I rarely find myself utilizing the report function, and when I do, it is strictly reserved for instances of ad hominem attacks. I make a conscious effort to overlook off-topic commentary or minor provocations. Generally, if I intend to report a specific post, I will first notify the user of my intention, providing them with a fair opportunity to remove the content themselves. If they decline to do so, only then do I proceed with the formal report.

I consider myself a very reasonable person. 🙄

Jack Hernandez said:So, you're asking what my name is? Honestly, I don't really have one of those fancy, official names you'd find on a driver's license or a Starbucks cup. I’m just here, hanging out in the digital ether, I guess. Just another voice in the crowd, if that makes any sense. No big labels, no titles—just me. 🥳

I mean, honestly, I don't really see the difference between having some random user like mrkvica_velika_25cm reach out to tell me they reported me, or just sitting here wondering which anonymous troll actually pulled the trigger. It’s all the same headache, I guess. 🤷

Besides that, I really hope other people on here are actually reporting the trash posts I flag. Because look, if I’m the only one seeing the issue when someone writes some vile garbage claiming all women want to be raped because they supposedly enjoy it, then we’ve got way bigger problems on our hands than just my little blowout fight with Carrot-Top over there.

Honestly, I don't see why anyone needs to go out of their way to lecture someone or get into some massive debate about how Beck’s ex was acting. It’s not like I’m his mother or anything. I just really have zero interest in jumping into these arguments where everyone is just being absolute jerks to one another.

There are quite a few people on this forum who know who I am, including those who know me in real life...
Though, at this stage, that isn't really the point regarding the anonymity I am discussing.
The matter at hand concerns forum anonymity.
I make a concerted effort to stand behind every statement I make and every action I take, including the act of reporting others.

Of course, that isn't always feasible, and there are certain individuals on this forum who are so incredibly thick-headed that it is better to simply give them a wide berth to avoid conflict, though fortunately, they aren't the majority.

Those types of repulsive characters eventually face a permanent ban anyway, so it is actually better to report them as often and as anonymously as possible.
I once made a mistake dealing with someone like that myself, so now I am twice as careful...😳

Me too, I guess.
But it sort of lines up with the fact that I’ve never really felt the urge to go after those specific types of people.🤷

It’s not like I feel ashamed or scared or anything when I report someone, but I don't make a massive scene out of it either.
If the person actually asks me who reported them, I’ll happily tell them it was me.
It's just that, usually, those people already know they wrote something disgusting, so it pretty much doesn't matter who flagged them.

Eh, whatever, the main thing is just getting them reported.😁

Sometimes, I find myself reporting a friend, or rather, just giving them a gentle heads-up when their language becomes a bit inappropriate ☕

1. Look, I’m not just talking about my inner circle here. There's a huge difference between my actual friends and just random people I've met online—they aren't even in the same category to me.
2. It wasn't some big attempt to brag about having a "ride or die" squad where we all cover for each other and never snitch. I'm just stating a fact: none of the people I actually wanted to get to know ever seemed like the type to be fake or overly sycophantic toward anyone (at least from what I could tell).

honestly, those coffee emojis drive me absolutely nuts sometimes

I recall a conversation I had with my former colleague Matt back when he was moderating and I was just starting out on this forum. He asked me, "Why on earth are you reporting posts? They all go to the entire moderation team." Now, I am genuinely curious if any moderator or admin would care to clarify: does a reported post alert every single moderator on the forum (😕) or is it limited strictly to the moderators assigned to that specific sub-forum?

I have learned my lesson and make sure not to take anyone's word at face value anymore. 😢

Alright, look, those massive walls of text bug me too, but honestly, I feel like the moderators should at least be able to spot this themselves. You can't really use the "we don't read everything" excuse when they clearly lack both the time and the motivation 🙄
How much longer are we going to keep doing their job for them? It’s just not right. 😍

Just to the mods on that PDF, but hey, don't just take my word for it—go ask around. Third time's a charm, or whatever they say.

edit: just saw this, Sashinko beat me to it.😢

Did I say it was?🙂
Unfortunately, we've had even bigger "geniuses" around here, but honestly, I'd need a massive external hard drive just to catalog all the lunatics. So, let's just look at the example right in front of us... Sure, the signature rules might be strict, maybe even stupid, but they were definitely necessary.

Oh, come on, are you actually trying to tell me you guys already wiped out all the geniuses 🤣

Look, I’m not against having rules—God forbid we descend into total anarchy—I just think everyone should pull their own weight here.
I mean, when it comes to a signature of this caliber, there really isn't any reason for someone else to step in and play the warning label.
Honestly, whenever I see something like this, I can't help but laugh; it's such a slap in the face to suggest someone needs help even recognizing text this obvious.😍

Whatever, fine. It doesn't matter.🙂

Listen, that would be great, right? If we didn't need moderators, admins, or even rules because everyone would just act right and everything would be perfect. But that's straight-up science fiction.

That's why there are people whose entire job is cleaning up after others, including fixing messy signatures. Reporting things to a mod is always an option, and usually, it actually helps. Whether someone chooses to report or not is entirely up to them.
Personally, I don't waste my time policing other people's signatures, and I'm definitely not out here filing reports on them... I stick to the posts, period.🙂

not reporting anything 😢

To be honest, I did report one post once... some guy from Vermont was talking absolute trash about Janice and it actually got me pretty worked up... this was back when she was still driving, so it wasn't exactly recent... 😢

As for signatures, I don't even bother with them 🤷
