Lisa Castillo, you gotten any results yet? Don't drag your feet on this—you gotta just go in so you actually know what you're dealing with. If you need some pointers, let me know.

I had my colonoscopy done about three weeks ago.

So, I went in for a colonoscopy less than a year ago. The results were what I’d call "neatly messy." Basically, everything looks fine—no signs of tumors, no polyps, no damage, not even hemorrhoids... yet there are traces of blood showing up and nobody can tell me where the hell it's coming from. I went for follow-up tests on my small intestine, and those came back perfectly clean too. Everything is consistently "normal" on paper, yet the problems just won't quit. Then, I decided to pivot to a much lighter diet—I cut out EVERYTHING carbonated, spicy, or heavily roasted, and started chugging water, about two liters a day, and since then, things have improved drastically. No more issues. Well, up until now.

The only real change is that my stools aren't narrow anymore, and the pain has dialed down just a tiny bit. It might be the food, since I switched to a bland, mostly liquid-based diet. Honestly, I don't see myself going back to the doctor anytime soon because, frankly, the whole medical system feels like pure EVIL after being bounced between four different doctors for the exact same issue. My trust is completely shot. That’s why I’m hanging out here on this forum, trying to figure everything out on my own... I read up on symptoms on medical sites, but this forum is where you go for real-world experience. There isn't a single person in this world who is the ONLY one suffering from something, so you can always find help here through people's lived experiences, which is ten times better than some doctor who hasn't got a clue—especially in my city, not to mention where I'm from.

So, the symptoms I'm dealing with right now are still pretty much the same—pain deep inside the large intestine area, especially when I'm straining or trying to go. I don't get cramps. No blood. No nausea. The stool is soft, though passing it is still pretty difficult, but at least it’s not thin like it was at the beginning. It doesn't burn. It’s just this dull ache, like I took a hit to the gut, though I definitely didn't.

I'm not sure if I actually have hemorrhoids...
So, here’s the deal:
Whenever I'm on my feet for a long stretch (like when I was baking cookies for hours—that's when it first happened), I feel this tension in my rear—almost like I desperately need to use the bathroom, or like the urge is already hitting. I went to check (used a mirror, obviously) and saw this little sac popping out, about the size of a hazelnut. It felt like tight, slightly soft skin.
Honestly, it freaked me out because I've never dealt with anything like this before. I always thought hemorrhoids were only triggered by major strain—you know, like childbirth or dealing with really hard stools...
I applied some Hemophagen, and by the next day, it had shrunk down to the size of a pea. The very next day, though, I spent time mowing the yard and planting flowers—nothing crazy, just constant standing and moving around—and it popped right back up.
Every time I stand too long, it happens. It feels like my insides are trying to make a break for it! There’s no stinging or itching, it just feels uncomfortable and makes it impossible to keep everything tightened up... It settled down after a few days, but now I’m avoiding standing for long periods altogether. If it comes back, I'm heading straight to the doctor.
Does anyone know if hemorrhoids can be triggered by something like standing for long stretches?
Or what else could this be?

If you're dealing with a massive flare-up, especially with those external hemorrhoids, stop sitting on cushions, blankets, or anything soft. Seriously. Sit on a hard wooden chair instead. A cushion traps heat, and that warmth is basically fuel for the hemorrhoids. You want something that stays cool. Stick to a basic wooden seat. Don't let anything cook your backside, because while it might feel comfy for a second, it’s absolute suicide for your condition.

Hey everyone, especially my better half. If you're too embarrassed to go see a doctor about this stuff, I can take a look myself—no judgment here! ))))☕

Hey, I've been scrolling through this thread for like half an hour and finally decided to sign up just to vent about my own mess

So, here's the deal: I'm dealing with this too—external hemorrhoids. First time it hit me was when I was 18. Just this painful little lump on the outside, and man, I could barely sit through class one day
Basically, I didn't even know what it was back then. Thought it was just some minor inflammation, so I washed it with cold water and it cleared up after a couple of days. It was brutal for maybe a day or two, though

Then nothing for three years. Every now and then it would sting a bit briefly, but I didn't think much of it until two weeks ago when it popped up again. Same lump, same pain. It wasn't too bad and went away in a few days, but the lump stayed there
Well, the pain flared up again the day before yesterday, and today it’s the worst it’s ever been. That's why I'm out here scouring the internet and stumbled onto this thread

I had a medium-hard bowel movement this morning and it was absolutely agonizing. Now, it hurts even when I sneeze (I've got a slight pet allergy), when I walk, or when I sit down

The pain is somewhat manageable most of the time, but sneezing, blowing my nose, or bending over feels like a total nightmare

Question: Should I be freaking out? Usually, this stuff just goes away on its own in a few days, unlike the stories I'm reading here where people are suffering for weeks. The lump is about the size of a large grain of corn right now. Should I rush to the doctor or just go grab some Hemophagen?

