Best opening scenes of all time?

In my opinion—it’s easily the greatest opening scene ever filmed.

I mean, look at >—that hazy, gray backdrop where a man on crutches emerges from the shadows without us even seeing his face, all while > provides this incredibly powerful score that just absolutely tears through the atmosphere. If you've actually seen it, you know exactly what I mean.

For me, nothing beats the opening of The Lord of the Rings. It just hits different.

Honestly, I’ve lost count, but I’ve probably sat through the first part of this movie more than 50 times by now.
I honestly think the movie is great.
All three parts.
My CDs have finally started skipping on me. I've gone over them so many times trying to figure out what's wrong, but there's no fixing it—looks like I'll have to go out and grab some new ones. Heh.

Purely tasteless—some guy with a beard is running from zombies, fires his pistol, and misses, hitting an axe instead. He takes another shot, this time catching one right in the head and blowing its brains out. Blood splatters all over his face, and a chunk of skull ends up smeared across his pants. Just gross...
