If you compare this thing to the first movie, it’s a total disaster. Honestly, expecting a sequel is just part of the cycle—that's all Hollywood knows how to do. They just want you to show up at the theater next summer, buy a bucket, and fill that bucket with popcorn. I mean, that's basically the biggest trend in the US right now, isn't it? Buying popcorn by the bucketful!

Johnny Depp is back to being completely unhinged again, and those sea people—you know, the pirates—are just ridiculous.
And don't even get me started on the stereotypes; apparently, every single pirate in this movie is clearly British. Give me a break!

The only redeeming quality of this entire film is
Hans Zimmer, who composed the score. He’s easily one of the greatest composers working in Hollywood today. A total legend.

the count said:... and this villain, Davy Jones, is such a massive presence. That scene where he’s playing the organ!!! 🙏 🙏 It kind of gives off those 1930s horror/monster movie vibes... 😎

Yeah, honestly might be the best scene in the whole movie.🙏 Total legends.😬

In my opinion, this movie is absolutely phenomenal—easily the best adventure flick since Indiana Jones. :klap: It might run a little long, but honestly, that seems to be the standard for movies these days.
I can't wait for the third one...🙂

Just finished watching the second one and I’m honestly impressed—it actually felt more engaging and fun than the first film.
I don't really get the hostility at the start of this thread. 😕
The fifteen-minute break was a nice touch—just enough time to step out for a cigarette and take care of some business.
Really looking forward to the third installment. 👍

Personally, I actually think the length works—it doesn't feel dragged out, especially since there's a break in the middle.

I watched a documentary about film production yesterday, and now I’m even more excited to go see the sequel... I'm really liking it so far... plus, Johnny Depp actually gets quite a bit more screen time than he did in the first one 😍

I mean, don't get me wrong, Keira Knightley is gorgeous, but... Tia Dalma is just on another level. 🙂

Does anyone else feel like they have this weird, inexplicable magic touch when it comes to making people smile? I don't know—it’s just one of those things that hits me sometimes... like, you're just sitting there, being your usual awkward self, and suddenly you realize you actually managed to brighten someone's day. It’s kind of a strange feeling, honestly. Not trying to be all deep or anything, just thinking out loud. 😬

Wait, did anyone else catch that little charm sitting on her table? It looks exactly like one of those music boxes belonging to Davy Jones—you know, kind of like a lock on a treasure chest... man, you could probably upload just about anything to a thing like that if you had the chance.

🤣 🤣

I totally agree, this movie is fantastic. I'm right there with Jose Lopez15 on this one... 👍

We didn't even have an intermission back home 😬 (in Chicago), but honestly, who cares if a movie is long when it isn't padded out with filler? You don't get bored! 😁

And that whole cliffhanger thing? It doesn't bother me at all... 🙂

Nancy Harris50 As requested:
Does anyone else feel like there's a certain magic to a perfect smile? 😬
..

😂 I was just browsing IMDb and saw that she starred in an American TV series called "White Teeth." 😬

So, did you guys actually know they shot the third one at the exact same time as the second part? Apparently, they’re just finishing up post-production now, and it should be hitting theaters in May 2007. 🙂

Man, I am seriously counting down the days... 🙂

I finally sat down to watch it last night, and honestly? I’m blown away!👍 It actually beats the first one for me. The characters feel way more fleshed out, and the new additions to the cast are absolute gold (especially Davy Jones and Tia Dalma). Jack Sparrow is even more unhinged than before, and Elizabeth gets so much more screen time (and hey, that kiss with Jack... 😍 ). There were moments where I was legitimately laughing out loud—that chase sequence with the cannibal tribe was pure comedy gold.
I am already counting down the days until the third installment!🙂 😁

In short: pure entertainment.🤣
In two words: Jack Sparrow.😍

Here’s something that caught my eye: the way they play with the names Tia Dalma, Dalma Tia, California, and then the connection to the Mediterranean Coast. 😕

I find this whole thing pretty intriguing: Tia Dalma — Dalma Tia — California — the Mediterranean Coast 😕

Probably—just as much as the "Plavalaguna Diva" in "The Fifth Element"...

By the way—they’ve already pulled in $930,000,000 🙂 (that's nine hundred thirty million, after they only put in two hundred thirty)
Nice work 👍!

Just a little hint about her home country, I assume. 😁

Just a kid from the coast who’s maybe drifted a little too far off course.

If people actually want to sit through a sequel after a first installment like that, then fine, let them churn out eight more just to keep the lights on; it's not like we can step in and stop them.

Nice job 👍!

Man, eight is nothing, they should have hit twelve easy.

She's basically the kid of some rogue pirates from a small coastal town on the Mediterranean Coast.

😁 🤣 😂

Oh, absolutely...
I can already see the third installment coming—DOOMSDAY, where they have to hunt down Jack Sparrow using ENALAZI in Omiš!😁 😁 😁 😬

Personally, I think the film is excellent—Johnny Depp is 🙂

My only issue is that Eva Green was a bit grating 🙂

Exactly—let's see how Lucas handles making actual series like this 😉