I've got some store-bought chamomile tea, so I was thinking about trying a cold soak tonight

Honestly, I'm pretty confused. I don't get how mine just clears up in a few days while you guys have to try every single remedy under the sun just to get through it🤷

So, I'm not sure if this is the right spot for this kind of talk, but I've been hearing rumors that spending too much time reading on the toilet can actually lead to hemorrhoids.
Do you guys find yourselves reading while you're in there, and what's the actual motivation behind it?
Personally, I feel totally uninspired without a newspaper in my hand, so I wonder—is that more of a psychological thing?

Well, it really depends on what you're reading. Honestly, sometimes certain articles in the news give me diarrhea, others trigger an allergy, or even make my blood pressure spike... so yeah, there's probably a way you could end up with those hemorrhoids from just reading.

For example, when I read about how everything is getting more expensive, it definitely hits my blood pressure. And whenever I read about "honesty" or "integrity" from certain politicians or big-shot CEOs, it pretty much sends me straight to the bathroom.

How on earth could reading give you hemorrhoids? Reading is supposed to help you unwind. Honestly, the effect should be the exact opposite; if you really wanted to trigger a flare-up, you’d spend all your time constantly stressing someone out or keeping them in a state of pure terror. 😬

🤣
It's actually the constipation that does it—though people with chronic issues tend to end up reading just because they're stuck there forever.

Hey everyone else dealing with this same mess, haha. Dealing with hemorrhoids is seriously such a drag. I’ve had them flare up again after a long time, but now I’m stuck because I haven't been able to go to the bathroom for four days straight. Every time I even try to have a bowel movement, the pain is intense. Does anyone know a way I can soften things up before I try again? Thanks!🙂

Anonymous said:Greetings to everyone dealing with this exact same headache. Honestly, these chemical imbalances are such a relentless nuisance. I’ve found myself facing them again after quite a while, but now I'm stuck in a particularly nasty spot because I haven't been able to use the restroom in four days. Every single attempt at a bowel movement is met with intense pain. Does anyone have any advice on how I might soften things up before I try again? Thanks.🙂

Whether you opt for a dose of liquid laxative or go the route of an Ex-Lax suppository paired with plenty of lukewarm water, the goal remains the same. It’s all about finding that specific mechanism that finally gets things moving when the system decides to stall.

Maybe start with some herbal tablets Ex-Lax—just take two right away, wait about 5 or 6 hours, then have another two. That should pretty much get things moving...
Also, grab some Gerolsteiner; drinking about 10 ounces of warm Gerolsteiner every morning might help too.

Look, if you're spending more than a few minutes on the throne, something’s gotta give—you might want to start looking for some thicker toilet paper...
Sitting there for ages puts way too much pressure on everything down there, basically dragging those veins into a low-hanging situation, which—surprise, surprise—is a fast track to hemorrhoids.
So, do your business in a couple of minutes, then go grab a coffee and read the news instead.
If things are coming out a bit too solid, don't try to force it—that's just asking for trouble. Just take a supplement or some tea to soften things up.
Something like Gerolsteiner, for instance.

Thanks! The Ex-Lax tablets actually did the trick for me. I won't lie, the experience was pretty rough, but it worked. Hopefully, this helps anyone else dealing with the same thing.
PS: Drink tons of water... seriously, don't skip that part. Thanks!

I finally have some good news to share for everyone struggling with hemorrhoids. Believe me, I’ve been through absolute hell for 25 years dealing with this crap.
What actually worked for me—to the point where I'm honestly shocked—was taking Daflon tablets REGULARLY for four months (twice a day) along with 8 ounces of WARM Perrier EVERY single morning. After those four months were up, I stopped the pills, but I still drink my Perrier every day. Seriously, it is worth a shot.🙂🙂🙂🙂
