He’s definitely a god-tier producer, no doubt about that! But at the same time, he might still be the biggest copy-paster in history... you can believe both things at once, I suppose...😎

Sure, it draws from that Disney pirate aesthetic, but I don't think it's really a case of simple copy-pasting. Every part of the game feels pretty creative and original to me, I guess...

I just rewatched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest for the 30th time—honestly, I'm more hyped for the sequel than ever.

I caught the premiere, and honestly? It was nothing special. The movie could probably pass as okay, but there were definitely things that just didn't click for me. Look, they took a bunch of legends and myths and mashed them together into this big spectacle, but then they went and made everything way more complicated than it needed to be... For God's sake. I guess I'm still curious about the sequel though...

I absolutely loved the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, and honestly, I’m counting down the days until the sequel hits theaters here in the States... I have a feeling it's going to be great since that whole genre is right up my alley. Now, all I can do is sit tight and wait to see if it actually manages to top an already solid movie.🙂

I can't really say I was blown away by the movie. I haven't even seen one of them before, and honestly, I live for pirate flicks...
Just like how those skeletons in the first film didn't really sit right with me, you know, like the undead types and all that, these weirdos on the "Dutch" ship just didn't click either. I'm just a sucker for that classic pirate vibe. You know, islands, treasure, a chest full of gold... nothing too supernatural or crazy...
Even the dialogue wasn't exactly top-tier. If Depp had just landed one witty line instead of having to carry the whole thing on his acting alone, the whole thing would have looked way better...
It feels like this flick was made for kids, because the humor is totally on that level. It’s basically like watching Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner or some cartoon villain... and the action scenes feel more like a choreographed dance or a circus act, like that sword fight on the windmill halfway across the island...😬
It's such a shame, because they really could have done so much better with this material...

Honestly, you guys have way too high expectations...

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is two hours of pure entertainment. You won't be sitting around pondering its deep philosophical meaning once the credits roll—but you'll definitely have a blast during those two hours.

Two hours of pure fun... well, considering the movie actually runs for two and a HALF hours, that means they just took an extra thirty minutes of pure boredom and sprinkled it throughout the whole thing—just enough to drag the entire experience down. 😬
The "high expectations" I had were really just based on what the First Film did for the crew; honestly, it was incomparably more entertaining than this "sequel."

Honestly, a pretty terrible movie. One part was decent enough, but the rest? Just awful.

First off—it’s incredibly boring. The pacing is glacial, and the whole thing is just bogged down by unnecessary, drawn-out dialogue. Second—it isn't funny at all. They clearly tried, though; there are constant attempts at humor where you're *supposed* to laugh, but it feels like something out of a kids' cartoon. What’s even more pathetic is watching half the theater laughing at these totally predictable gags—you know, the kind where someone trips and the music cues up... yeah, that. Third—it’s way too long. Fourth—totally predictable. And fifth—there's no actual ending, just a setup for a third installment that I have zero intention of seeing after this disaster.

If I have to find a silver lining, the special effects were good—but I guess that’s expected given how much money they threw at it.

I mean, honestly? The first one was way better... there were just too many weird characters in the sequel, way too much sci-fi nonsense going on

I think I was actually planning on seeing it... I shot some footage of this during the summer during that Gibson apocalypse (or maybe it was the apocalypse 🤔 😬), but it looks like nothing's happening with it before Christmas..

What kind of criticism is this? Did you guys not find that musical number hilarious, where they're swinging from one cliff to another inside a wooden cage? And didn't that scene with the female kraken at the end just tug at your heartstrings? You people are losing it... 🙂
