Frankie said:For my semi-rigid lenses, I stick with these solutions from Opti-Center
and I've been quite happy with them.
Every night, I clean them, rinse them under the faucet, and pop them into the storage solution. In the morning, I just take them out of the liquid and put them straight in my eyes, then rinse the case with water.

I used those until recently, but they just don't work for me anymore.👎

Is it actually possible for your eyes to get "used to" a specific solution?

iwchy said:I mostly stick to Total Care too... about two years ago, my doctor looked absolutely horrified when I mentioned using Total Care. He insisted I switch over to Boston immediately...
The only issue is that even now, you can barely find any Boston products in most American pharmacies, so staying consistent is nearly impossible...🙄
Personally, I think it works better than Total Care, but they serve different purposes—one for storage and one for cleaning...

My doctor actually told me to use Total Care and said they recommend it to everyone.
It’s just... honestly, you can't trust these doctors; everyone seems to have their own little agenda...😠

Hard to say. I haven't been able to get enough of Avizor for five years straight. I only switched over to Boston because you can't find Avizor anywhere anymore...

I spent a few years under Total Care, and toward the end, it was honestly a nightmare. I eventually switched over to Avizor-Nitilens and things were fine for a couple of years, but then everything just fell apart again about a week ago...

The whole thing feels incredibly strange...

I've been using Boston—it's my go-to all-in-one solution, and I've stuck with it for two years now without any issues at all. In the States, you can pick it up right at Ghetaldus.

I ended up going with the two-solution system instead.😬
So far, the Total Care is working wonders. It really suits me...👍
Thanks for the advice.

I’m wearing these freaking stupid damn contact lenses!!!—that’s what they claim, all through the first semester—and I seriously can't wear them, man, they're so uncomfortable... I’m blinking constantly, they feel way too STIFF... so does anyone actually have experience with this? Like, am I even doing this right? Is there a specific way you're supposed to wear them? Or whatever...😠 😠—because this is driving me absolutely insane!!!—people keep telling me, "just look normally, stop blinking," but damn it, they're actually chafing my eyes... and this jerk of a doctor didn't even give me the soft ones... total idiot...

Clearly you need some heavy-duty protection
You’re probably better off just wearing glasses 😎

I mean, what else can I do?
If I don't throw $250 them in the air, are they just gonna float there by themselves???

Brandon Carter17 said:Well, yeah—so if I $250 blew them up, you want them to just stay floating in mid-air???

I mean, fair enough. Then you complain they're garbage, say you can't wear them, and start hunting for new ones... even though you $250 were stuck with those...
hovering there.

But what am I supposed to look for, man? I already dropped my cash on $250these, damn it. Honestly, I wish I could've just grabbed some softer ones and called it a day—but how am I supposed to go looking for anything else when I already paid full price for these hard ones? Ugh...😠

From what I understand, if your doctor prescribed them and they aren't working for you—like, you actually can't see straight—then they should be prescribing alternatives that don't cost you extra. Or, if the other options are more expensive, you should just be paying the difference.
I've heard about people pulling stuff like that before. I actually had a similar situation with my glasses a few years back.

If the ones you want cost more than the basic coverage, you'd just pay the difference...
I've heard about people trying to pull weird stunts with those kinds of things, actually dealt with some similar nonsense with my own glasses a few years back.

I guess I'll find out at my checkup in three months, so... yeah... whatever happens, happens...

You’ll get used to them eventually. I don't really wear them myself, but I have a few girlfriends who do, so I see them around all the time.
I used to be pretty big into blue contacts back in the day, mostly just for the look of it, you know? I can't really say how they felt at first—they were actually kind of a pain to deal with, especially when it came to getting them in and out of my eyes—but after a while, it became second nature. I ended up wearing them almost every single day until they finally reached their expiration date.😁

It's probably semi-rigid lenses—hard ones aren't really used anymore (you can order them, sure, but only for people who've worn them for years and somehow can't adjust to semi-rigid or gas-permeable versions for some reason). Otherwise, soft lenses, even if they seem more appealing at first glance, actually have a lot more downsides compared to "hard" ones, and it's definitely worth the effort to get used to them...

So, I’ve been wearing these soft contacts lately—everything was fine at first—but now I can’t seem to read anything on my computer screen without it getting all blurry. It’s like the letters just start to fuzz out... then I have to blink and sort of squeeze my eye with my finger to get it back to normal, which works for maybe five or six seconds before it starts happening all over again...
I guess I’m just wondering, is this actually normal or what?

then your doctor seriously missed the mark😬 nothing like that should be happening after wearing them for a few months😲 you should definitely go back and complain... if he tells you everything is fine, tell him where to shove it and find someone else😬

Istina-nego, I just don't get it. If they're claiming that, but all my girlfriends from high school(2) say it's totally different, what kind of logic is that even????

If your doctor prescribed soft lenses, you probably have to stick with those or just go the glasses route. But what rustyraven29 mentioned about soft lenses having more downsides? Yeah, that’s spot on. With soft ones, you’ve got to be super careful they don't touch any water, you can only clean them with specific solutions, and you definitely shouldn't sleep in them—otherwise, you end up with this buildup that messes everything up, and it's just one thing after another. That said, it's usually much easier for your eyes to adjust to soft lenses than to the rigid ones. You'll likely find that after a little while, your eyes get used to them and things will smooth out.👍
