Reading through this thread, I’m honestly baffled by how some people here are just waiting to pass out from pain or bleeding before they actually call a doctor. That goes for you too, Zachary Wilson7. If you suspect something isn't right, go see a physician and get a referral for a specialist. I don't get why anyone would feel ashamed about this. Besides, it might not even be hemorrhoids; better to find out early.

And yeah, stop slathering on Nivea or any of those other creams. Just use clean water, maybe a little mild soap, and a specific ointment designed for this. Stay away from cosmetic products. There's definitely a chance it clears up on its own, obviously.

Everything you said holds water, I guess... but between waiting for a specialist and actually getting an exam to confirm a diagnosis... man... I don't want to sound reckless, but maybe I'd just try to fix the issue myself in a week first. If it doesn't clear up, then I'll head to the doctor. Besides, I'm not in pain and there's no bleeding... maybe I'll just apply some Dolokain or Factu ointment and cool it down with some water to see what happens...

Consistent hygiene is vital. Avoid using toilet paper—or if you must, use it very sparingly. Every single time after a bowel movement, wash with lukewarm water and apply some Factu ointment. If an inflammation flares up now and you treat it regularly, you might prevent it from worsening. I dealt with two inflamed ones myself—absolute nightmare, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I went to the doctor, and they gave me the exact same advice I’m giving you. If things actually get inflamed, use Preparation H—it clears up in two days (tested this on my own skin). Eat plenty of fiber and stay hydrated. Also, hold off on strenuous physical activity for a while. Heavy lifting at the gym can also trigger hemorrhoids—that's something I read in a news segment. Take care.

I'm almost certain this lump popped up because I overdid it... I went way too hard on my abs these past few days and, well, here we are.
Since this showed up, I've been washing with cold water regularly and it seems to be shrinking a bit; it doesn't bleed or hurt yet. But I read somewhere that running is actually good for hemorrhoids because it strengthens the skin around the area and prevents them from forming... is that actually true?

Hemorrhoids are just... things. I was diagnosed eight months ago for no apparent reason (I can't even find the cause) and when it hurts, I use Factu ointment. I want to take action and get rid of them because even though they aren't bleeding right now, the pain is intense..
probed using Venetom (since I also deal with terrible circulation in my legs—even with warm shoes in winter, I get frostbite and nasty nails), but it didn't help.. so then I saw an ad for Ginkgo from Belupa, claiming it helps with cold feet and hemorrhoids..
Has anyone actually tried this stuff? What kind of results should I expect???
If not, I heard about cauterizing the hemorrhoidal arteries for $167, and apparently you can go back to work the very same day... does anyone have experience with that...?
p.s. and I am only 21 years old!!!!!!!!!!!!👎

So, here’s the deal. I actually read on this forum that it might be better to avoid surgery while you're young, since there's a chance they just come right back after the procedure. Maybe it's smarter to try dealing with them using an ointment first... I guess that's my plan. I'm 23, and I'm pretty sure they flared up because of physical strain.

You really need to see a proctologist.
Right away.

Well, it's actually been bleeding for three days now.

The first day was probably the worst; I was seeing quite a few blood clots.
Since then, the amount of blood seems to have decreased slightly each day.
In the last 24 hours alone, I've had to run to the restroom at least 15 times. Out of those trips, I actually had bowel movements about 2 or 3 times.

And honestly, it doesn't even hurt all that much.

I've been taking about six Voltaren and six Normabel
(splitting them 3x2) which makes things feel a little better, I guess.

As for surgery, I’m stuck in this endless loop where I have to wait for a referral to a proctologist, then fight through a crowd of maybe 50 people just to be told I need *another* referral for proctology, and then it starts all over again—having to go back to my primary doctor just to get the referral for the actual surgery.

And don't even get me started on how exhausted Hepatitis C leaves me.
I deal with PTSD as well, and believe me, this whole waiting game is driving me absolutely crazy.
The constant pushing and shoving, plus the rudeness from some of the nurses and those grumpy old guys trying to cut in line... it’s just incredibly frustrating.
To make matters worse, I've been waiting two months just for my state ID card because they can only process those specific ones in a major hub like Chicago.

It’s just been completely draining. 🙂

All the pushing and shoving, the rude nurses, and those old jerks trying to cut in line—it’s enough to make anyone lose it.
On top of that, I've been waiting two months for my American ID card because they can only issue them in the big city.

