That’s the explanation they give on IMDb too, but I guess it's totally nonsensical since they're just plastic. You know—if it was an explosion, they'd melt or crack, but if we're talking radiation, then the effect on people would be entirely different than its effect on plastic.

We have to remember this was set in the 50s and 60s. You have to consider what kind of materials they actually had back then. Honestly, I don't even know what modern crash test dummies are made of these days.

It was some sort of foam, I think, but they weren't filled; it was just a thicker layer of that stuff.
Right, but still, this was the 50s and 60s. You can't expect them to have perfectly replicated human skin or anything like that.
Or maybe they were just using them to fill up empty houses. Perhaps they weren't even testing for people, but rather for the structural integrity of the buildings nearby...😕

I missed the original, but the remake was actually great. I’ve already posted my full review, so I don't really feel like rehashing it here... Anyway, where did you even find that poster? Haven't seen that one yet. What really ticks me off, though, is that some idiots are actually filming a sequel to that remake. Absolute lowlifes.

That poster is the only thing I ever saw hanging up in those video rental shops back in Philly 😍 A sequel? wtf?! Yeah, I knew one of them managed to crawl out alive, damn him... 🙂 Now they actually have to make a follow-up because of him 😳

There’s a reason that poster looks the way it does—anyone who’s actually sat through the movie will know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s absolutely twisted.

Anyway, back to the movie. It was mostly 🙏 but those stupid scenes where they're slitting a woman's throat in a trailer, she's screaming her lungs out, yet they're miles away in the middle of nowhere and nobody hears a thing.
Or when he shot that old lady—as soon as that magnum hit her, she should have died instantly, instead of dragging it out for fifteen minutes before she finally passes.🤔

well, maybe he just missed some vitals or something..
I mean, he caught her right in the gut, so I guess it's possible she stayed alive by some miracle.
plus, they were probably too distracted watching that fire or just totally in shock, so they might not have even noticed the screaming coming from the trailer.
