I can say with total confidence that the first one is way better...

To be honest, the sequel left me feeling a little let down. Even though there were some decent moments here and there, the subpar acting and a messy script pretty much tanked what could have been a standout film. It felt like they were trying way too hard to chase the lightning in a bottle from Saw, but instead, it just ended up being a mediocre little horror flick...

On the flip side, Saw was absolutely top-tier... 👍

So, has anyone actually sat through Saw II yet?

Yeah, I did... honestly, I bailed halfway through and have zero intention of picking it back up. Pretty sure I won't even touch the first one. (I actually started the second one just because a buddy was badgering me to give his DVD back).

It wasn't bad, I guess. Lots of blood and stuff, but nothing groundbreaking. Maybe a 3 out of 5 for me.

I gotta say, the first part actually blew me away—it was surprisingly good!
I haven't even had the chance to dive into the second one yet, but some guy at a bar already spilled the beans to my buddy about who killed his mom...😠 🙂

I watched the first one, but the sequel has just been sitting on my hard drive for months now... I'm just not feeling that massive pull to actually sit down and watch it yet.

It's not really about whether it's "exciting" or anything, more like how it functions as a single unit...
The opening definitely hooks you, but then it kind of loses its edge and settles into that standard thriller-horror territory you've seen a thousand times. That said, the ending does throw a bit of a curveball at you... 😈

That movie was pretty intense. I definitely didn't see that ending coming—man, cutting off those legs was brutal.

The sequel had a wild ending, and it's obvious they poured a massive amount of effort into that specific segment... but at least the movie maintained some of that sickly, hopeless atmosphere from the first film. Honestly, the only redeeming quality in Saw II is the acting (to an extent).

So I watched the sequel yesterday, and honestly, I'm just confused. I guess there are people out there who actually think this movie is good, but to me, it’s just full of illogical nonsense and massive plot holes.
I had pretty high hopes because the first one was top-tier, but this second part is just some mediocre MTV horror flick—lots of shaky cam, tons of blood, and some hot women.
In the first movie, we got those creepy anthology-style scenes (like that photographer getting kidnapped, or Jigsaw getting up at the end—even if it makes zero sense that he just lies there for hours without moving, whatever, I'll let it slide). But with a sequel, the ending should be what carries the whole thing and makes us all go "wow. That was intense." Instead, the ending is just stupid as hell. They twisted everything just to make sure it made absolutely no sense.
I guess the only redeeming thing in the whole sequel is Jigsaw's performance; it was solid, and his whole vibe is great ("Those who don't respect life, don't deserve it" 🙏 🙏 ), along with that buff guy who just decides to kill everyone for no reason. 🙏 🙏 🙏

It’s like someone said there are plot holes big enough to drive a truck through, and some people just choose to ignore them...

Has anyone seen House of Cards with Kelly Brook? Watched it yesterday and honestly, it felt just like watching Saw... similar setup, everyone kidnapped in a house, except instead of tasks they get handguns. And of course, everyone ends up dead.

Why does everyone insist on calling this movie "Jigsaw of Terror"? Honestly, what a ridiculous title choice... 🙄

In my opinion, it’s already old enough to be sitting in a video rental shop somewhere... though, frankly, I can't even remember if it ever actually had a theatrical run here in the States 😬
