Carl Cruz said:Caught this the other day. Not sure if it’s even hit US theaters yet, but if it has, do yourself a favor and watch it. Easily one of the best horror films I’ve seen in a long time.

Personally, it just proves that one solid piece of European horror beats ten American slashers any day of the week.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on the film..?

Well, I finally managed to track it down after quite a hunt! Haven't actually sat down to watch it yet, though—planning on diving in this weekend.😲 😲

This movie is absolute garbage. The scream queens won't shut up, and they're so drenched in fake sweat and grime you can barely tell who's who. It’s the same tired routine: monsters jump out of the shadows—usually right when the soundtrack hits a deafening crescendo—they shriek and flail their arms around, and then they get slaughtered. It's predictable, lazy, and honestly, just a total waste of time.

I won't be able to get to it until later this week... but I'll definitely have it done by tomorrow.😁

True, but at the same time, it could have helped pull her up after she slipped into that hole 😎

Dog Soldiers? Man, if that director's involved... then I'm all in! 👍

It’s actually better than The Descent—honestly—and I think Dog Soldiers is great too. You won't be disappointed; the movie is a total horror masterpiece, and probably one of the best examples of the genre out there 🙏 🙏

It’s honestly pathetic how my PC keeps crashing right on the screensaver
how does anyone even manage to function with a brain like that?

I’m just sitting here waiting for the moment I get bored enough to actually want to see her scream from a pool of blood—you know, covered head to toe, with her head popping out of the crimson mess...
I can't quite put my finger on why, but those creatures just give me the creeps. It’s probably because they feel way too plausible. Like, you never really know if someone actually got stuck in some deep cave system and mutated over time or something. Every single time they show up on screen, I get this overwhelming sense of dread... it's just unsettling. And the way they leap onto people and gorge themselves like starving animals? It's gross. Honestly, it’s like that feeling when we want something so badly it becomes an obsession... it makes me want to lose my damn mind. 🤣 🤣 🙄

It drives me crazy when a friend asks me, "So, what are they even supposed to represent at this point?"

if she just took a few steps back from the screen... then maybe she'd actually see it.😬

Solid flick. I’m not usually one for horror movies, though—all that supernatural bullshit just grates on my nerves. What actually worked for me was the sense of claustrophobia; I spent the whole runtime feeling trapped. Honestly, the tight cave passages and those narrow tunnels were way more unsettling than any of the actual creatures. That constant, oppressive darkness really cranks up the tension, especially if you’re watching it late at night with all the lights out.
spoiler: The ending held up. I was already starting to lose interest when I saw the blonde survivor make it through, specifically during that scene where she’s cornered in the cavern while the monsters are circling her. Pure nightmare fuel.

All in all, one of the better entries in the genre.

Fine then, go ahead and watch the American version that cuts out that final scene with the blonde; we’ll be over here watching Descent the way it was actually meant to be seen.☕ 😬

Great, just great. I was all set to settle in for a movie night, but then my stupid DVD player decides to act up right when I’m ready. Talk about bad timing! 🙂
