I loved how they threw in those Cthulhu Mythos elements in this film, though I have a feeling I'm the only one who actually noticed them. 😕

I honestly don't get all the hype surrounding the first film.
Sure, the cast is solid, the special effects look good, and there are a few iconic moments, but that's about it.
As far as action sequences go, they’re pretty middle-of-the-road... nothing extraordinary.

And if the sequel is even worse than the original... then I don't see much point in heading to the theater.

I found this hilarious clip of the film, but it's in Cyrillic, and after seeing how people reacted to my signature, I don't think it’s smart to drop the link here. Besides, a few people have already branded me a troll anyway...

You mentioned how much those Cthulhu Mythos elements in the movie blew you away... and if I recall correctly—just a few posts back—I actually mentioned how much I liked seeing Davy Jones as a nod to Cthulhu himself. I even pointed you toward that Russian discussion (written in Latin script, of course)... so, honestly, what’s the big deal?

Look, someone else in another thread called my post a provocation just because it was in Cyrillic, so I snapped at you. I thought you were being intentional about using Latin script when maybe you just don't have a Cyrillic keyboard installed. Or you just don't want to deal with switching layouts all the time.

It honestly gives you the impression that the movie is way more hilarious than it actually is...
Anyway, I'm low-key dying to see the unofficial cult parody version...

👎 👎 👎 absolute disaster... such a massive letdown... commercialized to death... God help those $19 how much we paid for tickets at AMC...
and the worst part is I spent an entire month hyped up just waiting for this thing to hit theaters... 😵 😵 😵

I personally love it. Though, I have to admit, I’m such a huge fan of Jack Sparrow that I might not be being entirely objective here. He was hilarious—it was almost like those goofy cartoon jokes, but honestly, I found it totally cute.😍

First off, it’s incredibly boring. The pacing is glacial, and the movie is bogged down by endless, unnecessary dialogue that just drags everything to a halt. Second, it isn't funny. They clearly tried to inject humor, forcing these scenes where you're supposed to laugh, but the jokes feel like they belong in a kids' cartoon. What's most pathetic is watching the entire theater erupt in laughter at such predictable gags—you know, those moments where someone trips and the music cues in... it's embarrassing. Third, it’s way too long. Fourth, it's completely predictable. And fifth, there is no actual conclusion. It feels less like a movie and more like a bloated trailer for the third installment, which, after this disaster, I have absolutely no intention of seeing.

The first film is truly excellent.

Because that little monkey basically waited until the end credits of the first film—you know, after everyone has already left the theater (and honestly, who even stays through the credits anymore, even on Blu-ray?)—to sneak back over to that pile of gold and swipe a single coin...
