"I was just at the pharmacy picking up some ointment... if I'm reading the label right, it's called "Procter & Gamble"... or maybe "Procto C"... I'm really hoping someone who actually knows their stuff can tell me if it's any good. I've been scrolling through so many posts here that I can't even remember the actual name, I just remember seeing something about a "homemade" type of cream..."
Look, I’ve used that stuff before, but honestly? It was a total pain to apply because there’s no applicator included, and for external use, it didn't do much for me. I'm pretty sure it contains a corticosteroid, which helps take the edge off the inflammation, but you definitely shouldn't be using it long-term. Personally, what saved my skin was Dolocain gel. It's an anesthetic, and you can apply it just like you would with Faktu—either inside or out—to dull the pain when you have to go. You can use it a few times a day, too. Just one tip: don't wash up with freezing cold water; stick to lukewarm. Honestly, I’d highly recommend just heading to a specialist. If you look back at the threads from a month or two ago, you'll see a ton of people fixed their issues simply because they went to a proctologist first. Once a doctor actually sees what's going on, they can give you a targeted treatment instead of you just guessing. I’ve been seeing Dr. Gojević for three years now (he has a clinic on Tuesdays, you just need a referral from your primary doctor, no appointment needed), and he’s great. The exam isn't as scary as people make it out to be, though obviously, it won't feel amazing when you're in pain, but it's over fast.
p.s.s. just double-check that the guy hasn't already bolted off to a ski trip somewhere.
