconds back at the time), rather than Vettel, who was hovering around 4 or 5 seconds away.

The thing is, some people just never learn that being a great driver means using your head, not just chugging "Red Bull." If Brawn were running his show, he wouldn't have let that happen. He could’ve learned a thing or two from Lewis Hamilton about how you win championships by knowing when to ease off a little, instead of charging ahead like a madman.

Expected☕ total nonsense. Honestly, though, I bet that was a team call—if he'd actually tried to finish the race, he would've been cruising along on three wheels.🤣

And they'll probably nail Robert Kubica with a penalty too.😢

I agree regarding those ten spots; what he did was dangerous and frankly just plain stupid. However, I don't believe he carries the sole blame for the collision with Robert Kubica.

😲

So... looks like Hamilton’s got more luck than brains at this point... if they go through with some shady decision regarding the diffuser, it's going to be an absolute disaster.

Which one would you even pick? Honestly, everything will eventually balance out once they either ban diffusers entirely or officially legalize them. If they go the latter route, everyone will start using them, and then we’ll finally see who actually has the fastest car....