Man, I am just completely wiped out.🙂

Regardless of the wait and all that nonsense, if I were you, I’d go see a doctor and a specialist immediately.

This isn't a solution, and how long are you going to keep doing this to yourself?!

Please, just go to a doctor and stop choking down so much Voltaren!

Best regards!

Where exactly are you planning to go for surgery anyway? 😬 Look, I’m no doctor, but I’ve dealt with enough medical professionals in my life to know that surgery is always the absolute last resort. I know plenty of people who have cleared up hemorrhoids without ever seeing a surgeon, even with much tougher cases than yours.

In your situation, just switch up your diet, make sure you get out for a walk for at least an hour every day, stop sitting around for hours on end, and use some kind of hemorrhoid cream (just ask at the local pharmacy what they recommend). And obviously, go see a doctor once. I’m sure you won't have to wait more than a day to see Dr. Smud. 😉 Then, if he thinks it's necessary, he might send you to a proctologist. But honestly, I doubt even that will happen; he'll likely tell you the exact same thing most people here have said.

So, I’ve got a bit of a situation here. Yesterday, I noticed this little bump on my backside—tiny, about the size of a peanut, and it has this slightly bluish tint to it. It’s itchy, but there’s no stinging or bleeding involved. Now, look, I’ve read everything you guys have posted regarding hemorrhoids, but I also came across some info suggesting this could actually be a cyst, right?

Anyway, here’s the real question: I went ahead and picked up some Factu acute cream, and I’m wondering if applying it might actually make things worse since I haven't actually sat down with a doctor yet.

My suggestion:

Steep 2 barberry flowers in 2 dl of olive oil for about 10 days before using.
It’s best to keep everything in a glass bottle. Don't bother straining the flowers out of the oil.
Barberry isn't blooming just yet, but once it does, anyone tired of using harsh chemicals can whip up this double-strength salve. It worked for me, my mom, and my friends, so give it a shot. It won't hurt.

And listen... you need to keep things moving smoothly😬 and maintain regular bowel movements, otherwise...😈

I think I've finally stumbled upon a total lifesaver!
It's the Dolokain gel (which contains lidocaine).
The pain usually subsides within about 2 to 3 minutes.
A 25g tube is usually enough for $13, and honestly, the relief can last quite a while.
Since my discomfort is internal, I find I have to apply it manually with my finger.
There is an applicator included, but it’s pretty small and, if I'm being honest, makes the whole process incredibly painful to deal with.

Take five large red onions and slice them up, then simmer them in a liter of milk. Once it hits a boil, just pop the lid on and let it sit for a minute or two. Next, you’ll want to take that entire pot over to the bathroom and hover right over the steam. Basically, you're going to "sit" over the vapor—spread things wide with your hands to get as much exposure as possible—and stay in that position for about 10 to 15 minutes. You can do this a few times throughout the day, and feel free to reheat the mixture if you want more warmth.
Just a heads-up: that steam gets hot, so please be careful not to burn yourself! But seriously, try to get as low as you safely can and keep everything spread out so the steam really reaches the area.
To make this even more effective, combine it with this dietary tip: boil one kilogram of regular whole grain in two liters of milk. Eat a tablespoon of this mixture several times a day; it works just as well cold if you prefer. I've seen this work wonders.

I had that exact same bump once—it was blueish and super itchy too! I was honestly terrified.😲
Factu cream isn't going to make it worse; it's just there to help.😬

I have a quick question... I'm not actually from the area, but my doctor gave me a referral to see a proctologist regarding some hemorrhoids. I was wondering where the best place to go would be here in the city, and if there are any out-of-pocket expenses I should prepare for afterward. Thanks!

Honestly, you should probably just ask your own doctor. Personally, I went to the Bates private clinic to see the specialist, Miočinović.
It's right over by Kennedy Plaza.

Dr. Fila in downtown US cities is also known as a top-tier expert, along with a few others, so I’d vouch for him too.

If you want their specific contact info, just hit up the information desk at the clinic...
The exam costs a couple hundred bucks, I think $100 back when I went, but who knows, prices change...

Hope that helps a little.🙂

That’s a great question! I'm actually curious too—since I'm a student with all those perks, does my insurance cover the checkup? Also, do you think I could head over to the Bates clinic and have everything billed directly through my health plan?

Honestly, I haven't a clue. Your best bet is probably just giving them a call to double-check.

Best,
