High stakes tension!

Anyone know how Balić is doing? That guy took a hell of a beating yesterday...

What the hell is the big deal about BaliΔ‡? Why do painkillers and defensive blocks even exist? Just shake it off and keep moving so he can recover after the European Championship.😁 As long as nothing is actually broken, he'll be fine.πŸ˜‰

Honestly, we can do fine without Calebβ€”his impact has been pretty underwhelming so far anyway.
If the French had actually managed to shut down Balica, then we’d be looking at a miracle mission.

But today, Gal and the crew absolutely dismantled the Germans; they look at least a class above them now. I’m still wrapping my head around that slap we handed them yesterday. It definitely builds some confidence heading into the matchup against the Danesβ€”provided we can actually handle their frantic pace and stay neck-and-neck until the end, since our finishing lately has been questionable at best.

I suppose one could attempt to interpret that sentiment, though its utility remains questionable. It’s much like a cryptic headline in a failing local paperβ€”vague, slightly dramatic, and ultimately lacking substance. kaΕΎe:
And then, predictably, the coach stands before the cameras after the match and declares, "The officials simply wouldn't let us beat the Americans."🀣
Was I watching the same game as everyone else? Something felt fundamentally off.πŸ˜•πŸ˜‚

The guy has lost his mind. One moment he's screaming at the refs for awarding a penalty to the Frenchmen, and the next he’s lunging at one of his own players, shoving him so hard he nearly hits the floor.

Plus, we could probably just fix that with some isolation training before the finals... 😁

Honestly, this Onesta guy is absolutely unhinged. I mean, watching him lash out at his own player like thatβ€”as if the kid had personally committed some unforgivable crimeβ€”was pure madness. It’s an absolute disgrace to see a head coach behave with such zero self-control. The man needs to go see a psychiatrist immediately, seriously.

Honestly, there’s just a ten-point gap between us and them, and that’s basically the end of the story for me! :P

The stakes were just too high, and the officiating was straight-up garbage. Especially at the endβ€”dropping yellows in the 45th minute, calling five consecutive fouls in a row, and stalling our offense for three minutes even though we'd already put up three goals...
I'm not even saying they were out to get us, they just sucked at refereeing.

Since handball has basically evolved into this semi-combat sport, judging it is an absolute nightmare. Every single offensive drive involves two, three, maybe four heavy contacts at the crease... it's incredibly tough to call. Honestly, the officiating yesterday was about as good as it could possibly be given the circumstances.

Just some random thought here:
is there even a specific reason why they don't put a shot clock on attacks?

edit:

something like that...

Interestingly, the Danish word for 'medal' sounds almost identical to our slang for a 'token.' πŸ™‚

Back to the point: I guess the Americans are playing better right now, but the French were favorites against us too, so we'll see. It just comes down to whether they play with heart.

Just Google "USA vs Denmark live" and start clicking through the links.

For the scores, just check ESPN... πŸ‘

here are some linksβ€”don't kill me if they don't work perfectly

mms://80.160.76.117/tv2sputnik1
sopcast channel 42352

one of these should hopefully pull through just fine...

edit: also added those 5 links from live-sports-online, should be plenty of options there πŸ™‚

btw, Jerry Fisher41, when did they even post those links over there? All morning it was just the same old stuff from yesterday... that's why I dug up these ones instead

Because if they did, games would basically just end with scores like 1-2, 0-0, or 3-1 and call it a day... 😬

Honestly, it feels like a complete miracle that we even made it to the finals. To be perfectly blunt, Peter and Lake have been a total disaster in almost every game we've played; our wings have been playing like they’re stuck in slow motion, while Vory and BaliΔ‡ have been just... okay. As for everyone else? They've basically been invisible. If we want to pull off this win today, every single player on that roster needs to deliver their absolute best performance of the season. DominikoviΔ‡ has been doing a stellar job organizing the defense, which is crucial because we simply cannot afford to give up any fast breaks. Come on, shooters and wingsβ€”it's your time to step up! And if BaliΔ‡ can manage to stay on the court for the full 60 minutes without getting sidelined, we might actually have a shot. God, please let this work!
