So, I actually sat down the other day and did a quick review of everything I’ve watched so far, and I've come to the conclusion that the best one is the most recent entry—Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

The previous one by Alfonso Cuarón was great, sure, but honestly, that was mostly because Columbus kept things so simplified in the first two films. This latest one, though? It feels truly complete.

They’re fun, and honestly, the special effects are great.
You must be some kind of die-hard fan of highbrow European cinema, I guess. 🙄 😁

I rarely expect anything more than pure entertainment from a movie. That’s its primary job, right? To ENTERTAIN ME. Period. 👍

As for Harry Potter—well, it was pretty much 👍 I binged it in one go (just like the previous three 😬), it felt super dynamic, directed quite well, and at times actually a little scary (you have to put yourself in the shoes of kids 😁). I really missed seeing Draco Malfoy and his old man Lucius Malfoy; they were definitely my 👍
I’d even go so far as to say this is the best sequel of them all 🙏

I haven't read the fourth book yet, which sucks because I usually love knowing everything before the movie comes out 🙂 I'll try to catch up this summer 😁

so, what's the consensus here? What do you guys think?

Look, man... it's basically pure adrenaline on screen. What more could you even ask for?

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is fantastic, and honestly, the whole series holds up, but this one is definitely the peak so far. I’m just sitting here counting down the days until they finally adapt the sixth book... The Half-Blood Prince
It’s easily the best installment yet, and it really leaves you hanging, wondering what on earth is going to happen next.

😈 The movie was alright, I guess, but the graveyard scene was a total letdown—everything just felt rushed through. Also, maybe dial back on the deep, philosophical quotes? They were getting a bit tedious.
p.s. I’m with you on that; books might be cold, but at least they're reliable friends.

So, what’s the verdict from the rest of you?

Look, the movie isn't bad, but the pacing is all over the place—it moves way too fast. And don't even get me started on Daniel Radcliffe's acting; it was honestly so painful to watch that I actually had a headache. For me, the first three films are miles better.

...I have to agree, the pacing feels super rushed to me. The movie isn't bad, per se... but the first three definitely hit harder.

arggggghhhhhhhh,......I hate it when people conflate THE MOVIE and THE BOOK....just get it through your heads—they are two DIFFERENT things, two entirely different mediums...........hey..and one more thing.....the movie has some decent moments, some funny ones, while others are just ..😲 garbage..heheheh, but the book...heh...the book is ......the book is......the book is...ugh....the book is...eternal......absolutely perfect.

p.s. perfection is a dangerous thing... heheheh

I can't stand Harry Potter. 😠

Well, you might hate him, but there are plenty of people out there who actually love him! If he bothers you that much, just steer clear of any topics involving him...🙏

The visuals and special effects are top-tier, honestly—but I can't get past how Albus Dumbledore is acting. He’s being totally dense here.

Honestly, the actor playing Albus Dumbledore totally missed the mark. He was supposed to be this calm, composed figure, right? But look at that scene where Harry Potter gets picked as the fourth champion—Dumbledore just panics, pushes him, and starts interrogating him nervously like he’s lost his mind... It was ridiculous. Personally, I’d cast the guy who plays Gandalf in Lord of the Rings to play Albus Dumbledore instead; I actually think he could pull off that level of authority properly.

It seems to me that McKellen’s entire purpose in life is to portray those wise, long-bearded wizards leaning on walking sticks. That role really should have been his. As for the current actor... well, you watch him and you just find yourself bracing for the moment his voice, heart, or legs might suddenly give out on him.

But hey, that's just my unsolicited critique of the whole series—lol.
